Bear with Heart

  Woohoo!  Here's another card created using my Pazzles and this adorable cut file from Paper Crafting World.  I made it for today's Die Cut Tuesday post at My Paper Crafting.

Happy Birthday to my Darling Daughter

  Today is my oldest (I'm sure she's hating THAT term) daughter's birthday.  Since she's in Texas and I'm in California, her gifts have to be sent.  I do try to add a little creativity so here's what I sent. I made the accordion book using the Mini Book cartridge (which was featured on My Paper Crafting's Cartridge Showcase Monday).  

  I cut everything at 3 inches for the envelope and accordion pages.  Then I cut 3 extra sets of pages in gray, patterned paper, and white at 2.75 inches.  That gave me 3 sets of mats to choose from and all I had to do was cut apart the ones I wanted and adhere them to the base pages - sure made matting easy and perfectly sized!  All the papers and embellishments are Cloud 9 (on sale at J's, woohoo!).  The stamps are CTMH- part of the Cricut companion collection. I really like the way this album folds up and "latches" itself and then slips nicely into the envelope which is large enough to hold the mini that has mats and embellies on each section.   Along with the gift cards, I included aroma therapy bath products, an electric wine opener, and a box of hand selected See's Candies (they can't buy See's in Lubbock!).   Happy Birthday, Aly.  You are so loved and make us proud to be your parents everyday.  

Projects for Copic Class

    This month we'll be using Elizabeth Craft Designs stickers and Glitter Ritz to create our cards.  Instead of filling in each section with a different color glitter we'll use our Copic Markers. It's a fun process with great results.  Here are the samples that we'll be making in class.  

We'll be using the negative pieces from each sticker to add to the inside.   The Copics work well with the glitter but it's important to not overblend since the alcohol in the ink can dissolve the glue on the sticky tape.  For this process, you should use light feather strokes rather than circles.  Also, it's important to burnish the glitter well so that the surface feels almost like velvet.  Your pens won't get ruined!  Not all microfine glitters can get a smooth enough texture so as not to ruin your brush tips.  Again, we're using Crystal Glitter Ritz.   I hope my gals will enjoy the projects and want to make more.  

I Lava You

    Isn't that a cute sentiment?  And I fell in love with this adorable image from Paper Crafting World.  I knew I had to use it for my Digi Desserts Fridaze post at My Paper Crafting.   You can find this image HERE. The paper is from an odd stack I found at Tuesday Morning several years ago.  I used Spellbinders Labels 1 for the mat and generated the sentiment from my computer.  The image is colored with Copics and highlighted with Stickles and a silver Signo pen.   When you visit My Paper Crafting you'll find a link to this week's free digi download:   I hope you'll join our Link Up at MPC for a chance to win a digital image of your choice from Paper Crafting World.

Sweet - Thinking of You

  We're sharing "Thinking of You" cards at Delightful Challenges today. I chose the Sweet Ginger image from Digital Delights by Louby Lou.  It's part of the Christmas collenction but I think it makes a "sweet" Valentine card as well.

Just for Fun

  I finally had a chance to create a card just for fun - no challenge, no DT project - just pretty paper and a pretty digi.  The layout is loosely based on a card I saw in the Just Cards magazine.

Cupcake!

  It's Digi Desserts Fridaze at My Paper Crafting.   Remember that there is always a FREE digi file for you to download when you visit. Here is a card I made using the FREE file.  After coloring the cake and frosting, I paper pieced the cupcake wrapper.

Tag, You're It!

    It's Delightful Challenges time!  This week's challenge is to create a TAG or add a tag to your project. I used one of the Valentine Toppers from Digital Delights by Louby Loo to create my tag. Bundle Up, Baby

    It's Wonderful Wednesday at My Paper Crafting.  The CWC (craft with cutters) gals are sharing Cricut projects that feature winter items to keep you warm and cozy.   I chose this darling cap from the Winter Woodland cartridge.  The papers are Echo Park and Bo Bunny.  I added Frosted Lace Stickles for a furry effect and heat embossed the sentiment so it would show up better. The ribbon is American Crafts.   You will see more projects when you visit MPC.  This is our challenge day so be sure to create your "Bundle Up" project, including a Cricut cut, and add it to the post.    Off to a card class at my Local Scrapbook store - fun times!!!  

