Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge Debut

Hi Crafty Friends,
It's finally here - the first challenge post for Open-Minded Crafting Fun.  Every-other week the design team will be sharing projects using images from 4-5 different sponsors.
Our very first Challenge Theme is
Use a New Toy or New Technique

My project uses an image by Milk Coffee Digital Stamps called Soya Takes a Nap.
The new toy I used for this project is my eBosser!  I love using metal dies and the eBosser makes it so easy to use multiple dies in one cut AND there's no cranking!  Woohoo!
The dies I used are Spellbinders Lacy Squares and Le Papillions Two.  I also used a Die-Namics flourish.

For my technique I'm using the Marbleized Background (Copic markers) as taught by Marie Gamber for Color Me Creative.  I hope you can see the wonderful sparkle on various parts of my card.  I used my new favorite product Wink of Stella brush glitter on the fairy's wings, the butterfly, the flower tips and the edge of the mat.  I love, love, love this product!

I would like to invite you to join in this new challenge.  Just visit Open-Minded Crafting Fun, view all the fabulous projects presented by our wonderful design team members and then link up your own project.  Each sponsor is offering a prize so you'll have multiple chances to win.

You Are a Blessing

Woohoo!  Time for another post for Delightful Challenges using images from
Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  Our theme for the week is
Celebrate with Glitter, Bling, and Sparkly Things.
Today I created a monochromatic card using the Tiger Lily from the Flower Set.

Here is what the complete set looks like:
Flower set

All of the mats on this card come from the Spellbinders A2 Fancy Postage Edge set.
The glitter paper is DCWV and the polka dotted paper is My Mind's Eye.  The lily is colored with Copics.
I used Distress Ink around the inside edge of the image mat.  I had the gems and sparkly brads in my stash along with the American Crafts ribbon.

Please join us for this week's challenge.  Just link your project to Delightful Challenges for a chance to win  3 sets from this week's sponsor

I designed this card to enter in the following challenges:
DL Art Thankful Thursday "Summer"

Cas-ual Fridays "Polka Dots"

Thank You Step Card

I created a step card for this week's My Paper Crafting Sizzlin Summer project.
The step card allowed me to add lots of layers and dimension.  The main feature of the card is a delightful digital image, Christel Bear Holding Flowers, from  Paper Crafting World.

This step card measures 5.5 x 10.5 scored at 1.25, 2.5, 4.25, 6, and 8.25.
I added an embossed (Cuttlebug Polka Dots) 4.25 x 5.5 mat to the back step.
Here's a list of products used for this project:
Digital Papers (Polka Dots)  Owl Always Love You Paper Pack  from Paper Crafting World.
Digital Stamp  Thank You Sentiment Set from Paper Crafting World
Cardstock  DCWV Linen Closet
Spellbinders Dies  Labels 17, Les Papillions Two, Grand Scalloped Rectangles
Elizabeth Craft Die  Curvy Leaves
EK Success  Trellis Border Punch
KaiserCraft rosebuds
Adhesive Lace

Time to join some Challenges!

I spent all day yesterday at a crop at my LSS.  After preparing my Copic Class kits, I had time to create a nice stack of cards specifically for some challenges I wanted to enter - woohoo!  I haven't be able to do this for quite awhile.
So, here are two of the cards I made:

I made this first card for the My Craft Spot "Cute as a Bug" challenge.  I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch for the layout.  I love this little hedgehog image - so sweet.  I cut the Spellbinders circles on my new eBosser,  I know, am I too lazy to crank the Cuttlebug or Grand Calibur?  Well, the answer is YES.  This machine makes die cutting so easy and I love the 8.5x11 platform.  I'm also entering this card in the Fun-day Friday Challenge "Critters and  One Stop Craft Challenge "for a Friend."

The next card I made is for my new grand nephew who was born on June 5.
I found this image while searching for a fairy image for the
Tuesday Throwdown "Fantasy" challenge.  I just had to make this card to welcome Parker to the family.
I also want to enter this card in the Sister Act "Anything Goes" challenge.

I hope you'll visit tomorrow for a few more challenge cards I made while at the crop.

A Little Bit of This and That

Good Morning, Blogging Friends.

Please be sure to read the final note at the end for a link to an amazing site if you love entering your designs in challenges.

Hubby and I had a nice anniversary.  We went out to dinner without going off our food plan and received anniversary phone calls from both of our daughters, so it was a good day!

Here's the CAS card I made for the hubs.  I used my eBosser (anniversary gift to myself LOL) to cut the mats and flourish using some of my Spellbinders dies.  The sentiment is a My Creative Time stamp (love the quality of Emma's stamps!).  The paper is DCWV Bella Armoire.

I have been cruising around bloggie world to update my Challenge notebook.

CHALLENGE NOTEBOOK? you ask.

Yes, I'm a little binder crazy and I made a binder with weekday dividers.  On the cover sheet of each divider I list some of the challenge sites and their blog addresses.  Then behind each divider I have printed 9-box charts, one for each week.  I can write what each challenge is in the boxes and include any notes, recipes, sketches, etc. needed to follow the challenge guidelines.   This way, I can go through my book and see which challenges might coordinate and design projects accordingly. I also mark which ones I want to make projects for and then the ones I actually entered.  I can also add ideas for die cuts, digis, stamps, layouts, etc. that I want to use - the charts are great for planning
 (I AM a planner!!)

THEN
I met a blogger who led me to the most amazing site.
FELINE PLAYFUL
The name is misleading but if you love challenges, you really must visit.
Chris has a team of volunteers who list all the challenges and winners everyday!!!
It's unbelievable - you'll find all the information you need for almost every challenge out there and it's updated every day.  And, if you enter challenges, you can check back for the list of winners.

Have a lovely weekend!  I'm heading for a twelve-hour crop so I'd better finish packing my crafty goodies!
