Crops of Luv Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of Cooking with Cricut's monthly blog hop.

This month the designers have chosen to create layouts for the Crops of Luv Organization.
If you've arrived from Jamie's blog, Scrappin 2 Baby Girls, then you're in the right spot. If you were just visiting my blog and would like to start at the beginning, you'll want to click HERE to go to Cooking with Cricut.
Crops of Luv works hand-in-hand with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and creates scrapbooks for families who have children facing life-threatening illnesses. Our blog hop features 12 x 12 double page layouts using these themes requested by Crops of Luv: Princesses, Pirates, Animal Kingdom, Summer Fun, Christmas (yes, they celebrate Christmas every Thursday at "Give Kids the World"), or general Disney themes.
We were given specific guidelines for the layouts. They requested a journaling tag or block for each layout and mats to hold three 4x6 photos per page. We were also asked NOT to permamently adhere the photo mats in case they needed to be moved or flipped. I used double-sided repositionable tape to adhere my mat
.
Here is my layout for Day 2:

I purchased the die cuts a long time ago during the Northern California Scrapbook Shop Hop. The Mickey in the corner is from the Mickey Font Cartridge.  The journaling tag is the ticket.  The ticket cover is attached with a brad.

I hope you're enjoying all the Design Team's creations. We invite you to participate. You can make a two-page layout following the guidelines above and mail it directly to Crops of Luv c/o Roberta Baker, 11424 S. Pawnee Circle, Phoenix, AZ 85044. This blog hop is also a CWC challenge to be sure to link up your project HERE. And while you're at CWC, leave a comment for a chance to win some great blog candy.

Here is my project for today's hop.  Remember, this is a two-day hop with entirely different layouts being shared on Sunday (so please come back tomorrow!!)

I've been hoarding Disney papers and stickers so it was so nice to use my stash for such a worthy project.  The tags are cuts from the Mickey Font cartridge.

A Layout! Can You Believe It?

I went to a crop last night and finally completed a few more pages for my daughter's DisneyWorld Marathon scrapbook.  She wanted these pictures in the album to remember her stay at the Disney Jazz Inn. What a cute way to arrange the hand towels and washcloths.

Mickey's "jazz" hands were cut from Mickey and Friends as was the Disney heart.  The font and journaling tag are from Mickey Font

She visited Downtown Disney to pose for a few photos before returning to her home and job in Champaign, IL.  I'm sure there's a lot of pride in those smiles having completed her first (and last!) full marathon!  She's never been a runner, but she's an athlete and decided this would be an amazing personal challenge.

"Smile" was cut from Gypsy Wanderings.  The crown and septer is from 3 Birds on Parade.  I used my new I-Rock to set stones on the crown, septer, and to add bling to the princesses.

I'm asking all of you to keep Monique Griffith in your thoughts and prayers and she undergoes surgery this week.  She hosted the crop last night and displayed such a positive outlook.  There was laughter, jokes, and fun.  She is a beautiful person.

More album pages

I just finished more pages for my daughter's Marathon Album.  I'm sharing this two page layout because I can use it for My Shei Crafts Blog weekly challenge, which is FRIENDS.   This is such a simple layout, I'm letting the paper do the work!

Layout - DisneyWorld Marathon Weekend

As I mentioned in my first post, I'm making an album for my daughter who ran the DisneyWorld Marathon in 2009.  This page is the beginning of her adventure as she and her roommate fly from Illinois to Florida.
For this layout, I used Potpourri for the plane and US map, Just Because Cards for the title to which I welded the mouse ears from Mickey Font, and Paper Pups for the clouds.  I designed the entire page on my Gypsy. The plane was embossed with Diamond Plate, and the clouds with Divine Swirls.  The journal tag is a stamp and the mickey heads are punched.  This album is definitely a work in progress - she sent me over 100 pictures!!!  I'm thinking of making an envelope mini-album to store the pictures that aren't used in the album.  What do you think?
