Cut it Up Challenge #249 ~ Easter or Make Your Own Background

Hi Crafty Friends,

For this Cut it Up Challenge you have a choice: Easter or Make Your Own Background.
Of course, I decided to incorporate both themes into my card :)

Our challenge sponsor, DRS Designs, provided this sweet stamp, Tails Up Bunny, for me to use.

I used the Jaded Blossom Cloud stencil to create my background.  The card mat die is from Pretty Pink Posh.  I cut it out in both pink and green and then fussy cut the leaves and paper pieced back onto the pink mat.  The image was colored using Copic markers.  I added a Jaded Blossom sentiment and a few sequins to finish the card.

Please join us for this challenge.  Remember to follow the theme and include a die cut for a chance to win a gift coupon from DRS Designs.

Cut it Up Challenge # 220 ~ Color Challenge/Black and White with a Pop of Color

Hi Crafty Friends,

Our Cut it Up challenge for this time is Black and White with a POP of color.  I hope you'll join in the fun and share your project by linking to the Cut it Up Blog.

Here's my project:

I used a Stamp Anniething stencil to ink blend Hero Arts white pigment ink onto black paper.  Then I cut out this cute flower using the Whimsy Stamps Peony Die set.  I inked the edges for a little added dimension and added a brad center (yes!  I still use brads occasionally!)  The sentiment is heat embossed onto a strip cut out using one of the Jaded Blossom Flag Dies.  I used Bo Bunny card stock.  The Double Dot line is still one of my all time favorites.

Can't wait to see your project!

Jaded Blossom's Halloween Release ~ Final Sneak Peek

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I'm sharing a project made using our final item in the Jaded Blossom Halloween release
sneak peeks.
I hope you have the Clear Jar Stamp set because here is another Add On for your collection.

I moved away from cutesy for this project and let a little bit of the creepy/scary in.

I couldn't resist this bottle of "Skeleton Bones" candy so it became the inspiration
for my project.  All of the stamping was heat embossed for shine and dimension.

Jaded Blossom products used:
Clear Jar- Halloween Add On (NEW)
Mesh Stencil (NEW)

Our Halloween Release Blog Hop begins at midnight.  It will be your chance to purchase all of the release items and get the freebie stamp set, RIP, if your purchase is $40 or more before tax and shipping and to visit each design team member's blog to see even more fun and fabulous release week projects.

Here is today's final sneak peek set and also the freebie set.

Masculine Sympathy Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

My hubby asked me to create a sympathy card for a long time friend who recently passed away.

I think sympathy cards are often difficult because so much emotion is involved.
Hubby wanted something that was representative of his friend.  His friend loved to fish so I used this amazing DoveArt (for Whimsy Stamps) stamp to create this card.

I have used this image (Large Mouth Bass) before and colored it with Copic markers.  This time I just stamped it with colored Momento ink and then heat embossed it.

To create the background I first blended Distress Ink Weathered Wood onto Cryogen paper.  Then I stamped and heat embossed the image.  I placed the LaLa Land Crafts Water Ripples Stencil over the image and ink blended again with the same Distress Ink.  I really like the effect of the background.
I used LaLa Land Crafts Stitched Build-a-Frame Dies and  LLLC Wood Planks Background Stamp set to create the picture frame.  I ink blended Distress Ink Vintage Photo onto kraft paper, cut out the frame pieces, then inked up the background stamp using Distress Ink Walnut Stain and stamped the pieces.  For the sentiment, I used Jaded Blossom Simple Sayings.  I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment onto a gold metallic tag I cut using JB Mini Tag Dies 2.  I think adding the gold brads really make it look like a picture frame plate.  Finally, I added some twine with a gold leaf charm.
I matted the "framed picture" onto gold metallic and added that to the card base.

I'm pleased that this sympathy card has a personal touch representative of the man who passed.

Thanks for stopping by,

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

Today's card is for the K is for Kitties challenge at Snarky Stampers.

I just love The Rabbit Hole Design's Caffeinated Kitty and I thought she'd be perfect for this challenge.  I also thought the sentiment from La La Land Crafts Hello Lovely Background stamp set would put a snarky smile on your face!

