Pearly Sparkles July Challenge ~ Christmas in July

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to the July Pearly Sparkles challenge,
Christmas in July.

I love getting ahead for holiday card sending, how about you?

This A2 card was created using patterned papers from Echo Park and a wonderful stamp, stencil, die cut set from Pink Fresh Studio, Poinsettia.

I am having so much fun using PFS layering stencils.  They are each marked for placement and numbered so they're truly easy to use.  I stamped after stenciling and then used all-in-one die to cut the pieces out.  I fussy cut the sentiment which was also a part of the set.

Cut it UpChallenge #281 ~ Hello Sunshine

Hi Crafty Friends,

Time to share a new Cut it Up Challenge.
The theme for challenge #281 is Hello Sunshine.  There are so many ways to interpret this theme.
We hope you have fun with it.

I saw a card using this double Z fold on FaceBook and just had to give it a try.  I made this one a little larger than the standard A2 so that I could incorporate my different design ideas.  I also added a message space to the back.

I used Bo Bunny Double Dots papers for the this card -still one of my favorite lines so I tend to hoard what I have left.  The stencil is from Pink Fresh Studio.  I used it as sunburst but you can also use a different color for each ray (it's a 5 piece stencil) for a completely different effect.
The stamps and dies are from Jaded Blossom: Large Palm Tree, Tropical Dies, Happy Hello Add Ons 2, and Sentiment Strip dies.

Cut it Up Challenge #280 ~ Masculine

Hi Crafty Friends,

Father's Day is this Sunday so it's appropriate that our Cut it Up Challenge #280 is MASCULINE.

I have been enjoying using layered stencils from Pink Fresh Studio.  I recently received this wreath stencil and figured, "Hey, this could be on a masculine card."
What do your think?

I stenciled the background using the Pink Fresh Diamond Plaid stencil set and Distress Oxide Inks.
I used the Overlapping Leafy Wreath stencil and coordinating die for the focal image, also from Pink Fresh Studio. The Flag Dies and sentiment are from Jaded Blossom.

I hope you'll play along with this challenge.

We are looking for guest designers for the CIU blog. If you're interested please send me an email at

Cut it Up Challenge #278 ~ Send Me Flowers

Hi Crafty Friends,

We have a new challenge posted on the Cut it Up Challenges Blog.
The theme is SEND ME FLOWERS.

Remember to use a die cut on your project.

Here's my card using a Pink Fresh Stencil with coordinating die.

I used Distress Inks for the stenciling then used the die to cut it out.  I used Bo Bunny Double Dots card stock (an oldie but goodie and still one of my favorites.)  I added some Pink Fresh gems for a little sparkle.

I hope you'll play along.  If you'd like to be a guest designer for a future challenge, please sent an email to cutitupchallenges.gmail.com.

Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers ~ Sketch #33

Hi Crafty Friends,

There's a new challenge up on the Build Your Stash Holdiay Cardmakers FaceBook page.
We'll be accepting link ups to Sketch #33 in the FB album until the end of May.
I'll share the sketch at the bottom of the post.

Here's my design using two new products from my crafty stash.

Who says flamingos aren't for Christmas?  And it was fun using non-traditional holiday colors!
The background was created using Pink Fresh Diagonal Plaid stencil set and Distress Oxide ink and inspired by a cardmaking class put on by Sharon Doan.  We meet monthly and she shares the most amazing products and ideas.  The image is from My Favorite Things Festive Flamingos.

I hope you'll play along with this month's sketch challenge.
