Pearly Sparkles April Challenge #61 ~ Animals/Birds and/or Insects

Hi Crafty Friends,

Wowzers!  It's April 1st and, no fooling, it's time for a new challenge at
Pearly Sparkles
Our April theme is ANIMALS, BIRDS, and/or INSECTS ~ a good one for spring, right?

I'm still in the Easter treat making mode so here's my candy bar slider project.

How cute is this "bunny butt?"
The design was inspired by Irina of LaLa Land Crafts who designed this fabulous Build a Bunny die cut set.  The candy bar slider file and scalloped rectangle is from Jaded Blossom.  I use this slider file for so many treat gifts!  I used Neenah Desert Storm for the treat holder and  Authentique for the mat.  Such a quick and easy project.

I hope you'll join us for this month's challenge.  We love seeing all of your fantastic ideas.

Pearly Sparkles September Challenge ~ Traci's Recipe

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's time for our special September Challenge at Pearly Sparkles,
This is the month we use Traci's Recipe:  Pink, Pearls, Sparkles - the things our Dear Traci loved most when crafting.

Here's my project:

The sentiment and tag are from Jaded Blossom. I heat embossed the sentiment using gold ink and clear embossing powder. The tea set dies are from LaLa Land Crafts.
I think it all goes together to make a very sweet friendship card.

I hope you'll join this month's challenge as we remember and honor Traci.

Masculine Sympathy Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

My hubby asked me to create a sympathy card for a long time friend who recently passed away.

I think sympathy cards are often difficult because so much emotion is involved.
Hubby wanted something that was representative of his friend.  His friend loved to fish so I used this amazing DoveArt (for Whimsy Stamps) stamp to create this card.

I have used this image (Large Mouth Bass) before and colored it with Copic markers.  This time I just stamped it with colored Momento ink and then heat embossed it.

To create the background I first blended Distress Ink Weathered Wood onto Cryogen paper.  Then I stamped and heat embossed the image.  I placed the LaLa Land Crafts Water Ripples Stencil over the image and ink blended again with the same Distress Ink.  I really like the effect of the background.
I used LaLa Land Crafts Stitched Build-a-Frame Dies and  LLLC Wood Planks Background Stamp set to create the picture frame.  I ink blended Distress Ink Vintage Photo onto kraft paper, cut out the frame pieces, then inked up the background stamp using Distress Ink Walnut Stain and stamped the pieces.  For the sentiment, I used Jaded Blossom Simple Sayings.  I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment onto a gold metallic tag I cut using JB Mini Tag Dies 2.  I think adding the gold brads really make it look like a picture frame plate.  Finally, I added some twine with a gold leaf charm.
I matted the "framed picture" onto gold metallic and added that to the card base.

I'm pleased that this sympathy card has a personal touch representative of the man who passed.

Thanks for stopping by,

Here's my project using a sentiment from our challenge sponsor,

I printed the sentiment since it was a digital file and then die cut it.
The ice cream cone is from LaLa Land Crafts and the border die is from Jaded Blossom.

Pearly Sparkles July Challenge ~ 3 of a Kind

Hi Crafty Friends,

Are you ready for July's Challenge at Pearly Sparkles?

Our challenge is "3 of a Kind."  How fun will that be?

Here's my project.
My daughter requested a special sympathy card. I was inspired by a project we made during the
LaLa Land Crafts Make & Take held at my local scrapbook store.  Most of the dies and all of the stamps for this card are from LLLC.

This card fits in a standard business envelope.  There will be extra postage because I used lots of layers both outside and inside.  I love layering!
Did you find my 3 of a Kind?  I used 3 layered pointy flowers with Nuvo Drops centers.  The oval mat behind the angel was stenciled.  The marbled background is a LLLC background stamp.  The angel was stamped on heavy card stock and then fussy cut.

I hope you'll join in this month's challenge.  Just follow the link above.

Happy July and thanks for stopping by,

Cut it Up Challenge #198 ~ Our Beautiful Earth

Hi Crafty Friends,

Our Cut it Up challenge celebrates our beautiful earth.

I hope you are staying safe and well during this worldwide pandemic.  It's strange that during all this illness and fear, our cities are taking a break from the pollution that so often affects the air.  We are seeing clearer skies and brighter stars.

I created this mini shadow box featuring a quote from Lady Bird Johnson.

The background is a digital background from our sponsor, Digital Delights by Louby Loo.
I also used Jaded Blossom's Flower Dies and Scalloped Rectangles.  The World Heart is from LaLa Land Crafts.

Please follow the Cut it Up link above to join in our challenge.
The winner will receive a gift certificate from
Digital Delights by Louby Loo

Cut it Up Challenge #194 ~ Favorite Color

Hi Crafty Friends,
Welcome to challenge #194 at Cut it Up Challenge Blog.
Our project for this challenge is to use our favorite color(s).
I love lavender and purple and when paired up with green, I'm in heaven.
I used my favorite combo to make this birthday card for a very special friend.

