Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers ~ Sketch 39 Challenge Project 2

Hi Crafty Friends,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I'm still in a turkey coma but I'm also looking forward to getting the house decorated for Christmas.

Challenge #39 for Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers is still open.
There is time to share your entries to our Facebook Group HERE.

Here's my second design team project.

I used a 3D embossing folder to create the background and accented the centers and berries using Sparkle pens.  The foil was added by placing 1/8th inch double sided tape line along the design and pressing it onto the strips (not heat set foil).  Worked like a charm and I didn't have to use my Minc which would have flattened the embossing.
The sentiment was made using a Betterpress plate and gold foil card stock.

Here's the challenge sketch for you to follow.
You can lots of inspiration on our Facebook page and also on today's BYSH blog post HERE.

Cut it Up Challenge #291 ~ Friends and Family

Hi Crafty Friends,

Time for Cut it Up challenge #291 ~ Friends and Family
Can you believe we only have four more challenges left in this year?  Time flies!!

Here's my card for this challenge.

I tried a new technique on this card, embossing on velum.  I used a 3D embossing folder from Altenew.
I ink blended some fall colors on 80# smooth card stock and then added the velum over it.  I lightly brushed some Altenew white pigment ink over the embossing to emphasize some of the design.  The scalloped frame is from Jaded Blossom and the sentiment was created using a Betterpress letterpress plate.  I cut the sentiment outline out three times and slightly offset each layer for some added detail.
A twine bow and some Spellbinders gold embellishments finished the card.

I hope you'll play along with us.  Just follow the link above.

Cut it Up Challenge #290 ~ Layer it Up

Hi Crafty Friends,

Time for a new Cut it Up Challenge and it's one of my favorites ~ Layer it Up.
Layering is one crafty technique that I use on almost every one of my projects.

Here's my card using images and a sentiment created using the Spellbinders' Betterpress.
It's my newest crafty toy and I'm loving it.  I've never used the letterpress process but this new tool really makes it easy.

I began by inking up a Ranger Water Color panel using Distress Inks.  I added Archival Burgandy ink to my Betterpress plate to get the leaf images.  After using the companion dies to cut out the leaves, I used water and a brush to add splatters and a little color release.  Using the water color paper allows the Betterpress to give a deep stamped impression.  I also used a Betterpress plate for the sentiment stamping and pressing on gold foil paper.  It's been fun experimenting with different papers, inks, and other mediums to create some interesting results.
I hope you'll join in our challenge and show us your Layered Up project.
Just follow the link above.

Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers ~ November Sketch #39

Hi Crafty Friends,
It's the start of a new month so we have a new sketch challenge at BYSH.
You have all month to share your entries in our Facebook Group HERE.

Here's my first card for this month inspired by a card we made during the Pinkfresh Studio Create and Connect Workshop.  I love this snowflake with its matching stencils and die cut.  So many ways to used it.

I embossed the stamped image with white embossing powder before I inked it using the stencil and Altenew crisp inks.  Then I cut the snowflake in half (an idea shared in the class.)

Here's sketch #39 for your inspiration:
We can't wait to see what you link up.
