My Besties International Challenge for July ~ Under the Sea

Hi Crafty Friends,
Our OPTIONAL theme for July is Under the Sea.
I hope you'll join in the fun at My Besties International Challenge.
I've used this sweet Bestie Mermaid for my project.
You'll find her HERE.
I'm in love with these Authentique papers which made a great template for my Copic color choices.
I embellished the card using lots of Lala Land Crafts dies:  Under the Sea, Build a Frame, Wave flurry, and Shell Border.
Remember that you may use ANY stamp by any artist.  Winners are selected from both DT members and non DT members.
Just follow the link above to join in our challenge.

My Bestie International Reminder Post

Hi Crafty Friends,

I'm here to remind you that there is still time to enter our March challenge at
My Besties International Challenge Blog.

I hope you like this sweet Easter image.

I colored using Copic Markers.  The egg die is an unbranded one I've had in my stash and I also dug out a Martha Stewart round the page die for the border.

Just follow the link above to join in our challenge and view some really cute DT projects.

Tin Box Baby Album

Good Morning, Blogging Friends.
I hope you're having a wonderful weekend.  My daughter asked me to make a baby album for her former roommate and good friend.  I'd made an album in a tin before but could no longer find the album kit like the one I used.  I browsed the internet and finally found a source for boxes that  will work really well for this idea.  Let me know what you think :).

I gathered papers, ribbons, and embellishments before I began.  Each section is 3 x 5.  I adhered the final page to the bottom of the tin with Terribly Tacky Tape so it wouldn't come out.  I used some dimension on the front side sections and then used flat embellishments and ribbon on the back so the album wouldn't be too thick and the hinged box lid would stay closed.
I purchased 10 boxes (I have requests for more albums) from Specialty Bottle Supply in Seattle WA.  Each box was just under $2.

Mini Baby Album

My husband will be attending a baby shower (he-he) for a young woman at his gym.  Our daughter went to school with her husband.  Anyway, he asked me to make a shower gift for her.  I decided on a mini-album.  I already had this accordian book that came in a tin and lots of baby papers.  I hope she'll enjoy it.

Tomorrow is a new challenge at Delightful Challenges.  I hope you'll visit to see my latest design.

Next week, our Thursday post will be a combined Blog Hop with the Digital Delights by Louby Loo design team.  It will be up for two days to give you plenty of time to visit all the blogs.  You'll have a chance to win a digital stamp from me as well as other prizes if you join in the fun.

Mini Album

I've had these materials on hand for awhile so I decided to make this mini album.  My thinking was that one side would be for journaling and the other for a picture.  I think it would be perfect for a high schooler to record the memories of her first dance or a special date or party.  What do you think?

I can't wait for Friday.  I'm going to a crop at my LSS.  My new cropping friend, Caprice, is going to show me how to stamp and color on acetate.  To see an example, visit her blog: http://craftsbycaprice.blogspot.com/.  She has shared an amazing card and I'm so excited to learn this technique.

An Album for my Hubby

I made this 8 x 8 album as a gift for my husband.  He has raised and trained bird dogs for many, many years and Yaller is his newest acquisition - a two year old English Pointer.  When hubby is busy training and hunting, I have lots of time for my cardmaking so it's perfect for both of us!

The papers have been in my stash for awhile.  I'm always on the lookout for hunting papers and embellishments so that when I have the right pictures, I'm ready to scrap them. Also, this is the first time I've used my Cinch.  It was really simple to use - yay!

I must say, I was pleased by how excited he was about this simple gift.

Hugs and Happy Crafting,
Larelyn
