It's time for a new Delightful Challenge and today I'm sharing a technique that I've never done before. The challenge this week is to use paper piecing on your project. I decided that I needed to learn how to paper piece using digital papers and a digital image. I've chosen to use the Spots and Stripes digital papers and the Bee Hive Larry digital image.
Both are available at
Digital Delights by Louby Loo.
So, here's how I completed my card.
Using Microsoft Word 2010, I inserted the different digital papers I wanted to use. Then I inserted the image, clicked the text wrap button to size it and copied it four more times. I moved the images to the paper that I wanted for a particular section and sized the paper to fit that section. Now it's time to print.
The next step was to cut out the different pieces. You'll notice I also prepared the card base, mat, and twine.
I adhered the plain image over the printed image on the cloud paper leaving the wings free to go over the twine.
The cut out layers are added to the image.
The final step is to add the coloring. I used Copic markers on the bee and also to accent different parts of the hive and the honey - see the difference it makes.
A twine bow and a sentiment and my project is complete - woohoo!
