Kitty Bee Designs ~ DT Spotlight for October

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's my turn to share a DT Spotlight project for Kitty Bee Designs.

I love Kitty Bee's penguins, they're all so adorable.  This month's card is made using
iFish Balloon Penguin which can be found HERE.

The patterned papers are Authentique.  I used Jaded Blossom's Tropical dies for the waves and JB's Fish On stamp set for the sentiment which is stamped on a stitched flag die by LaLa Land Crafts.

I colored using Copic markers.

DT members share a post everyday so if you want to see lots of adorable projects using Kitty Bee stamps, be sure to stop by.

My Time to Craft ~ challenge 382

Hi Crafty Friends,

Here's our next challenge for My Time To Craft.

The theme is Halloween OR Cats.  I wanted to use my newest Jaded Blossom stamp sets to create this fun, sort of spooking Halloween card.

Jaded Blossom stamp sets:
Coffee Art, Halloween Coffee Art,Wicked Strong Coffee, Paint Splatters, Halloween Paint Splatters.
I also used Copic markers and Harmony Inks by Spectrum Noir.
This style is a little out of my comfort zone but it was really fun to create!

I hope you'll join us at My Time to Craft!!

Cut it Up Challenges #159 ~ CASE a project

Hi Crafty Friends,

For this Cut it Up challenge we are CASEing projects!  So, what does that mean?

It has several meanings but what we're actually doing is getting inspiration from someone or somewhere else, then giving credit while making it our own.  It can literally mean: Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit.  I tend to use the second meaning.

For my project I've gone to Pinterest to look at all the adorable wooden pumpkin blocks.  You can find an example HERE.  Since I'm not into wood crafts or painting, I wanted to create the same idea using paper.  Our sponsor, My Scrap Chick, had the perfect file.

The file was easy to cut on the Silhouette and the assembly was pretty straight forward as well.  I'm really happy with the way it turned out!

I hope you'll join in our CASE challenge.  Please share your project and include a link to the project you've CASEd in your post.  Please do not post someone else's work on your page.

The Merry Christmas Challenge ~ October

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I'm sharing my The Merry Christmas Challenge card for October.
I truly appreciate this challenge blog because for the first time I have quite a holiday stash so I can get my Christmas cards in the mail without a last minute card making frenzy.

I hope you can see the embossing on this card.  I have so many wonderful embossing folders and I simply don't use them enough.  This is from Crafter's Companion.  All I added was a die cut sentiment by Sizzix and a few sparkly sticker dots.

So, come on over and join our challenge and keep that card stash building!

My Time to Craft ~ Challenge, Use Kraft

Hi Crafty Friends,

We have a fun challenge for you at My Time to Craft.
You must use Kraft paper ~ layer it, die cut it, color or stamp on it ~ your choice!

I decided to try coloring on Kraft using Prisma pencils.  I'm so used to blending with Copic markers so this is a new crafty challenge for me.  I'm finding you can still create depth using lots of colors but it really requires a soft touch.  Once the pencil lead is burnished, no more layering!  I'll definitely have to keep practicing.

Here's my card:

I stamped the image on Kraft using Versafine ink and then began coloring.  The patterned paper is from my stash.  The sentiment is from a BugBites set (she no longer creates stamps) and the ribbon and die is from this month's Paper Door kit from Whimsy stamps.

There is so much you can create using Kraft paper.  My daughter's Save the Dates and Wedding Invitations were done using primarily Kraft.

I hope you'll join us HERE.

Cut it Up Challenge #158 ~ Halloween

Hi Crafty Friends,

Our Cut it Up challenge for this go-round is Halloween.  Our sponsor, The Dreaming Tree, provided us with files of our choice.  If you haven't visited The Dreaming Tree you are missing out on some amazing svg projects!  They are quite unique yet easy to cut and there is a video tutorial available for each project.  I've created this large 3D Boxed card.  I love it and it was really quite easy.

It measures 5.5 x 9.5 and folds to fit a 7.5 x 10" envelope which comes with the file.  Isn't this a great take on the dimensional box card.  Here it's lighted from behind (there is a cut out) with a pot light.

You can see the dimensional layers a little better from this angle.

and from the side.  I use AC cardstock for the solid colors and Authentique for the patterned paper.
The sentiment is from BugBites (no longer available).

We can't wait to see your Halloween projects.  Follow the link above for a chance to win a gift certificate to The Dreaming Tree.
