Jaded Blossom May Challenge ~ Anything Goes

Hi Crafty Friends,

Are you ready for a new challenge at Jaded Blossom?
This month is Anything Goes so you may enter a new project of your choice.  Just remember to use a Jaded Blossom product on your creation.

I love the tiered tray trend and am always looking ahead to my next home decorating theme.
For May, I'm going to be bringing out my patriotic decor and decided to try creating a box sign for my tiered tray.

What do you think?

I used a mini wooden tray from Dollar Tree and painted it white then added card stock and then used the following Jaded Blossom die sets:
Border Dies
Alphabet Dies
Glasses Dies
Star Dies
Banner Dies
Word Dies

I can't wait to get started on my patriotic tiered tray.

I hope you'll play along with our May challenge.  Just add your project to the link above for a chance to win a Jaded Blossom stamp set of your choice.

Jaded Blossom JUNE Sneak Peek ~ Day 2

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to Day 2 of the Jaded Blossom June release sneak peek.

Today we are sharing a new stencil.

I used one of Jennifer McGuire's techniques using our new Germ Stencil. I used Distress Ink Oxide to ink up the paper and then laid the stencil on top.  Then I placed a baby wipe on the stencil and ran it through my Gemini Jr. (using the recommended plate sandwich) several times.  The baby wipe lifts some of the ink off of the embossed image.  I love embossing with stencils and JB stencils work really well for this process.

Here are the products I used for this gift:
Germ Stencil (NEW)
Watch Out for Cooties (NEW)

Always Fun Challenges ~ Anything But a Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have spent a large part of this week cleaning, sorting, and rearranging my craft room.  I finally have enough space to have three small work areas and enough shelving for the majority of my crafting goodies.  I'm the type that likes to have everything labeled but in full view otherwise it's forgotten.

I knew I had been saving Frap bottles, just wasn't sure where.  When I found them, I knew I had the perfect thing for this week's ANYTHING BUT A CARD challenge at
Always Fun Challenges.

A special friend is having a birthday and LOVES cinnamon candies so here's my little gift to her.

This stamp and sentiment is from Darcies.  I used Jaded Blossom's Wine Tag die set and Tropical Flower Die set as well.  I colored using Copics and then added some sequins and tulle.  I know she'll love the sentiment.

I hope you'll join our Always Fun Challenge this week.  Just follow the link above.

Alphabet Characters

Hi Crafty Friends,

I just had cataract surgery and, wowzers, what a bright, colorful world I'm seeing now!!

There is a New Release at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  Wendy has created a complete set of alphabet characters.  The teams are sharing half of the alphabet this month and the remaining letters will be in the June release.  What perfect images for personalized cards and gifts.

I decided on a mini altered composition book (always the teacher).  Wouldn't it be fun for a student to keep a record of all his/her words that start with A (B, C, etc.?)  Here's my project using
A - Mickey Monkey

I colored the image using Copic markers and added Spectrum Noir Sparkle clear to the "A".
The die cuts are from Jaded Blossom's School Dies set.

In Memory of Jack

Hi Crafty Friends,

I wanted to share a shadow box project I made for my husband.
Jack was that ONE dog that every dog lover and hunter dreams about owning.  He was kind, gentle, devoted, and a hunting fool.  Hubby raised and trained him from 7 weeks and he was part of our family for 13 1/2 years.  We will miss him beyond words.

I designed this and cut it on my Silhouette.  I recently updated to Version 3 and it cut like a dream using the default vinyl settings.  I found the images on Google, imported them into Studio and then traced.  I also used the two images at Christmas to make floating ornaments.  I was pleased with how easily the font cut, even the commas and dash.   The background paper is from a hunting set that I ordered online.

Jaded Blossom Sneak Peek ~ Day 2

Hi Crafty Friends,
Are you ready for more Jaded Blossom sneaky peek fun?  Today's sets go in an entirely different direction and are just in time for your holidays.
Here's Baking Dies and Baked with Love.

Eeek!  Don't you love them?
Here's my project.

