Girl Power!

Yay!  There's a new release at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.
The Delightul gals from the Delightful Challenges team are introducing you to a fabulous set of
Super Heroes!!!  You'll love the entire set which includes the Super Heroes, Super Hero digital papers, accessories, and sentiments.  The challenge theme for this new release is
You're Super (add stars or sparkle)

Here is Brianna Bat reminding us that's it's all about Girl Power!

For the step card background, I layered two of the digital papers and the cityscape from the accessory set.  I created the layers in Word rather than printing and cutting each different pattern.  I printed an extra spotlight so that I could add sparkle and pop it up.  I used a Spellbinders ribbon banner for the sentiment and then traced the die to get the shadow piece.  Brianna Bat is colored with Copics and highlighted with an
atYou Spica glitter pen.  I used the glitter pens to add sparled to the image, the "Pow", and the spotlight.
The stars are punched from glitter paper.

I hope you'll join us at Delightful Challenges.
You could be the winner of a fabulous prize from this week's sponsor

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Paper Playtime "Use Patterned Paper" -  Digital Delights Super Hero paper pack
Tammy's Scrappin Corner "Use a Digi: - Brianna Bat from Digital Delights
Scrap-Creations "Anything Goes"

Paper Piecing

It's time for a new Delightful Challenge and today I'm sharing a technique that I've never done before.  The challenge this week is to use paper piecing on your project.  I decided that I needed to learn how to paper piece using digital papers and a digital image.  I've chosen to use the Spots and Stripes digital papers and the Bee Hive Larry digital image.
Both are available at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.

So, here's how I completed my card.
Using Microsoft Word 2010, I inserted the different digital papers I wanted to use.  Then I inserted the image, clicked the text wrap button to size it and copied it four more times. I moved the images to the paper that I wanted for a particular section and sized the paper to fit that section.  Now it's time to print.
The next step was to cut out the different pieces.  You'll notice I also prepared the card base, mat, and twine.
I adhered the plain image over the printed image on the cloud paper leaving the wings free to go over the twine.
The cut out layers are added to the image.
The final step is to add the coloring.  I used Copic markers on the bee and also to accent different parts of the hive and the honey - see the difference it makes.
A twine bow and a sentiment and my project is complete - woohoo!

You can participate in our paper piecing challenge (it doesn't have to be digital) by linking up to the Delightful Challenges Blog HERE.

Boo Boo Bear

It's a "patterned paper" challenge at Delightful Challenges.  For my project I'm using a digital paper pack from Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  I have such a paper-buying addiction that I didn't think I would like digital papers, but boy was I wrong!  The papers I used for today's card are from the Sweetheart Digital Paper Pack.  These patterns and colors are some of my all-time favorites and the great thing is - I can print them any time I want to use them.  I don't have to worry about running out.

I love Wendy's Boo Boo Bear character.  I used the teacup design on an earlier project.  Here's Boo Boo holding a small bouquet - so cute!  Bazzill Polka Dot ribbon and some pearls finished the card.

These amazing digital papers and Boo Boo Bear can be purchased at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.
Have you noticed the blinkie on my sidebar which highlights Wendy's weekly free and bargain images.  It's a great way to explore working with digi's.  There's a new image every Friday.

I hope you will join in this week's challenge.  Vist our challenge blog to see the other patterned papers projects shared by our design team.  Then, link your patterned paper challenge project to the

This week's challenge winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to

I'd like to show you two cards I designed for Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  Wendy added several new sets to her online store and asked several designers to create samples using the sets:  Lonely Pups Set, Lonely Pups Accessories, Pampered Paws Digital Paper Pack, and Missing You Sentiments.
I think these images are perfect for the latest iCopic Weekly challenge #70 which is to share your best animal coloring using Copics.

The sets are available in the store now.  You can see more cards using these sets HERE.
