Inspired by a Song

Today is my design team day for the Wednesday Challenge at Cooking with Cricut.  Our challenge this week is to create a spring project inspired by a song.  Sound fun?  Well, I can't get the song I selected out of my head.  I find myself singing it throughout the day.  It's definitely a feel-good song.  Do you recognize it?

That's right, it's The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin Groovy) by Simon and Garfunkel.

I used Groovy Times for "groovy" and Phrases for "feelin."  The scalloped mat is from Elegant Edges.  I didn't add must more than some doodling dots because the paper is pretty busy.

Hugs and Kisses

Today is my design team day for Cooking With Cricut. This week's challenge hostesses asked us to make an adult Valentine which includes a brad and uses the color black.  Lately, I've found myself turning to the "Phrases" cartridge.  The layers are easy to use and I think the phrase images can easily stand-alone.  Just select your phrase and some great paper - easy peasy.

Everything used for today's card is from my craft stash.  I'm really trying to use what I have on hand (which is a lot!) and stop buying everything I see and think I can't live without.  Let's see how long that lasts. LOL!

Many Thanks

Good Morning.  Today is my design team day for Cooking With Cricut.  For the next two months, different pairs of design team members are selecting the challenges.  For today's challenge, we were asked to create something inspired by this photo.

Here's my card using paper from my stash and the "Many Thanks" cut from the Phrases cart.

I felt that an organdy ribbon was all that was needed to finish the card.

You can join our challenge at Cooking with Cricut.  Just look at the picture and decide what about it inspires you.  As you can see, I was most inspired by the pristine white of the snow and the gorgeous blue of the lake.  Come on over and share your inspiration too.

Many Thanks

I was at JoAnn's yesterday and had selected the Damask Decor cartridge.  Of course, when I took the card to the register, the cartridge could not be found.  I hate when that happens during their sales.  But, as the clerk was looking through the locked area, I did see the new cartridge, Phrases, so I bought it instead.  And guess what?  I LOVE it!!!  I really like the new feature in the handbook that suggests a minimum size in order to get a good clean cut.  I think that's going to be very helpful when cutting the more intricate images.

So, on to my card.  We have friends in WA who grow Walla Walla Sweet onions.  For the last two years

they have shipped us a case.  My DH is in heaven eating his sweet onion, garden fresh tomato, and bacon sandwich. I wanted to send them a thank you card.  I found the onion image on the Block Party cartridge and the sentiment is from my new Phrases cartridge.
