Cut it Up Challenge #190 ~ White on White with a Pop of Color

Hi Crafty Friends,

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

Since my sister-in-law passed away I host both Christmas breakfast and dinner.  I've always done breakfast but dinner at our house is a newer tradition.  I try to set a festive table for both meals and it usually reflects my fondness for snowmen and snowflakes.

So, this Cut it Up Challenge - white on white with a pop of color - worked well since I chose the Snowflake Napkin Holder from our sponsor, The Dreaming Tree.

The base of the holder is white card stock.  Then I layered the red glitter snowflake base and added the white snowflake cut out of white linen card stock.  I thought the added gems was the perfect finish especially since I have red snowflake mats with rhinestones on the tips to add to the table.

I think these will be the perfect accessory for our table settings.

I hope you'll join our challenge.  The Dreaming Tree has the most amazing cut files and you could be a lucky winner.  Just follow the Cut it Up link above.

Cut It Up Challenge #172 ~ Butterflies or Bugs

Hi Crafty Friends,

This is the first post for a busy crafting Friday!
Our challenge at Cut it Up is Butterflies or Bugs.

The DT members were able to select files from our sponsor,
The Dreaming Tree
I love using these files with my Silhouette.  They have such wonderful dimension and if the project seems complicated, there is a video tutorial for each one.  I made this amazing Dragonfly.

The file comes sized to fit inside a shadow frame but I sized down to make a large card.
I used AC card stock and added pearls to the perimeter.  The dragonfly wings have vellum in the centers or you could used a mirrored or marbled acetate.

I hope you'll join in this challenge.  We're looking for Butterflies or bugs and don't forget a die cut.

Blog Hop! Cut it Up Challenge Blog says THANK YOU to its sponsors.

Hi Crafty Friends,
Welcome to Cut it Up Challenge Blog's
Sponsor Thank You
Blog Hop.
If you're here from Katrina's blog, you're in the right spot.
You'll find the entire line up at the bottom of the post along with some
BLOG CANDY and how to win.
We have many wonderful sponsors who graciously provide prizes for each of our challenges.
We wanted to publicly thank them and also share some of their products.
Each team member has selected a sponsor company and created (and sent) a thank you project using the company's product.
I am personally thanking The Dreaming Tree.
This company has the most amazing cut files and although some may appear complicated, there is video support to help you. Also, there are many free files to get you started.  I use my Silhouette to cut the files and I have a really old model!  Each file has cut like a dream.
I decided to make my thank you card using the DREAMING TREE logo.  I just created a card base with the file.
And here are some past Dreaming Tree projects that I've made:

I have some BLOG CANDY for one lucky person who leaves a comment on  my blog.

is a new stamp company that debuted their first set of stamps in January.  I purchased the entire release and then I won a second stamp which I want to send to a fellow crafter.

Just leave a comment here on my blog and you'll be entered to win.  Winner will be chosen by random draw and announced here on February 22 as part of my Cut It Up challenge post.

Now, on  to the rest of the hop.
Your next stop is TREVA.

Here's the entire line up:

Cut it Up Challenge #158 ~ Halloween

Hi Crafty Friends,

Our Cut it Up challenge for this go-round is Halloween.  Our sponsor, The Dreaming Tree, provided us with files of our choice.  If you haven't visited The Dreaming Tree you are missing out on some amazing svg projects!  They are quite unique yet easy to cut and there is a video tutorial available for each project.  I've created this large 3D Boxed card.  I love it and it was really quite easy.

It measures 5.5 x 9.5 and folds to fit a 7.5 x 10" envelope which comes with the file.  Isn't this a great take on the dimensional box card.  Here it's lighted from behind (there is a cut out) with a pot light.

You can see the dimensional layers a little better from this angle.

and from the side.  I use AC cardstock for the solid colors and Authentique for the patterned paper.
The sentiment is from BugBites (no longer available).

We can't wait to see your Halloween projects.  Follow the link above for a chance to win a gift certificate to The Dreaming Tree.
