Cut it Up Challenge #191 ~ Snow Much Fun

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to Cut it Up's first challenge of the New Year.

Our challenge theme is Snow Much Fun.  OK, I'm not much of a snow person but I do love collecting snowmen and looking at the beautiful snow on mountains.

I made a thank you card using the Fun with Snowflakes file from our sponsor, The Cutting Cafe.

It's a simple design but I love the papers by Authentique and my fave, linen pearl.
The stamp set is from a Simon Says Stamp club kit.
I think popping up the front panel and adding a few sequins was just enough,

I hope you'll join our newest challenge.

Cut it Up Challenge #190 ~ White on White with a Pop of Color

Hi Crafty Friends,

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

Since my sister-in-law passed away I host both Christmas breakfast and dinner.  I've always done breakfast but dinner at our house is a newer tradition.  I try to set a festive table for both meals and it usually reflects my fondness for snowmen and snowflakes.

So, this Cut it Up Challenge - white on white with a pop of color - worked well since I chose the Snowflake Napkin Holder from our sponsor, The Dreaming Tree.

The base of the holder is white card stock.  Then I layered the red glitter snowflake base and added the white snowflake cut out of white linen card stock.  I thought the added gems was the perfect finish especially since I have red snowflake mats with rhinestones on the tips to add to the table.

I think these will be the perfect accessory for our table settings.

I hope you'll join our challenge.  The Dreaming Tree has the most amazing cut files and you could be a lucky winner.  Just follow the Cut it Up link above.

Cut it Up Challenge #187 ~ Celebrate Fall

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's time to Celebrate Fall for Cut It Up's 187th challenge.
It was also time to try some stamping techniques in the creation of this card.

Our sponsor, The Cutting Cafe, provided an entire file containing oval and circle shapes with borders.  Although I have lots of metal dies, it's nice being able to use a cut file in order to size the shapes to any size I need.
I used the wheat stamp which is included in La-La Land Crafts Simple Joys Background stamp set.  The patterned interior is also from that set.  After cutting out the oval border, I stamped it using LLLC's Wood Planks background stamp then popped it up over the oval base.
I hope you'll join us for this challenge.  The Cutting Cafe is providing our challenge winner with her choice of files.  Just follow the Cut it Up link above to play along.

Cut it Up Challenge Blog - challenge #154~Use Your Favorite Color

Hi Crafty Friends,

Our "Use your Favorite Color" challenge has started at Cut it Up Challenge Blog.

I have lots of favorite colors but right now with my daughter's wedding coming up I'm focusing on their colors of blue and soft orange.  Awhile back I shared an adorable teapot I made using Ink on 3s Pansy Tea Party 3D SVG kit

 Today I'm adding the teacup.

Here's both projects together.

This is such a fun set.  I also includes a flowered dome lid for the teacup and an adorable purse.
I hope you'll visit our sponsor's blog to see more of her creative offerings.

I cut these projects using my Silhouette using the file as is.  They were easy to assemble as long as you have a strong, fast drying adhesive.  I used Art Glitter Adhesive and it worked very well.

Come on over to Cut it Up and share your favorite color.

Cut It Up Challenge #80

Hi Crafty Friends,
Welcome to Challenge #80~Oh Brother! (or Sister/Best Buddy)  Make something for your sibling or someone who is like a sibling to you!

Since I'm an only child, I made a card for my BFF using a cut file from Miss Kate's Cuttables.

This is actually a title file but I sized it down to fit a 5x7 card base.  I loved the file as it came and didn't want to add much embellishment so I just went for some simple doodling.  I really like the way it turned out.  The Silhouette always amazes me cutting those tiny circles in the flower centers and on the flourish.  I must admit that the choice of card stock makes a huge difference when wanting small or intricate cuts.  I use Doodlebug or American Crafts when I need these types of cuts.