I colored using Copic Markers and cut the image out with the Scan n Cut2.  The tag is from the La La Land Crafts tag set.  I stamped the mat using LLLC  Hello Lovely Background set and stenciled the large mat with LLLC So Many Dots stencil.

There's still time to follow the Cut it Up Challenge Sponsor Thank You Blog Hop.

Die Cuttin' Diva's Challenge #405 ~ Anything Goes

Hi Crafty Friends,

We're finishing off the month of January with an Anything Goes challenge at
Die Cuttin Divas.

I've been spending lots of time in my craft room going through sample projects and all of my wonderful supplies.  Today's project was inspired by a card we created at the La La Land Crafts Retreat in November. At the retreat we made a fall themed card but I took the design and turned it into a Valentine card.

When you open this card there is a pop up element that holds a gift card!

I used the following La La Land Crafts products for this project:
Coffee Cup die,
Filegree Hearts
Filegree Bow
Shabby Flourishes
Long Flag dies
So  Many Dots stencil set

I also used a sentiment from the Jaded Blossom Fancy Valentine set.

Have some crafty fun and join us in our Anything Goes challenge.  Just follow the link above.

Cut it Up Challenge #156 ~ Birthdays

Hi Crafty Friends,

Here's another challenge from Cut it Up Challenge Blog.

Our theme is Birthdays.  You can never have enough Birthday cards in your stash.  I know my hubby and daughters always ask to see my Bday stash when they need a card and, yes, they've even chosen ones to give back to ME!

Here's my card using the Birthday Frog image from our sponsor, A Day for Daisies.

I've been trying to use some new techniques and or supplies that I have.  On today's card I used  the Birthday Balloon Stencil from Craftin Desert Divas for my background.  The frog was colored using Copic markers and then I added Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle to the hat along with some polka dots made using a Signo white gel pen.

Come on over to Cut it Up Challenge Blog and join in the fun.

Kitty Bee Designs ~ DT Spotlight

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's the 4th Tuesday so it's time to share my DT Spotlight project for Kitty Bee Designs.

Unicorns are such a rage right now and this Unicorn Panda is just too cute.
I cut it out using my Scan N Cut2 and then colored with Copics adding sparkly accents with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.  The background for the image was created using Distress Oxide inks over a stencil from Craftin Desert Divas.  The dotted papers are from Doodlebug Designs.

You can find the image by clicking on the link.

Thanks for stopping in today.

Guest Designer for Pause, Dream, Enjoy

Hi Crafty Friends,
I am so thrilled to be one of the Guest Designers for Pause, Dream, Enjoy Challenges.  This week's challenge theme is Birthdays.
It seems I always need masculine birthday cards.  I created this one for my brother-in-law.
The background was created with the Sun Ray Stencil (My Favorite Things) which I inked in with Distress Inks.  I used a Jaded Blossom Tropical Die for the "sand."  The other die cuts are from La-La Land crafts.  I used an old DCWV Rustic Stack for the papers for the die cuts.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's So Many Birthdays.
This is the first time I've used a stencil for a background and I love the effect.  I'll definitely be using this technique again!
Thank you, Janis, for allowing me to share my design on your blog challenge.
Please visit Pause, Dream, Enjoy Challenges to join in the fun.
Thanks for being here!

Hugs and Happy Crafting!

Challenge Reminder ~ My Besties International Challenge Blog

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today's post is just a reminder that you still have plenty of time to join
My Besties International Challenge for August.  The optional theme is Nautical.
Remember, you can use any image from any artist.  There will be prizes given to DT members and NON members.  So what are you waiting for?  Come on over and join the fun at
My Besties International Challenge Blog.

Here's my reminder project.

I used Besties Sailor Boy.  You can find the image HERE.

The design idea came from Simon Says Stamp Sail Away With Me Kit inspiration. I stenciled the background using Distress Ink and then stamped the waves from the SSS stamp set.  The sailboat was a die included in the kit.  Sailor Boy was colored using Copic Markers.

I hope you'll join our challenge!
