In Memory of Jack

Hi Crafty Friends,

I wanted to share a shadow box project I made for my husband.
Jack was that ONE dog that every dog lover and hunter dreams about owning.  He was kind, gentle, devoted, and a hunting fool.  Hubby raised and trained him from 7 weeks and he was part of our family for 13 1/2 years.  We will miss him beyond words.

I designed this and cut it on my Silhouette.  I recently updated to Version 3 and it cut like a dream using the default vinyl settings.  I found the images on Google, imported them into Studio and then traced.  I also used the two images at Christmas to make floating ornaments.  I was pleased with how easily the font cut, even the commas and dash.   The background paper is from a hunting set that I ordered online.

Many Thanks

Hi Crafty Friends,
Challenge #74 for Cut It Up Challenges is now open.  The new theme is "Stuck on You."
Along with using a die cut, we're asking you to use a sticker(s) as well.
For my card I dug into my stash and found some Mrs. Grossman's sentiment stickers along with some pretty Martha Stewart butterflies.

I used papers from DCWV's Marisposa stacks.  I've also used Spellbinder's Lacy Oval die, Lawn Fawn's Stitched Rectangle dies, and Jaded Blossom's Border Dies along with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and Doodlebug Designs sprinkles - gold collection.
I hope you'll join our challenge.  Just link your project to Cut It Up Challenges.
This challenge is being sponsored by
Robin's Nest who is offering a $20 gift certificate.

Delightful Thursday

Hi Crafty Friends,
It's Delightful Thursday at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.
Today I'm sharing the Footballer Scottie image.  Digital Delights has some fabulous "guy" images.  You really need to check them out.  You'll find the perfect image for almost any occasion you want for your masculine cards.
This great patterned paper is by Best Creations.  I colored Scottie with Copic Markers.  I used Jaded Blossom Flag dies for the banner and Spring dies for the grass.
Starting next week at Digital Delights there will be TWO design teams sharing projects and we'll start a monthly challenge on the last Thursday of the month.  I think you'll love the changes we have planned.

Birthday Blooms

Hi Crafty Friends,
Today's challenge at Clear It Out Challenge is YOUR STYLE and the stash item is your favorite crafty item.  Here's my project for challenge #84:
I would say my style is CAS but I do love layering mats to accent my patterned paper.  My favorite craft item is ribbon - I have it stored everywhere LOL!  The ribbon I used today is my own handmade crinkle ribbon using Ranger die inks and seam binding. I also used Jaded Blossom Flag Dies and a JB sentiment from the Seeds of Friendship stamp set.  The image is Dogwood Flowerpot pretties from Lacy Sunshine, today's sponsor.  If you enter this week's challenge, you'll have a chance to win 3 images from Lacy Sunshine.  Link your MY STYLE project HERE.

It's a Jungle Out There

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's Delightful Thursday and time to share another delightful image from
Digital Delights by Louby Loo.
Today's card uses Jubbly Monkey.  There is an entire set of adorable Jubbly Animals in the
Digital Delights store.

The patterned paper is a double sided piece from the Kaiser Craft Say Aloha set.  The leaves were punched with the Martha Stewart giant leaf punch.  I purchased the flower from my local craft store.
As always, my image was colored using Copic markers.

There are some exciting changes that will take place on Digital Delights blog come July.  We'll be introducing TWO design teams and will also reintroduce a CHALLENGE - woohoo!  You won't want to miss our DELIGHTFUL changes.

Thanks for stopping in today.

Surf's Up!

Hi Crafty Friends,
It's my design team day at Digi My World.

Here's my card using Surfer Boy Corey.

My daughters laugh when I tell them that I used to surf waaaaaay back when!  And, my hair looked almost the same color; dark roots and sun bleached tips.  Of course, then, we used to rub fresh lemon in our hair to get it to bleach.  Awww, the good ole days.

I used Copic markers to color the image.  The papers are from the Carta Bella 6x6 Beach Boardwalk pad.  All I added was a twine bow

Thanks for taking a look.

