Die Cuttin' Divas #442 ~ Adorable Monsters

Hi Crafty Friends,

Can monsters be adorable?  At Die Cuttin' Divas we think so.

I created this card using a cute girl monster from the Silhouette Design store.

I also used a number of dies from La-La Land Crafts to embellish the card.  I think it's cute in a freaky sort of way.

So, show us your adorable monsters.  Just follow the link above.

Cut it Up Challenge #174 ~ Picnics

Hi Crafty Friends,

Let's go on a picnic!
That's our theme at Cut it Up Challenge Blog.

Our sponsor, A Day for Daisies, provided the watermelon digital image that I used to complete this card/invitation.

The title is from the Silhouette Design store and the ant is from Miss Kate Cuttables.  Both were cut using my Silhouette.  The grasses are an Impression Obsession die.  I colored the watermelon slices using Copic markers.  I've had the American Crafts patterned paper for ages!

Come join us at Cut it Up (link above).  Just follow the theme and don't forget a die cut.

Die Cuttin' Divas #416 ~ Red and Purple

Hi Crafty Friends,
We're honoring the wonderful Red Hat Society Ladies with today's challenge at
Die Cuttin' Divas.

I had a very dear friend who was the Queen of the group in our town.  Boy, did those ladies have some great times together!  The ladies are known for wearing their wonderful red hats to their different functions.  If one is not quite of the "senior" age, then her hat must be purple.
My card is an homage to my dear friend who passed in November.

I found this hat in the Silhouette Design Store.  I decided to cut 2 feather to add a bit of dimension.  The dotted papers are from Doodlebug Designs.  I love their bright, clear color choices.  The sentiment if from the Peacock set by Jaded Blossom.

I hope you'll join in the fun ~ red, purple, and a die cut.

Cut it Up Challenge #130 ~ "Johnny Appleseed"

Hi Crafty Friends,

Ooooh, it's time to start thinking fall and in our area that means a trip to
Apple Hill ~ apples, pies, breads, juice, so many wonderful treats.

Our Cut It Up challenge theme is Johnny Appleseed.
You must include an apple on your project and don't forget a die cut.

I went to the Silhouette Design Store for both of my projects.  Sometimes you just need something quick and simple!

I love this apple-shaped card.  All I did was add an extra apple shape in white for a spot to write or add a sentiment - easy peasy.

This cute little box was fun to make as well.  I slightly enlarged the file and added a piece of acetate behind the window.  Such a fun little gift to give to your favorite school-bound kiddo.

This challenge is being sponsored by
so link up to the challenge blog for a chance to win a $20 gift voucher.

Always Fun #8

Hi Crafty Friends,

This week's Always Fun Challenge is Graduation.

I'm in the middle of making several cards and gift holders since we have a number of friends who have kiddos graduating.  I was exploring the Silhouette Design Store and found this interesting mini-shadow box style card.  I would have liked to increase the size but I hadn't received my 12x24 mat yet.  Anyway, I think it's cute and it would be fun and easy to attach a gift card on the back.

The folds are mountain/valley so I increased the file as much as I could for my mat.  The only thing I added were the high school initials.  The school colors are green and silver.  Like I said, I'll probably attach a gift card to the very back before placing it in the envelope.  The back is also the only place to write since you can see all the layers.  Sometimes it's just fun to try something new and different, right?

I hope you'll visit the Always Fun blog to see more graduation ideas and then join in our challenge.
