A New Challenge Blog!

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today is the debut of a new challenge blog,
Always Fun Challenges

Image may contain: bicycle and text

The design team will share their projects EVERY Monday and you'll have the week to add your project to the link.  All types of crafty goodness is encouraged!

Our first challenge is ANYTHING GOES.

For my debut project I decided to work with (for me) a different medium.  I used Zig Clean Color pens (watercolor) to color this Stampendous Cling Rose Cluster.

I stamped the image using Versafine black ink onto Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock.
Even though these are watercolors, I still created the blends using  light, midtone, and shadow colors for each section (still a Copic colorist at heart.)  I did use a wate rbrush pen to enhance the blending and then added a water brushed background.  I really enjoyed using these pens but know I still have to practice and there's a lot more technique to learn!

The papers are pearls are from my craft stash, not sure of the brands.

I hope you'll visit the design team blog following the link above and then join in the fun with us.

Remember, we'll be sharing a new challenge EVERY Monday!!!

A CASE Challenge

Hi Crafty Friends,

We have a fun new challenge on the Cut it Up Challenge Blog.

For Challenge #119, we each CASED a fellow design team member.
So, what does CASE mean?  For some it means "Copy and Steal Everything", but it sounds nicer to say "Share."  It's a great way to use another person's idea while also giving credit to the original design.  We decided that we would use a fellow teammate's design for inspiration rather than copying it exactly.  We're asking our challenge participants to do the same (be sure to include a die cut.)
You may CASE one of us or anyone you wish, - just have fun with it and be sure to credit the original creation!!!

Here's my project, CASED from my DT partner, Evelyn.

I was able to stamp and restamp the sentiment using my MISTI.
The musical notes are die cute from Taylored Expressions and the Celebrate is one of Jaded Blossom's Word Dies, cut from LaLa Land's new foil adhesive paper (LOVE it!!).

Here's Evelyn's original card:
She was so clever.  Her sentiments are computer generated!

I hope you'll play along with this new challenge.

Taking a Look Back

Hi Crafty Friends,
Happy April!!

Today is my day to post on the Paper Crafting World blog.
I've been designing for Melin for many years so I decided to take a look back at some of the many files from Paper Crafting World that I've used.

Here's Bunny Girl with Flowers.
Isn't she cute?  I love Melin's cute animal files.  And, this file is still available.  It would be perfect for Easter or Mother's Day.

And now for some news!
A new challenge blog is beginning on April 10.  It's called
 Always Fun Challenges

You'll find us posting every Monday so be on the look out next week and plan on joining in the fun.

I colored the image using Copic markers.  All of the papers are from my stash.  To embellish the card I used Jaded Blossom Flower Dies, Martha Stewart border punch, and LaLa Land love bird die.

I hope you'll join in the fun.  Just add your project by following the link above.  You don't have to follow the theme - it's just to help with inspiration.

You've Got Me in Stitches

Hi Crafty Friends,

We have a fun new challenge on the Cut It Up Challenge Blog.
Along with using a die cut, we are also using stitching (faux or real.)

My project is this adorable Tiger Lily Gift Bag.  The file was provided by our challenge sponsor,
Fluerette Bloom.

I cut all the pieces on my Silhouette.  A little bit of rolling and inking was all that was needed to create this pretty flower with its leaves and bud.  I found the lily designer paper in my stash - love the colors!.  I used Jaded Blossom Rectangle dies 1 and 2 for the mats which provided the required stitching and also found the "stitched" ribbon in my stash.

Be sure to visit the Cut it Up Challenge blog to see more projects from Fluerette Bloom - she has some amazing cut files!!!!  And be sure to join us in the challenge for a chance to win a gift voucher to the Fluerette Bloom store.

Love and Sunflowers

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today is my design team day on the Paper Crafting World blog.

I'm sharing a card that I made for a country wedding.  The bride loves red, white and blue, checkered plaid, bandanna print, and sunflowers.  This cut file from Paper Crafting World let me fill the bill!

I used American Craft and Paper Studio Yee Haw patterned papers and plain card stock from my stash.  The cut file is Card Daisies Sundflowers N Pennants.  I cut everything using my Silhouette.  The stamp is a Crafter's Companion cling set called Words of Wonder set 2.  I used Powder Puff chalk ink to stamp and also to shade the flowers, leaves, and mats.

Thanks so much for stopping in today.

Shades of Green

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's time for challenge # 117 "Think Green" at Cut It Up Challenge Blog.
Along with a die cut, we're asking you to use 3 shades of green.
I was lucky enough to be a comment winner at The Cutting Cafe and received this darling cut file as one of my images of choice.

I used my Silhouette to cut the file and just added some twine, doodling, and epoxy dots -easy peasy and I love the way it turned out.