Did you know you can use Jaded Blossom dies on vinyl?  I cut several of the Baking Dies and adhered them to a Dollar Tree glass board.  The saying was taken from one of the sentiments on the Baked with Love set.  I just mirrored it in Silhouette Studio so I could adhere it to the back.  Of course, this board is for decorative purposes only but you could place something in the center since the vinyl saying is on the back.  The Single Cupcake Window Box is from SVG Cutting Files.  I added stars from Jaded Blossom's Star Dies and stamped this fabulous sentiment onto JB's Treat Tag Die.  I love the way the whole set turned out.  It makes a great little gift and treat.
I'll see you tomorrow for Sneak Peek Day 3!

Don't forget the Gotta Have it Now Package for $134.99

November 2014 Release will include:

6- 4 x 6 Stamp Sets
2 - New Sets of Die
1- 3x3 Freebie
NO PREORDERS! NO BACKORDERS!
No waiting WEEKS for your stamps. WE SHIP ASAP!!!
This Package is only available till Wednesday 11:59pm pst, then will be back up on the store on Friday at 4pm pst during our Stamp Release Blog Hop!

Price for the Release Package will be $148.99 after Sunday Night, 11/16, 11:59pm, pst

More Squarey Monsters

Hi Crafty Friends,
I'm posting another Guest Designer spot on SVG Cutting Files Blog.   I have more Squarey Monsters for you. I hope you've been checking the store to see the newest Squarey Monsters being added almost daily.
Did you know that every Squarey has a story? I'll share two of them today.

My first Squarey Monster is Browzer.

Browzer is a robotic pet  of the robotic monsters from Wonky Island.  These pets are good for environmental purposes.  Browzer uses his scanner eye to find the greenest products, especially packaging made from recycled materials.  Keeping Browzer's story in mind, I chose to recycle a coffee drink bottle and fill it with Jolly Ranchers.  I think this makes a cute little gift.   I used Jaded Blossom's Treat Tag dieMini Tag Dies 2 and a stamp from Got Candy.

And this is Alex E.

Alex E is a Snailien.  He was sent in search of salty planets and he finds Earth to be deliciously salty! The reason it's "lucky" to throw salt over your shoulder is because if Alex E is sneaking up behind you he'd much rather eat the salt than devour you.  To keep Alex E satisfied, I also used the Salt and Pepper cut file.  For the card, I used Jaded Blossom's Card Mat DiesMini Tag Dies 2 and a stamp from Miscellaneous Fun.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to visit Squarey Monsters on Facebook.
And don't forget to join the SVG Cutting Files monthly challenge, "Make a Treat."  You can enter here or on the SVG Cutting Files Galleria Facebook page.

Silhouette and Vinyl - Oh My!

Have I told you how much I'm enjoying owning a Silhouette Cameo?
I absolutely love the print and cut feature, especially for my design team digital images.  I'm also having a great time with the amazing svg files you can find, particularly those from SVG  Cutting Files.  Well, I wanted to make a special gift for a dear friend's 80th birthday.  I have been wowed by the glass block projects being shared on some of the Silhouette Facebook sites so I decided to give one a try.  My friend is a devoted Red Hat Lady and I found this wonderful file in the Pazzles Craft Room.
What do you think?  The images cut perfectly from the vinyl.  The grapevine has some really fine cuts but it was no problem at all.
 With the lights on

I put tule inside to help cover the lights.

I also had an extra Digi My World image sitting on my desk and wanted to play around with paper piecing.  Here's the result using DMW's new release, Birdhouse.
The sentiment tag is a Jaded Blossom die and the sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's new Smell the
Flowers set.

Thanks for taking a look.  It was fun trying a few new things.  I'm glad I could share them with you.

Quick and Easy Gift Bag

Good Morning,
I hope you all had a great start to November.  Hubs and I have both been battling colds so lots of down time around our house!
Well, I hate (yet love) to admit it, but the holidays are upon us and I really need to start DOING rather than just THINKING and PLANNING!
Here's a quick gift bag I designed for my Copic class gals.  One of our ladies graciously gave me a number of her wooden stamps and this is one of them.  I love the primitive feel and thought it would be a simple coloring project for some of my new gals.  We have quite a span from monthly newbies to gals who've been with me for almost 3 years!  I try to design projects where everyone feels successful!

Join me tomorrow for my Paper Crafting World design team post and then again on Wednesday for a sneak peek at another fun and fabulous release from Digi My World.  And don't forget Thursday!  It's time for our monthly new release at Delightful Challenges (Digital Delights by Louby Loo).

Happy Monday!

School is Cool!