The card design was inspired by a Make n Take put on by Irina of La-La Land Crafts, but I did use more than LLLC dies.  The pierced dot frame dies were provided by our sponsor, STAMPlorations and I just love them!

All the dies were cut on my Gemini Jr.  The card has a number of layers.  The top 3 were popped up so I could put space between the acetate behind the window and the tree on the next layer.  I also cut chipboard layers for the birdcage and window ledge to give more dimension.

I hope you'll join our challenge and share your favorite color!

Our sponsors for this challenge are
STAMPlorations ($20 gift code) and Creative Embellishments ($50 gift voucher)

Pearly Sparkles ~ January 2020 ~ Anything Goes

Hi Crafty Friends,
Happy New Year!!!
Our first challenge of the New Year at Pearly Sparkles is
ANYTHING GOES.
I love making cards for my relatives and special friends.  I shared a wedding card that I made for a young woman that we've known since she was little.  Today I'm sharing the shower card I made her.
Once again, I tried to include the things that were meaningful to her, succulents, Indian lore, outdoors.
All of the dies except the bracket die are from La-La Land Crafts.  I also used two LLLC background stamps to create the patterned papers.  I colored the succulents using Prisma Colored pencils.
The design of the card was inspired by a card from Irina Blount for a La-La Land Crafts Make n Take held at our local store, Memories for the Making.
I hope you'll start this new year by joining in our Pearly Sparkles crafty challenge.

Cut it Up Challenge #189 ~ Anything Goes for Christmas

Hi Crafty Friends,

Our Cut it Up Challenge #189 is sponsored by Newton's Nook.
I purchased an adorable flamingo holiday set and used one of the images for this card.

I think it's so much fun when you're looking for a non-traditional image and color scheme.

The mats were cut using La-La Land Crafts postage stamp dies and the leaves are also LLLC dies.  I colored using Copic Markers and added some enamel dots for accent.  The flamingo footprints also come with the set.

Come on over and share your Christmas projects with us.  You could be the lucky winner of a gift certificate from Newton's Nook.

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #450 ~ Winter is Coming

Hi Crafty Friends,

For Die Cuttin Divas Winter is Coming challenge I used some of my favorite dies from
La-La Land Crafts.  It's so easy to build scenes using LLLC dies.

I just love the mercury glass background paper.  It came in a stack I purchased at Hobby Lobby.
All of die cuts were cut using the Gemini Jr. using White Linen card stock from Paper Temptress.

Please share your winter cards with us by following the link above.

Cut it Up Challenge #188 ~ Tic Tac Toe

Hi Crafty Friends,

We're playing Tic Tac Toe for Cut it Up's challenge this week.
You'll find the Tic Tac Toe grid below.

Right now, I'm making Christmas cards every chance I get so it was easy to use my Tic Tac Toe choices to create yet another Christmas card.

I chose

The hills are a La-La Land Crafts stitched hill border die and so is the flag.  The trees and button were in my stash.  The designer paper is Cozy Plaid by Carta Bella.
You can see that I chose the right hand column: button, border or banner, and designer paper.

Come and play along with us.

Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #444 ~ Anything Goes!

Hi Crafty Friends,

Well, the nasty cold bug visited our household and the hubs and I have been down for a week - yuck!
I know I'm really under the weather when I can't even spend time in my craft room.
I think we're on the mend and I'll have several crafty posts for you this week.

Our 5th Tuesday challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas is always ANYTHING GOES.

This is a birthday card I made for my hubby's great friend who loves fishing.
The stamp is from Whimsy Stamps and created by Jennifer Dove (LOVE her!)

I colored the bass using Copic Markers.  The stitched mats are Jaded Blossom dies and the sentiment and flag dies are from La-La Land Crafts.

I'm so happy with the way this turned out.  I colored a second one for another masculine birthday using a slightly different layout.

Please join us for our ANYTHING GOES challenge.  Just follow the link above.

Hi Crafty Friends,

Just when I thought fall was actually here, our weather is back in the 80s - ugh!
Well maybe the FAB FALL challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas will help!

I've used dies from several of my favorite companies, La-La Land Crafts, Jaded Blossom, and IO, for this card.  I especially love this truck because I can fill it with pumpkins, trees, or hearts depending on the season.  I cut everything using my Gemini Jr.

Be sure to visit the DCD blog.  Our guest designer has posted two AMAZING projects that you must see.

Hi Crafty Friends,

Can monsters be adorable?  At Die Cuttin' Divas we think so.

I created this card using a cute girl monster from the Silhouette Design store.

I also used a number of dies from La-La Land Crafts to embellish the card.  I think it's cute in a freaky sort of way.

So, show us your adorable monsters.  Just follow the link above.