We were asked to share our "OH BROTHER" stories with this challenge.  My BFF and I have known each other for over 40 years.  We worked to together, first in the same school, and later as Curriculum and Instruction coaches.  We presented workshops together and team taught in our Teacher Education Institute.  We have always been of like minds and just find joy in spending time together.  We retired within a year of one another and still spend lots of time together.  Now we are crafting enablers and are loving our crafty times.

Please visit the Cut it Up Challenge blog and enter our challenge.  Besides following the theme, you must include a DIE CUT.
Our challenge sponsor is As Cute as a Button.  They're offering a $20 store certificate.

Cut It Up Challenge #71 Mist-y

Hi Crafty Friends,
Challenge #71 is up at Cut It Up Challenge Blog.  Along with a die cut, this challenge requires the use of some type of spray mist.  Here's my card:

I have to admit, I'm not very successful using spray mists.  No matter what technique I use, I get blobs!!!  So, I found this specialty paper by Heidi Swapp which has a resist element to it.  I used the random dots piece, sprayed it with Shimmerz Spritz then wiped off the mist that had beaded up and what was left was spray mist on the dots (because that part of the paper didn't resist) - woohoo!  I also used the Arched Card Base from SVG Cutting Files and a flower from Silhouette Online store.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's "So Many Birthdays" set.  I finished with a few gems and some Wink of Stella Brush glitter.  I must add that because of the resist quality of the paper, I had to use Staz-On ink for the sentiment.

Join in our challenge for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate from As Cute As a Button.
Remember, you must use a die cut (manual or machine) and, for this challenge, spray mist of some kind.

Hostess Monday at Digital Delights

Hi Crafty Friends,
It's my turn to post for Hostess Monday at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.
I wanted to share what I call the "Delightful Boys of Summer."  As I was going through my Digital Delights images I found so many adorable boy images.  Sometimes these cards are the most difficult to make because lots of images are feminine.  Well at Digital Delights that's not the case!  Wendy has created as many images for the guys as for the gals.  I decided to pick a few, use the same card base and layout and show you how versatile these images can be.  I didn't add sentiments as they'll go into my stash for those times when I need to grab a card for a special guy.
Let's start with Say Cheese Paul,

and here's Fishing Donnie.

You'll find an entire section of Boys and Men images HERE.
For the card bases I used the Classic Label Card Base from SVG Cutting Files.  I imported the file into my Silhouette and added one extra mat by using the internal offset tool.  The film strip is from the Film Dies set by Jaded Blossom.  The frog and chevron are punches that I have.  Each image was colored with Copic markers.
I'd like to enter the following challenges:
Stamping Sensations:  March challenge - One for the Guys
Challenge Up Your Life:  #10 Masculine

Fishy Kisses!

Hi Crafty Friends,
It's Thursday so that means another post for the Digital Delights design team.  I hope you're taking the time to visit the DT blog.  There are 11 designers sharing their crafty goodness every week using the wonderful images from Digital Delights by Louby Loo.

Today I'm using the Hearty Fish image - she's soooooo cute!

The card base is the Large Scallop Circle Card Base from SVG Cutting Files.  The heart borders were cut using one of the dies from Jaded Blossom's Valentine Dies set.  The papers are from my stash as are the little heart stickers.  I colored the fish with Copic markers.  A twine bow and a Queen&Co Bubble finishes the card.

Digi My World Release Week - Woohoo!

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to the Digi My World BE MINE digital stamp release!
All week long the design team members will have some wonderful inspirational project to share with you on the Digi My World blog!

Today I'm sharing this adorable Giraffe from the new Valentine's Day Animal images.

I fell in love with this ribbon print so I figured why not use a similar print for the heart as well.  Guess I'm taking a little artistic license here with the colors but it would be cute for a boy, right?
All the new images will be released on Friday and can be found HERE.
I also used the new Jaded Blossom Lollipop Die and Lollipops Galore stamp set along with JB Flag Dies and Card Mat dies.
I colored with Copic Markers after printing and cutting the image on my Silhouette.  The papers are from the DCWV Naturals Stack.