Hi Crafty Friends,
I've been enjoying another week with family.  Our youngest daughter has been here for a week but is flying back to Champaign, IL tonight.  It's been a great summer having both of our girls spend time at home.

Today is my day to post at My Paper Crafting so I have two project to share with you.

First is an altered composition book.

I've used Paper Crafting World's Bookworm N Apple digital printable image.
If you love making altered comp books, now is the time to stock up.  I know Staples has them for 50¢.
I've used DCWV's Chalkboard stack for the slate.  This paper is so much fun.  If you use chalk pens (CTMH or Marvy), the writing can easily be erased - even after a month!!!

Next, I created this card using a PCW cut file and my Pazzles.

I've used PCW's cut file Loopy Swirls Card Set and a sentiment from
PCW's Just Because Sentiment Set
These beautiful papers are from DCWV's Mariposa Stack - yummy!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll be back Thursday with my Delightful Challenges post.

Hugs and Happy Crafting,

Chef Luigi

Our challenge today at Delightful Challenges is to create
Anything but a card.
I have always liked this image of Chef Luigi from Digital Delights by Louby Loo and thought it would be perfect on a gift bag.  I think wine, pasta sauce, or a sweet treat presented this way would be a welcome gift.

For this gift bag I've used the following:
Digital Image:  Chef Luigi from Digital Delights by Louby Loo
Paper: Authentique, DCWV Chalkboard Stack
Washi Tape
EK Success punch
Signo White Gel Pen
Crafter's Floss
White gift bag (JoAnn's)

Please join us in our Anything But a Card challenge at Delightful Challenges.
Your project will be entered to win a prize from this week's sponsor

Summer Memories 2012

I finally completed my daughter's memory frame.  I've had the papers and embellishments selected since the end of last summer but I guess I needed her here to decide exactly how she wanted things arranged in the frame.
So here is her memory frame with pictures and embellishments from our lunch on the Napa Valley Wine Train and her and her dad's day at the Giants game.

She left this morning :( after a false start yesterday.  She had a dead battery and dad wanted to replace it so she wouldn't have to worry on her long journey home.
It did give us time to add the Bygel rails, magnet board, and display wire to my craft room.  She's so handy with a drill and I finally have more places to store my punches and supplies that I want close at hand.  No, I didn't run her battery down so she would stay an extra day (but I was sure happy with what we accomplished!)

Have a wonderful weekend!

A Sneak Peek at a new Cut File

I'm so glad you stopped by because I'm really excited to share this sneak peek of a new cut file that will be released at Paper Crafting World on Saturday.
This altered composition book was created using the new Baseball Bear Layout cut file.
Since my daughter coaches softball at Texas Tech University, I had to change things up a little so it would be a softball design.  Easy peasy- I just added the softball title from the Sports Mania cartridge, added a dirt infield, and made the ball a softball by cutting it out in yellow and adding red stitching.  Of course my bear has to wear the Tech colors and the Double T's!

Melin has a wonderful "creating faces: tutorial on the My Paper Crafting blog.  Just click the "How To" tab, then look under All other Tutorials in the drop down menu.
I hope you've been visiting My Paper Crafting to see the daily Sizzlin Summer projects.  Don't forget to sign up for the Newsletter to receive special "subscriber only" specials offered each Saturday along with the newest files being released at PCW.
I'd like to enter this project in
That Craft Place Challenge "It's a Girl thing"
Inspire Me Fridays "Anything Goes"

No Tricks, Only Treats

The Cooking with Cricut (now "Craft with Cutters") designers are sharing Halloween treats.

We've been asked to create something other than a card or layout.  I decided on the altered Frap bottle filled with candy corn.  What's Halloween without candy corn, right?

The cute little pumpkin was cut from Simply Charmed.  I used hand punches for the other shapes. I have so many of these bottles (yeah, I love mocha), I really need to create more projects using them.

We'd love to have you join our challenge and show us your Halloween treat project.  Be sure to use a Cricut cut on your project and link it HERE.

NOTE: please click on the link to get to PCW/CWC as Melin is redoing the blog and links and the old URL for CWC will no longer work.

I'd like to link this project to the Cut It Up "Eek, Boo, Aah" challenge.

I'll be back tomorrow with a new Delightful Challenges project and then again on Friday for
Digi Desserts Fridaze.  Remember that there is always a link to a free digi download on Friday.
