Always Fun #8

Hi Crafty Friends,

This week's Always Fun Challenge is Graduation.

I'm in the middle of making several cards and gift holders since we have a number of friends who have kiddos graduating.  I was exploring the Silhouette Design Store and found this interesting mini-shadow box style card.  I would have liked to increase the size but I hadn't received my 12x24 mat yet.  Anyway, I think it's cute and it would be fun and easy to attach a gift card on the back.

The folds are mountain/valley so I increased the file as much as I could for my mat.  The only thing I added were the high school initials.  The school colors are green and silver.  Like I said, I'll probably attach a gift card to the very back before placing it in the envelope.  The back is also the only place to write since you can see all the layers.  Sometimes it's just fun to try something new and different, right?

I hope you'll visit the Always Fun blog to see more graduation ideas and then join in our challenge.

Delightful Challenge #22

Hi Crafty Friends,

We're opening our next challenge at Delightful Challenges.
Our challenges are always ANYTHING GOES using a digital or stamped image.

I made a sweet gift using the Spa Betty Set from Digital Delights by Louby Loo.

I colored the image using Copic markers.  For the bottle hanger I used Jaded Blossom Wine Tag dies.  I also embellished with leaves from JB's Tropical Flowers dies and Flower Dies.
I tied the sentiment tag, which I just hand cut, with tulle.

Our challenge is open for three weeks.  You can see more design team projects and link your own by clicking on the link above.

Always Fun #7 ~ Anything Goes

Hi Crafty Friends,

Our Always Fun Challenge this week is Anything Goes.

I designed this card for my bff's daughter's wedding.

You've probably noticed how much I love using classic linen pearl card stock.  I think the papers make a simple design so elegant.
The lattice is a Cherry Lynn die.  All the other die cuts are from La-La Land Crafts.  I cut an extra dove and sentiment out of chip board to add dimension to the die cuts - something I learned at
a La-La Land Make and Take.  I also added Stickles to the Cherry Blossom branch.

I hope you'll join our Always Fun "Anything Goes" challenge.

Hostess Monday at Digital Delights

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's my turn to share a Hostess Monday project for Digital Delights by Louby Loo.
When I saw this large double bow cut file in the store, I knew I wanted to create a project using it.

There is a hexagon card base under the bow so this could double as a card AND package decoration!  I thought Starz the Unicorn was the perfect addition!

Starz the Unicorn

I colored Starz using Copic markers.  The bow papers are from Doodlebug Designs.  Because I used card stock I chose to staple the bow parts using Terrifically Tacky (red) double sided tape to adhere the bow to the card base.  I used Jaded Blossom Stitched Oval and Scalloped Oval dies for the unicorn and mat.

Fun Folds

Hi Crafty Friends,

I was so excited to make this card for Cut It Up Challenge Blog, challenge #122 (fun folds) because I LOVE this type of window card but creating it on my own was no easy task.  Our wonderful sponsor, The Cutting Cafe provided the file for this style and it was so EASY to cut and assemble - yay!!!

The papers are all from Doodlebug Designs.  The flowers are Jaded Blossom Flowers Dies.  The image, which I colored using Lyra Polycolor pencils, and sentiment is from the Best Friends set by Clearly Besotted.  I also added Doodlebug Designs Sprinkles.

Head on over to the design team blog to see even more fun fold cards.  The Cutting Cafe files make them so easy to cut out and assemble.

Wonderful, Beautiful YOU!

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's my design team day on the Paper Crafting World Design Team Blog.

I have been wanting to try water coloring with Distress Inks and I found the perfect Paper Crafting World image on which to try.

Here's my project using the Wonderful Beautiful You Digital Printable stamp image.

I just smeared Distress Inks onto an acrylic block, dipped my brush in water and then the ink and began to paint.  I also used a water brush to help blend the colors.

The papers are from a K & Co stack I had in my stash.  The sentiment is a part of the Digital Printable set.  All I added was some American Crafts ribbon, and Queen&Co and Doodlebug Designs adhesive flowers and dots.

Thanks for visiting!

Always Fun Challenge #6 - Dry Embossing

Hi Crafty Friends,

Embossing folders were some of the first tools I purchased when I began making cards but, like so many things, I find new techniques and push others aside.  Today's challenge reminded how easy embossing folders are to use and what simple, yet pretty cards can be made using them.

Here's my dry embossing project for Challenge #6 at Always Fun Challenges:

I used my go-to folder, Swiss Dots and added a bow banner from Anna Griffin.
The rose and leave are dies cuts from China (no manufacturer named).  All it needed was a few sequins to be finished.

I hope you'll join this fun challenge.

Always Fun Challenge #5

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's Monday so that means it's time for our next Always Fun challenge.

The theme for this challenge is MOTHER'S DAY or something for a FEMALE.

I made this simple thank you card using a rose die from China (it had no brand but was purchased from a local scrapbook store which is now closed,(  I do love the way it cut and am glad I purchased quite a few dies when the store was clearing everything out!   I cut it once in green and then again in pink so I could pop the rose on top of the green for a little dimension.  A touch of lace, some adhesive pearls and a heat embossed sentiment finished the card.

We've had such wonderful participation for our challenges.  I hope you'll continue to support this fun new challenge blog.

Cherry Blossoms

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's my day on the Paper Crafting World Blog.
I want to share a pretty card I made using the
Cherry Blossom Lattice CF  from Paper Crafting World.

I duplicated then flipped one of the card shadows so I could weld them to make a shape card base.  I also adjusted the size so that this card is an A2.  The lattice cut so perfectly on my Silhouette.  After cutting all the pieces, I inked the branch and blossom tips, added some Signo white gel pen, then shaped the blossoms and added pearls.  All of the papers are from my stash as is the ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today.