Raggedy Bunny

  Good Morning Crafty Friends,   Today is Die Cut Tuesday at My Paper Crafting.  Although I'm on the Crafts with Cutters team and coordinate the Digi Desserts Fridaze gals, I decided to try my hand at Melin's cut files as well. This cutie is Bunny Raggedy with Hearts and she can be found at Paper Crafting World by clicking HERE.   I have a Pazzles Inspiration cutter which I got recently and was so excited to finally sit down and create with one of Melin's fabulous cut files.  I really like the way this project turned out and am so glad to be learning more and more about my Pazzles.  Her files come in lots of different formats so they can be cut with almost any cutter that works along with your computer. And, don't you love Raggedy's dress?  It's from my new Authentique paper pack - just love those papers!   There are more cut file projects for you to see at My Paper Crafting.  You'll also see some of Melin's newest cut files. And, just like Fridays, Melin is offering a free cut file for you to download.   I'll be back tomorrow with a Crafts with Cutters project created using a Cricut cartridge so I hope you'll be back as well.   I'm entering this card in My Craft Spot's "Anything Goes" challenge. You Melt My Heart

    It's Digi Desserts Fridaze at My Paper Crafting.  I have two really cute digi images to share with you.  

I just love these Authentique papers and had fun finding just the right Copic colors for my Snow Couple Kissing.  You can find this digi image HERE.

 

 

This second image is the FREE digi being given away with today's post at My Paper Crafting.  I used the pre-colored version.  When you pick up your free download, you'll receive a pre-colored image with a sentiment and one without, along with the black and white line art with and without the sentiment.

Add Hearts

  Woohoo!  It's time for a new image release at Digital Delights by Louby Loo. The design team members at Delightful Challenges are introducing all the new characters and inviting you to join our "Add Hearts" challenge.  

This is the adorable "Cupid Kiddle." Isn't she sweet?  The papers are from American Crafts and the sentiment is from the "Love is in the Air" sentiment set. You can find the entire new release HERE.   Funny story:  I went to a crop Friday night and only took digi images to color and my Copics.  I had decided to spend the entire evening coloring.  Well, I always select my papers and design my card before I color - it helps with selecting pen colors, right?  But, I decided to work a little differently that evening.  Uh-huh!  I wasn't at the store 15 minutes before I found myself walking around looking for papers and figuring out a layout.  Mind you, I have enough paper at home to fill a store. I found this great paper and borrowed supplies to put my card together before I started coloring.  Awww, I guess I'll never change - I love being able to select my markers based on my papers - oh well!   Visit Delightful Challenges to see even more projects using the new images.  Then, you can add your "Add Hearts" project to the link for a chance to win a $15 gift certificate from

   

I Feel the Love

  This week the Cricut designers at My Paper Crafting are making cards to donate to the I Feel the Love Project.  The cards are going to the students in Ms. Soto's class.  She was the amazingly brave and strong teacher who put her students first in trying to protect them from the gunman at Sandy Hook School and lost her life in doing so. I used the Boys will be Boys cartridge for the wagon and several punches for the hearts.  The doodling was done with my Signo white gel pen and the sentiment was computer generated.

  Good Morning Crafty Friends! I created a really quick and simple card today to encourage you to join in the My Paper Crafting Digi Desserts Fridaze Link Up party.

  Melin designed this digi in honor of Three Kings Day on Saturday.  It's an image of the frankincense bush, frankincense being one of the gifts offered by the Three Kings to the Baby Jesus.   We're starting something new for Digi Desserts Fridaze.  YOU can link up your own digital project for a chance to win a free digi from Paper Crafting World.  All the details can be found HERE. Happy New Year and Some News

  Woohoo, the craft room is set up and I'm starting to design again.  Wow, two weeks without crafting seemed strange but having our daughters home for the holidays was DEFINITELY worth not having the time or room to craft!!!   Today is just a note about what's happening in the New Year.   First of all, I've been asked to be the Senior Designer for Delightful Challenges (challenge blog for Digital Delights by Louby Loo).  I've been designing for Wendy for over a year and I am thrilled to be able to step up and take this position.  What it really means is that I'll be doing half of the Delightful Challenges posts which will be up every Thursday beginning January 10.   Woohoo, Blogger and I are becoming fast friends.   Next, I will continue to coordinate and post Digi Desserts Fridaze  for My Paper Crafting featuring digital art from Paper Crafting World.  We've added some amazing new digital designers so please plan to visit every Friday. Besides getting to see Melin's newest digital releases, there will be a free download every week.  This year we're inviting YOU to participate in DDF.  Each week there will be a link up button so you can add your digital design project.  You may use any digi but if you use a Paper Crafting World digi, you'll be given an extra entry.  One crafter will be selected each week to receive a free digital image from Paper Crafting World.  And, to make it easy for you to add your project, Melin has created a permanent tab on the My Paper Crafting blog to gain easy access to the DDF post.    Get ready to join in the fun, it begins tomorrow, January 4.
