Pearly Sparkles September Challenge ~ Traci's Recipe (Pink, Pearls, Sparkle)

Hi Crafty Friends,Welcome to Pearly Sparkles' Traci's Recipe Challenge.
Each year we honor our founder's memory by hosting a challenge that include her favorite things: the color pink, pearls, and sparkle.
Here's my card that includes all of Traci's faves.

The stenciled florals, sentiment, and shape die cuts are from Pinkfresh Studio.  The embossing folder used for the mat is from Altenew.

Sketch Saturday ~ Sketch Challenge #756

Hi Crafty Friends,
Here's another fun sketch for you to use for Sketch Saturday's challenge #756.
I used my Spellbinders Betterpress System to create this card.

This press plate has 5 separate plates.  It actually is like a cover plate when using all the plates but I cut it down in order to create a card that follows the sketch.  I used Betterpress cotton and BP inks so I could get that deep etched look that makes these plates so unique.  

I also used Jaded Blossom Rectangle Dies, Pinkfresh Studio Nesting Arches, and Altenew Board planks 3D embossing folder.

Cut it Up Challenge #309 ~ Clean and Simple

Hi Crafty Friends,
Our theme for Cut it Up Challenge #309 isCLEAN AND SIMPLE.
I love layers and lots of die cuts so this is sometimes a difficult theme for me but I also love seeing cards with simple, clean layouts.  I've used Pinkfresh Studio products for this A2 card.I couldn't help myself!  I did add extra layers to the sentiment and popped up the butterfly LOL.

Pearly Sparkles May Challenge ~ Cats and Dogs

Hi Crafty Friends,Wowzers!  It's May already.  Our weather in Northern California still can't decide whether or not it's spring or winter.  80 degrees today and Saturday, 60 degrees and rain.  Ugh!
We have a fun new challenge at Pearly Sparkles ~ Cats and Dogs.
Here's my project.

I used the Peek-a-Boo Window die from Whimsy stamps and an image from My Favorite Things Four Legged Friends stamp set.  I think this makes a cute shaker card.

Pearly Sparkles April 2023 Challenge ~ Creatures Great and Small

Hi Crafty Friends,
Happy April!  Our new challenge at Pearly Sparkles is perfect for all you critter lovers.Just add a critter (of any kind) to your project and join in our challenge.
I love the amazing variety of critters offered by Whimsy Stamps and chose these adorable pandas to create this card.  The slimline die and the OMG dies are also from Whimsy.

I used my Gemini Jr. to cut all the dies (there are outline dies with the panda stamps) and colored using Copic Markers.

Pearly Sparkles' September Challenge ~ Pink, Pearls, and Sparkle

Hi Crafty Friends,
It's September and time to honor and remember our blog challenge founder, Traci. She loved anything pink especially with pearls and a little sparkle so that's our Pearly Sparkles' September challenge theme.
I have been wanting the Spellbinders Big Bold Blooms die set for awhile so I finally ordered it.  I can see why it's so popular; it's really fun to use.  The flower clusters made the perfect focal point on which to add some pearls and sparkle.

The sentiment, which is heat embossed with a clear sparkle powder, is from Jaded Blossom.

Pearly Sparkles March Challenge ~ For the Girls

It's March 1 so time for a new challenge at Pearly Sparkles.This month we want to celebrate our gal pals, girlfriends, special women in our lives, you know where I'm going with this, right?
I love sentiments that are encouraging and/or support the uniqueness of an individual.I chose The Rabbit Hole Designs Turtle Botanical set for this reason.
Here's my card.

I colored using Copic Markers.  The 3D embossing folder is from Altenew.  I embossed on pearlized paper and then ink blended using Altenew Bamboo ink.  The card mat frame is also from Altenew but I cut off some of the inner parts to allow for the embossed background.

Cut it Up Challenge #236 ~ PINK

Our Cut it Up Challenge #236 is all about PINK!  Be sure to use pink on your project along with a die cut.
Here's my card using several stamps from our challenge sponsor,CAS-ual Fridays.

The sentiment is a combination of two sets; Flower Duo and Hope Ribbon Stamps

The small flower is also a part of the Flower Duo (die included.)

The inside background mat was stamped using the Flowery Background stamp.I also used Altenew's Daisy 3D embossing folder for the front mat and Jaded Blossom's Panel Die for the sentiment strip.

If  you're here from MARCIA'S BLOG you're in the right place, if you're just passing through start at the beginning because you don't want to miss a thing.  I also have the complete line up at the bottom.
Here's my HOP project using our new FLORAL COFFEE ART and the HELLO HELLO stamp set.

I love using gold detail embossing powder but have found it's difficult to use on ink blended backgrounds.  The powder seems to stick everywhere.  For this project, however, I used Distress Ink (not Oxide) which is a dye ink.  Not only did it go on smoothly, the embossing powder didn't seem to stick to the background.  The gold flecks you see were flicked on using lots of water and my gold metallic paint.
Now, more about this fabulous release!

Pearly Sparkles May Challenge ~ Clean and Simple

It's time for the Pearly Sparkles May challenge.
This month we'd like to see your Clean and Simple creations.
Here's my design team project using a wonderful stamp created by Jennifer Dove.Her stamps are now available at Whimsy Stamps.

Jennifer's stamps appear detailed but they are truly simple to color.  I used Copic markers.The frame is from Whimsy stamps.  I cut it out using card stock and then 3 layers of chip board to give the frame dimension.  The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps' Cute Cacti set.

Woohoo!  Spring has arrived and we're celebrating at Cut it Up with a spring challenge.Show us your projects that have flowers and/or butterflies.
Here's my slimline card using one of the new Diamond Press die/stamp sets ordered through HSN.

I used a Gemini Jr. to cut the dies and the MISTI stamping tool to add the sentiment which I then heat embossed.  The tiny butterflies are part of Jaded Blossom's Spring 2 die set.
