Always Fun Challenge #46 ~ Zoo Animals

It's Monday so it's Always Fun Challenges day.  Our theme for this week is Zoo Animals.

Always Fun Challenge #45 ~ Valentine

Hi Crafty Friends, I hope you've been enjoying our weekly challenges at Always Fun Challenges. Our theme for this week is Valentine.  I'm finding it hard to gear up for Valentine's after spending so much crafty time on the holidays and then my daughter's birthday.  At least having Valentine as our theme ensures that I'll have something to send LOL!

I was digging through some of my wood mounted stamps and came across these cute heart stamps.  After stamping, I cut them out using a La La Land die and then added the lock and key (also La La Land).  I think it made a simple, cute card.

Cut it Up Challenge #141 ~ Layers of Love

Hi Crafty Friends,
Our theme for this Cut it Up Challenge is Layers of Love and we're asking for projects that include at least 3 layers.
I LOVE layering - probably my favorite technique.  Also, I just received the Gemini Jr. that I ordered during the last HSN craft show so I put my new cutter to good use.  After running a lot of Valentine dies through the machine, I just started assembling layers and here's the result.

This hodge podge type card isn't usually my style but I'll admit it was fun just laying out the different die cuts and then seeing how I could layer and tuck to create something fun.  I used dies from LaLa Land Crafts, Jaded Blossom, and Penny Black.

Always Fun Challenge #44 ~ Anything Goes

Hi Crafty Friends,
For this week's Always Fun Challenge I got out a box of Anna Griffin card kit materials which I ordered YEARS ago!  Sometimes you just need to put together a quick,  yet elegant card and that's what I did for this one. Actually, I assembled this card along with a sweet sympathy card - easy peasy.

I must admit the graphics that are provided in Anna's kits are lovely.  I guess I've just felt that I was sort of cheating in the handmade department.  But, you know what, sometimes the kits make a card happen when you wouldn't have had time, so there you go!

The Merry Christmas Challenge #5

Hi Crafty Friends,
Are you sticking with your goal to continue making Christmas cards year round? I love thinking that I might be ahead of the game for next Christmas.
Today's The Merry Christmas Challenge optional theme is Wreaths.   I usually design my cards including papers and embellishments and then color my image.  However, for this card I had the image already colored with no card in mind.  I made it into a card which included a wreath and the more I looked at it, it just didn't make creative sense to me so ... off came the image and using a new selection of papers and sentiment, here is the final product. Good thing a wreath is optional - maybe another time, another card.

This cute little Santa Monster is from Sherri Baldy's My Besties.  I colored using Copic Markers and added Frosted Lace Stickles to the hat.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's Christmas Signs set.

The paper is from my stash - a really old DCWV stack, I think.  The die cuts are from La La Land Crafts.  I colored using Copic Markers and added some Spectrum Noir Sparkle.
