The Merry Christmas Challenge #5

Hi Crafty Friends,

Are you sticking with your goal to continue making Christmas cards year round?
I love thinking that I might be ahead of the game for next Christmas.

Today's The Merry Christmas Challenge optional theme is Wreaths.
I usually design my cards including papers and embellishments and then color my image.  However, for this card I had the image already colored with no card in mind.  I made it into a card which included a wreath and the more I looked at it, it just didn't make creative sense to me so ...
off came the image and using a new selection of papers and sentiment, here is the final product.
Good thing a wreath is optional - maybe another time, another card.

This cute little Santa Monster is from Sherri Baldy's My Besties.  I colored using Copic Markers and added Frosted Lace Stickles to the hat.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's Christmas Signs set.

Always Fun Challenge #43 ~ Fairies and Monsters

Hi Crafty Friends,

For this week's Always Fun Challenge I just had to use Jaded Blossom's Fairy Sweet image.

Isn't she adorable?

The paper is from my stash - a really old DCWV stack, I think.  The die cuts are from La La Land Crafts.  I colored using Copic Markers and added some Spectrum Noir Sparkle.

Cut it Up Challenges ~ Organization

Hi Crafty Friends,

Do you love organizing?  I LOVE to organize, especially in my craft room.  I guess it comes from my many years of teaching.  Our theme for Cut it Up Challenge #140 is organization.  It can be of any kind.  Our sponsor, My Scrap Chick, provided us with some fabulous files for organizing.  Be sure to visit the blog to see all of them.

I chose to make a post it note holder.  I'm addicted to Post It notes.  I use them for everything.  So, what better thing for me to make than an Post It holder for my craft room table?

This was so easy to cut and assemble.  I sized it to fit 3" Post Its and added a cute flower from my stash.  I plan on making more for different areas of my home.  And, wouldn't this make a fabulous gift for Teacher???

Always Fun Challenge #42 ~ Wedding or Anniversary

Hi Crafty Friends,

I chose to make an anniversary card for AF Challenge #42.
Jaded Blossom has these fun "We Go Together" stamp sets, perfect for an anniversary.

I cut the embellishments using my Cuttlebug.  The donut is a LaLa Land Crafts die and the coffee cup is from Jaded Blossom's Coffee Dies.  I also used JB's Card Mat dies and Panel Dies.  Just some fun sequins and cute patterned paper from Doodlebug Designs finished the project.

I've had this fun Authentique paper pad for quite awhile so I'm glad I'm finally getting to use it.  I think the paper and these fabulous dies from LaLaLand Crafts made a really cute card.

Cut It Up Challenge #139 ~ New Year's Goal or Resolutions

Hi Crafty Friends,
At Cut it Up Challenge Blog we're sharing our goals or resolutions for the New Year.
I'm not too fond of actual resolutions but I am definitely a goal setter so that's what my project reflects.
I have used a Design Team Planner (from The Cutting Cafe) for several years.  A planner makes being on multiple design teams a lot easier to stay organized and on top of posting dates.
Prior to the holidays I had my projects completed well in advance (sometimes a month) and it felt so good to know I was on top of my game.  Not so much since Christmas so my GOAL is to get back to working ahead and avoiding the last minute panic.  This is a new cover for my DT Planner.
The adorable images are from a Clip Art file called Henry and Crystal Love Scrapbooking  from our sponsor, Kitten Scraps.
I printed the images using my Canon printer then cut them out on the Scan N Cut2.
The wording was created in Word.
So come on over to Cut it Up and share your resolutions or goals with us.  You could win a gift certificate from

The Merry Christmas Challenge ~ 2018 #1

Hi Crafty Friends,

Time to keep going (or start fresh) with your holiday cards!!!
I'm having so much fun with The Merry Christmas Challenge because it's actually keeping me on top of my holiday cards.  I send well over 60 and I want them all to be handmade.
So, let's get started with cards for 2018.
This year our challenges will have an optional theme. This week's theme is Happy New Year.
You don't have to follow the theme to enter - you'll find that sometimes I won't either.
So here's my first card for 2018.

This adorable snowman is from Digi My World and I colored him using Copic Markers.

Follow the link above to join our challenge and stay on top of those holiday cards.
An added bonus - you don't have to put away your Christmas papers and goodies LOL.

My Besties International JANUARY Challenge ~ Baby It's Cold Outside!

Hi Crafty Friends,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Our first My Besties International Challenge of the new year is under way.
The optional theme is Baby It's Cold Outside.

For those of you in the mid west and north east US, this is appropriate as the temperatures are in the negative numbers - eeek!  Here in northern CA we have cold, frosty mornings but that's it.  We've had so little rain here that our mountains are bare and the ski areas have had to make artificial snow to attract skiers and snowboarders.
Enough weather, let's get to my challenge image.

I colored with Copic markers and used die cuts from LaLaLand Crafts to create this little scene.
You can find the image HERE.

Our challenge is open to everyone and you may use an image by any artist.  Just follow the link above.  We look forward to seeing your creation.
