Cut it Up Challenge #333 ~ Critters

Hi Crafty Friends,

Here's the last challenge for June at Cut it Up Challenges.

Our theme for this challenge is CRITTERS.
We want to see a critter on your project and don't forget that you must also use a die cut somewhere on your project.

Here's my card.

This cutie is a die set from Spellbinders called Baby Dinosaur.  I also used Altenew's Floral Laurel 3D embossing folder, Pinkfresh Studio's Notched Corner Frames, and Betterpress "A Little Message" sentiment set with die.  I decided the dino needed a little grounding so I also used Janded Blossom's Spring die set for the grass.

I hope you'll play along with us.  Just add your project to the link above.

The Outlawz Festive Friday Challenge ~ October 2024

Hi Crafty Friends,

There's a new challenge open at Festive Fridays.
We always have 4 themes for you to choose from.  This month's themes are:
Christmas
Fall Colors
Halloween
Playing in the Leaves

Here's my project.

I was playing around with different techniques for this one.
I foiled the leaves foil plate onto heat resistant acetate then attached the panel to the card base under the 3/4 inch flap to which I added a heat embossed sentiment.  I used an Altenew 3D embossing folder for the inside panel.  I've placed a panel on the back for a personal message.  I love the foil on acetate!

I hope you'll play along this month.

Cut it Up Challenge #307 ~ Critter (Real or Fantasy)

Hi Crafty Friends,

Our next Cut it Up Challenge is CRITTERS.  Yours can be either real or make believe.

I've used Spellbinders adorable Dancing Birthday Panda to make my critter card.

The legs are a separate die cut that wiggle when attached with a dimensional circle.
I also used a Spellbinders 3D embossing folder for the background and Pinkfresh Studio Nested Arches for the mat.  The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Panda Butt set.

I hope you'll play along.  Remember that our Top Cuts for each challenge are featured on our Facebook Community Page and you'll have a chance to become a Guest Designer if you'd like.

Pearly Sparkles February Challenge ~ Have a Heart/Love

Hi Crafty Friends,

Time for a new Pearly Sparkles challenge.
Our February challenge is "Have a Heart/Love".  It's open for your interpretation.

Here's my design team project.

I used a mini stencil that was in the Spellbinders Advent Calendar and added hearts instead of flowers.  All of the hearts were in my die cut stash.  The sentiment with matching die cut is from Jaded Blossom.

I stenciled on Spellbinders card stock using Pinkfresh Studio inks.

I hope you'll play along with us this month.  Just link your project using the link above.

Cut it Up Challenge #294 ~ Anything Goes

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's our final challenge of 2023 at Cut it Up Challenge Blog.
We know you're either super busy with the holidays or worn out (LOL) so we'll keep this challenge easy:
ANYTHING GOES.

I'm sharing two of the 7 money holders I made for holiday gifting.
The design was inspired by a project Kristina Werner shared during Altenew's Cozy Comfort Retreat.

The decorated belly bands hold the wallet closed.  The dies cuts and sentiments are arranges on a circle cut from velum and glued to the belly band.  There is a pocket inside to hold the bill(s).

I hope you'll play along with us.

We will be holding an open Design Team call for 2024.
Information can be found on the CIU blog or you can email me at
cutitupchallenges@gmail.com

Happy New Year 2024!

Cut it Up Challenge #276 ~ What's in Your Garden?

Hi Crafty Friends,

Cut it Up Challenge #276 is What's in Your Garden?

We're finally getting some spring weather here in Northern California so we are beginning to see trees blooming and flowers growing.

Here's a project featuring my favorite flowers ~ daisies.  The die set is from Spellbinders.

I cut the entire die set using 100# white card stock and then ink blended the pieces using Distress Ink Oxides.  The background is a Jaded Blossom Stencil and so is the grass and sentiment.

Hope you'll play along with us for this challenge.

Cut it Up Challenge #274 ~ Add Embellishments

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's time for another Cut it Up Challenge. Our challenge is to ADD EMBELLISHMENTS.

I love using enamel dots, sequins, ribbon, Nuvo Drops or Stickles on my projects.
Recently I've been using some of the new Spellbinders flower die sets.  They have lots of little pieces but when put together they are really pretty.
For this card I used the Sealed Wildflowers set.

I created the background by blending 3 Distress Ink Oxides and adding a spritz of water.
Rather than using colored cardstock for the flowers and leaves, I cut them all out of Hammermill Cover Copy 80# white cardstock and then colored them using Copic Markers.  The flower centers are Diamond Dots.  I also added some clear acrylic dots and a bow.  I'm so happy with the way it turned out.

There will be a mystery prize package with this challenge!!!
Just leave a comment on the Cut It Up Blog.  You don't have to enter a project to be eligible but you do have to have USA mailing address.  If you are adding an entry, be sure you also comment.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll visit the CIU blog and also play along with us.

Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers ~ December Sketch Challenge #29

Hi Crafty Friends,

The December Sketch is up on the {BYSH}Cardmakers Facebook Group.
It's a really fun sketch with so many possibilities.  Just right for your dash to your 2022 Christmas cards deadline.

Here's my first project.
I love white on white and the pops of gold just make it special.  The panels were created by running LaLa Land Crafts' It's Snowing stencil through the Cuttlebug.  The dimensional die cut is Spellbinders Reindeer Prance Layering set popped over the stitched frame from Jaded Blossom's Triangle Card Mat.  I actually cut off 4 of the interior stitched lines in order to follow the sketch.

We hope you'll play along with us this month.  Just upload your project to the album for Sketch 28.

Here's the sketch for inspiration:
I'll be back with a second project later this month.

Pearly Sparkles' September Challenge ~ Pink, Pearls, and Sparkle

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's September and time to honor and remember our blog challenge founder, Traci. She loved anything pink especially with pearls and a little sparkle so that's our Pearly Sparkles' September challenge theme.

I have been wanting the Spellbinders Big Bold Blooms die set for awhile so I finally ordered it.  I can see why it's so popular; it's really fun to use.  The flower clusters made the perfect focal point on which to add some pearls and sparkle.

The sentiment, which is heat embossed with a clear sparkle powder, is from Jaded Blossom.

I hope you'll play along as we celebrate Traci's life with this challenge.

Tea Time?

Hi Crafty Friends,

We have such a fun theme at Cut it Up Challenge Blog today.  For challenge #114 we're thinking wonderful winter HOT DRINKS!  I really followed the rules on this one.  Since it's required to follow the theme and use a DIE CUT, I used  a bunch!!!  Take a look.

LOL, I love metal dies so I was going through all my sets (ya know, that point where you've got to explore because you've honestly forgotten what all you have?)  I'm usually pretty CAS, but I thought it would be fun to break out of that mold and add touches here and there.

Here's what I've used:
Jaded Blossom:  Word dies - cut out of toner paper and foiled, Scalloped Rectangle Dies
Memory Box:  heart
Sizzix: tea pot and cup
QuicKutz:  crate
Spellbinders:  fancy labels, cut in half

Some flowers, leaves, ribbon and ink to add a few extra touches.

Thanks for stopping in.  You can join our challenge by linking your HOT DRINK project above.

Please welcome our new sponsor:
Newton's Nook Designs.