Like Nerds and Glasses - Challenge #83

Hi Crafty Friends,

Time for Clear It Out Challenge #83.
The theme is  HOLIDAY representing the colors of your country.  The stash item is METAL EMBELLISHMENTS.  Our sponsor, SLS Lines provided the image, Hipster

In keeping with the theme, I decided to go USA Patriotic in a hipster, nerdy sort of way.  I decided to paper piece the shirt.  The rest of the image is colored using Copic markers.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's We Go Together set.  My metal embellishments are the silver metal star brads.

Be sure to stop by the Clear it Out blog (linked above) for more fun projects and to link up your own.

Stars and Stripes

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's time for Challenge #73 at Cut it Up Challenge Blog.
This challenge is STARS AND STRIPES.  Remember that you must include a die cut.

Here's my project:

I've used a number of goodies from Jaded Blossom on this card:  Star Dies, Dimensional Banners Dies and Celebrate America stamp set.  The papers and enamel stars are from Doodlebug Designs.
You'll notice that I used both the positive and negative cuts from the Star Dies.  The striped patterned paper is popped up slightly to give a little more dimension to the negative cuts.  My trusty Cuttlebug was used for all the die cutting.

This challenge's sponsor is As Cute As A Button.  They are offering a $20 gift certificate.
Just link your STARS AND STRIPES project to the challenge blog.  Don't forget to include a die cut!

Beach Babe Britt

Hi Crafty Friends,
Today is my day to share a Hostess Monday project for Digital Delights by Louby Loo.
I have been on a shaker card kick having learned an easy way to make shaker cards that are relatively flat so they're easy to mail.
The image for my card is Beach Babe Britt.

The shaker part is a made from a piece of cellophane bag.  I cut out the center of the sun with the circle part of the die cut after cutting and mounting the rays on the card.  The circle was cut all the through the layers including the card base - a little bit tricky because it was so thick.  Then I taped the circle die onto the piece of cellophane bag and partially sealed it with the WRMK Fuse tool just following around the outside of the die.  Then I filled the pocket with sequins and finished sealing it with the Fuse.  The pocket is adhered between the mats and card base.  The inside mat shows through to provide a background color for the shaker pocket.  Here is a link to the tutorial where I learned this technique:
http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2015/04/video-window-shaker-card-blog-hop-giveaway.html

Along with "Britt", I've used Jaded Blossom's Spring Dies 2 for the sun and Tropical Dies for the seashell and sand.  The cloud paper is from Echo Park.  Britt is colored with Copic markers.

I hope you've enjoyed my card.  You can use almost any die shape to create the shaker pocket.  Give it try - it's so much fun.

This month's release has a lot of variety so I'm sure you'll find an image that will "delight" you!

Dumpling is colored with Copic markers.  I added Wink of Stella to the bubbles for a little sparkle.

Happy B-Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to my design team day for Digi My World.
 I hope you're having a Bee-utiful day!  Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Here's today's design team project:

This little Bee just makes me smile.  I remembered I had this honeycomb embossing folder and the Jaded Blossom stamp set, Love Stings so it just came together as a clean and simple card.  Some organdy ribbon, Scrapper's Spool twine, gems, and one of the JB Mini Tag Dies 2 and it was all good.

Don't forget Digi My World is having a DESIGN TEAM call.  Read all about it HERE.

New Project - New Team

Hi Crafty Friends,
Well I did it!  I joined another design team!  I am now a proud member of the
Clear It Out Challenge team.  So what's my rationale?  I seem to get more accomplished when I have lots to do (that's my story and I'm sticking to it) and with this weekly challenge group not only do I get to use digis from lots of different artists (including Digital Delights by Louby Loo), but (and here's the best part) this challenge provides a weekly challenge theme AND a craft stash item that must be used.  See, I'm de-cluttering while I create LOL.

So, for my debut project I'm using Elephant Love from Bugaboo Stamps.
Challenge #81 is Anything Goes and the STASH item is Anything Goes - now that's a pretty simple challenge, right?  Just sit down and create and hop on over to Clear It Out Challenge to play along.

The hubby and I are celebrating our 46th Anniversary this month so I think this will be his card.  The papers, ribbon, and enamel sticker are all from my stash.  I colored with Copic Markers and used my EKSuccess corners punch for the photo corners.
