Cut it Up Challenge #294 ~ Anything Goes

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's our final challenge of 2023 at Cut it Up Challenge Blog.
We know you're either super busy with the holidays or worn out (LOL) so we'll keep this challenge easy:
ANYTHING GOES.

I'm sharing two of the 7 money holders I made for holiday gifting.
The design was inspired by a project Kristina Werner shared during Altenew's Cozy Comfort Retreat.

The decorated belly bands hold the wallet closed.  The dies cuts and sentiments are arranges on a circle cut from velum and glued to the belly band.  There is a pocket inside to hold the bill(s).

I hope you'll play along with us.

We will be holding an open Design Team call for 2024.
Information can be found on the CIU blog or you can email me at

Happy New Year 2024!

Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers ~ Sketch Challenge #40 Project #2

Hi Crafty Friends,

Hopefully your 2023 cards are in the mail so now it's time to get ahead for next year.

At BYSH we don't quit because it's late December.  I'm sharing my second design team make for sketch 40.  You can find more inspiration  on the BYSH blog HERE.
You'll also find inspiration on our FaceBook page HERE and this is where you can link up your own entry for the challenge.

Here's another project using my Spellbinders Betterpress system.

After pressing the image onto watercolor paper using Betterpress ink, I used watercolor brush pens to color in parts of the image.  The image would easily stand alone, but it's fun to experiment with color as well.

Here's the challenge sketch for you.

I'm looking forward to having you join in our challenge.  You still have time to enter.

Cut it Up Challenge #293 ~ Celebrate

Hi Crafty Friends,

What's more fun than a Celebration?  I'm always looking for reasons to create cards and a Birthday celebration is the most common, but oh so fun when you create something for a special person.

Today's Card uses the fun and fabulous Whimsy Stamps Cheers and Beers set.
I think it's perfect for our Cut it Up theme.

This is one of those sets that can be used again and again.

I hope you'll play along with us.  I also wanted thank you if you've been playing along this year.
It was scary taking over ownership of a blog and we've been so happy with the participation even without sponsors or prizes.  Card makers are special and are willing to share just for the love of the craft.

THANKS SO MUCH.

Cut it Up Challenge # ~ More than one Die Cut

Hi Crafty Friends,
It's time for a new challenge at Cut it Up Challenge Blog

For this challenge we're asking you to use MORE than one die cut.

Here's a fun birthday card.

I've used products from Whimsy Stamps, Jaded Blossom, and LaLa Land Crafts.

I hope you'll play along with us.

Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers ~ December Sketch #40

Hi Crafty Friends,

Woohoo!  It's December.  I love the Christmas holiday; family traditions, decorating, gifting, and sending all the cards I've been making for this design team.  It feels so good being ahead of the card making.
They are all finished and ready for mailing.  If you've been playing along with us, you should have a pretty good stash as well.

At BYSH we don't quit because it's December.  We have a new sketch for you and today I'm sharing my first design team make.  You can find inspiration for the new challenge on the BYSH blog HERE.
You'll also find inspiration on our FaceBook page HERE and it's also where you can link up your own entry for the challenge.
I used Betterpress Letterpress plates for both the image and the sentiment.  It's amazing so see the press up close.  Using a good water color paper really accent the press.  I used Ranger Archival inks for both.

Here's the challenge sketch for you.

I'm looking forward to having you join in our challenge.  Remember, it's open all month.
