Cut It Up Challenge #72 - Father's Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

I'd like to share my project for Cut It Up Challenge #72 - Happy Father's Day.

The challenge is to use a Tie die cut.  I found this wonderful tie gift bag in the Silhouette Online Store.  It's a really nice sized bag and was so easy to put together.  The only thing I changed was to add an internal offset to the tie so it would have a nice mat behind the patterned paper.

The patterned papers are from Authentique.  I used Kraft card stock for the actual  bag.  I thought the added buttons were a great embellishment.   Hmmm, wonder what treat will go inside for hubby?

This challenge is being sponsored by May Arts.  The prize is two spools of ribbon of your choice.  Just link your entry to the Cut It Up blog for a chance to win.  Remember, you must use a tie die cut on your project.

Delightful Thursday

Hi Crafty Friends,
I am so excited to share my card for Delightful Thursday at Digital Delights by Loo.
I've joined a group on Facebook called Stamping Enablers where I've been learning many new things and have been guided towards new videos, techniques, and tools.
I've used a new technique and tool on this card which features Driving Mr. Scottie from the Digital Delights store.
This is a pocket shaker card designed after watching a video tutorial by Jennifer McGuire.
The shaker pocket was cut from a clear cellophane bag and sealed using the WRMK Fuse.  I love that you don't have to use foam tape for the shaker pocket and that the finished card is essentially flat - easy to mail.  I just popped the Copic colored image right in front of the shaker pocket.  The patterned paper on the inside of the card shows through helping to complete the scene.  All the patterned papers are from Authentique.  I used Spellbinders circles for the cutout and a chevron border punch for the "road".  The sequins are from Doodlebug Designs.
Here's a look at the FUSE.  Just google to find the best price.
I'm entering the following challenges:
City Crafter Challenge Blog:  #263 Sequins
Fan-Tastic Tuesday: #87 Add Some Texture
Tuesday Throwdown:  #246 Anything Goes

This set has lots of fun summer images and there are two more sets featuring different little girls.

Cut It Up Challenge #71 Mist-y

Hi Crafty Friends,
Challenge #71 is up at Cut It Up Challenge Blog.  Along with a die cut, this challenge requires the use of some type of spray mist.  Here's my card:

I have to admit, I'm not very successful using spray mists.  No matter what technique I use, I get blobs!!!  So, I found this specialty paper by Heidi Swapp which has a resist element to it.  I used the random dots piece, sprayed it with Shimmerz Spritz then wiped off the mist that had beaded up and what was left was spray mist on the dots (because that part of the paper didn't resist) - woohoo!  I also used the Arched Card Base from SVG Cutting Files and a flower from Silhouette Online store.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's "So Many Birthdays" set.  I finished with a few gems and some Wink of Stella Brush glitter.  I must add that because of the resist quality of the paper, I had to use Staz-On ink for the sentiment.

Join in our challenge for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate from As Cute As a Button.
Remember, you must use a die cut (manual or machine) and, for this challenge, spray mist of some kind.

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's another Delightful Thursday at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.
Today I am using two images from the Cruising Digital Stamp set.

Here's a look at the entire set.  I'll be sharing a few more images next month.

Hi Crafty Friends,

There's a new release at Digital Delights by Louby Lou and the Delightful Thursday gals are showcasing the new images.  My image is Princess Simi.

I added a sentiment from the Magical Winter Sentiment set.  The card is the Wavy Card Base from SVG Cutting Files.  Besides using Copic Markers to color the image, I also added lots of Wink of Stella brush glitter and some VersaMagic Chalk Ink.  I love this paper by Bella Blvd.

School's Out!!

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today is my turn to post for the Digi My World design team blog.  I'm sharing one of the cute images from theSchool's Out Dolly set.  This set has four character images and lots of fun extras and can
be purchased HERE

The patterned paper is from Doodlebug Designs - their paper is so adorable!  The stars and apple are Doodlebug Design stickers and the washi tape on the flag is also Doodlebug Designs.  I also used Jaded Blossom's card mat dies and flag dies.  Dolly is colored using Copic Markers and the tiny twine bow was tied on my bow maker that I got from Lisa Fish at A Mermaid's Crafts.

I'm so glad you stopped in today.

Huge Birthday Wishes and some great news to share

Hi Crafty Friends,

Here's my card for today:

I made this card for two very special reasons.  First, a good friend just celebrated her birthday and I wanted her to have one of my handmade cards.  And, secondly, it's a DESIGN TEAM card for
Cut It Up Challenges!!!  That's right, I'm now a member of the
Cut It Up Challenges design team - woohoo!

Today kicks off Challenge #70 - Paper Piecing.  Along with a die cut, you must also include paper piecing within a stamped image.

I love Cut It Up Challenge Blog because, along with following the bi-weekly challenge theme, you must include a die cut,  cut with either a manual or electronic cutter.  Well, you know I love my Cuttlebug and metal dies AND my Silhouette and Cricut, so this is the perfect new team for me.  I'll be posting every other Friday.

For my first DT project, I used the Mini Tag Dies 2 and Tropical Dies from Jaded Blossom as my die cuts.  I've had this cling stamp in my stash for a long time (sorry, I don't have the packaging that says where it came from) so I colored it up with Copic Markers and paper pieced the balloons using Doodlebug Designs paper.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's Go Wild set.  A few enamel dots, some twine and doodling and that's it.

I hope you'll visit Cut It Up Challenge Blog to meet the new designers and join in the crafty fun!
