Fall Butterflies

Hey Crafty Friends, Now don't faint!  I have another LAYOUT to share with you today.  I know, I'm getting a pretty good collection of completed pages - guess I'd better start adding some photos!! This layout was a kit from Page-Kits - the sister site to Paper Crafting World. I received the kit as a gift and thought it was time to assemble it.  It was so easy with all the pieces pre-cut.  All I had to do was, spritz, ink, curl, add pearls, and adhere everything to the pages. 

Page-Kits.com is a great site to pick up page kits, premade pages, and paper piecings. Although this particular kit is no longer available, the cut files used will be available at Paper Crafting World.

Celebrating Fall

Hi Everyone,
Just got back from 3 fabulous days of crafting at my local scrapbook store, Memories for the Making
in Lodi, California.  I got so many projects completed and I'll be sharing some of them with you over the next few weeks.

Today is my turn to post on the Design Team blog for Paper Crafting World.
I'm so happy to be designing around the fall theme.  I just love the oranges, yellows, greens, and browns that represent the season.
Here's my card:

PCW cut file used: Pumpkins Corner Vine

The papers are the DCWV Amber Autumn Stack and Bo Bunny Vintage Dots.  I made the crinkle ribbon using Hug Snug seam binding and Ranger Distressed Stain.

I used the backside of the Bo Bunny dots paper for the leaves and inked all the edges with Powder Puff Chalking Ink in Mocha Mama.  I used my Pazzles Electronic Cutter to cut the pieces.

While at the 3-day crop, we were provided with daily Make n Takes.  This is a double page layout that we were given.  There was lots of room to determine our own mat location and how many we wanted to add.  I also added the doodling to highlight different parts of the layout.

A Fall Layout

Hello Crafty Friends, I love September because it's still summer but it's time to start thinking about fall, especially when it comes to designing projects. For today's post, I've created a single page layout using cut files from Paper Crafting World. The background paper is an older DCWV stack called Indian Summer Fall Stack.  The mats and cuts for the spray and title are from Bo Bunny vintage Dots papers. Here's a close up of the title.  It's the PCW Fall Title cut file This is a close up of the PCW Fall Spray cut file.  I inked the leaves and acorns before adhering them to the project.

Finally, a closer look at the ribbon, buttons, and twine I used to decorate the corners.  I found the wooden buttons at JoAnn a few years back.  The twine and ribbon are by American Crafts. Love My E2 and a Sneak Peek

I know some gals are complaining about their Cricut Expression 2, but I must say that I've fallen in love with mine.  I was asked to teach an E2 class at my local scrapbook store and in preparing for the class I really learned a lot about the E2's features.  Being able to use multiple cartridges and sizes on one screen/mat is amazing.  Being able to see where your cuts are going to be placed - woohoo! Anyway, I designed two projects for my gals to cut during class.  I tried to build in as many features of the E2 as possible when I created these.  I did not embellish, ink, doodle, or add anything (except ribbon) because the purpose was to do everything with the E2.  I'm sure when they took the projects home, they applied their own special touches.  

Our first project was this card where we used the fit to length feature and learned to move the images on the mat to that we could cut 4 different colors at the same time.

 

On this page layout, we used fit to length, the reverse/flip button, and cutting different sizes during the same cut.

 

I had two gals come into class saying they hated their machines.  They left with a much better appreciation of all that the E2 can do and I think they'll be a lot happier when using their machines at home.

Mission Accomplished!

Best Friends Layout

So glad you stopped by.  Today I am sharing a design for Hostess Monday at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  Each design team member has been asked to share a little about herself and then present a project.  I chose to use some of Wendy's digital images to create a 12 x 12 page layout.  Digital images aren't only for cards :).  I wanted to show how I use Copic Markers on large images as well as card-sized ones.

I've selected the Dilly Duck and Ladybug digital stamp as my main image.

I added the toadstools from the Toadstool background set.  I also added some Prima flowers with Distress Stickles centers for some dimension.

I think this ticket sentiment is the perfect title for my page.

I hope you like my layout.  Now all it needs is two 3.5 x 5 pictures to be complete.

A Sneak Peek!

Hello my blogging friends. I'm trying to get back into my posting routine, but I've sure been slow this past week.  All of my design teams are starting back up after the holiday break so it's time to get busy!!  I will be the next Monday Hostess at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  I thought I'd give you a sneak peek of my creation - it's a layout using some of Wendy's wonderful digital images.

Harvest Blessings

Good Morning and welcome to the Fantabulous Cricut Harvest Blessings Crawl (our blog hop!)

We've decided to create projects to give thanks for our Harvest Blessings.  Each Design Team member will be featuring a project that includes Brown, Orange, and Red - and at least one Cricut cut.

Layout for Crops of Luv

The Cricut Circle members in Northern California are having a crop this Friday. Since I live fairly close to the venue, I volunteered to help in any way I could.  I was asked to create a Welcome sign to go along with the theme, "Good Ol Summertime, Northern Californa Style."

We are also making 2-page layouts to donate to Crops of Luv.  I decided to make my poster to include a

2-page layout that could be donated.  I used Campin Critters for all of the cuts.  What a fun and easy cartridge.  There are lots of layers but they are easy to assemble since the detail isn't too specific.

The title is actually a part of the Welcome poster, not the layout.  I used the Robotz font for it.

Tomorrow, 24 Circle members will meet for dinner - just to get the party going!  It should be a fun evening and a full day of cropping - well, probably visiting and just having fun - Cricut style.

Fantabulous Cricut Crawl

Woohoo!  It's here!  Welcome to the the fifth Fantabulous Cricut Crawl. . . Fantabulous Cricut's version of a blog hop.  The Design Team members decided to have a Spring Fling.  We'll each feature an original Spring project that includes Pink, Green, and Yellow, and at least one Cricut cut.

I created a layout for my Spring Fling project - you expected a card, huh?.  I found the pink, green, yellow (and blue) bunny paper and the project just grew from there.  I love it when I find that one special piece of paper that allows the creating to begin.

I used Easter 2010, A Child's Year, April Showers, Walk in My Garden, and Songbird for the cuts on this layout. The entire layout was designed on my Gypsy.  The bunny, cloud, butterfly, and grass were all embossed using the Cuttlebug.  I added some ribbon, inking, doodling, pop dots, and pearls using my Pearl Pen.  The  mats are cut for 3.5 x 5 pictures.

Now for the fun stuff - blog candy.  All you have to do is leave a comment - that's it.  I'll randomly select one name from all those who leave a comment,  so be sure to include a way for me to contact you.

Spring Layout

That's right - you heard me - a LAYOUT!!  I'm trying to expand my skills and move out of my cardmaking comfort zone.  When I do create layouts I usually begin with the pictures and let them guide my design.  This time I worked in reverse.  I chose a theme and a main cartridge and began to design.  I'll have to admit, it was a much slower process, but I'm happy with the results.  I looked through the Cindy Loo book and selected images for my design and then sketched what I thought would work around a 4x6 and a 3.5x5 photo mat.  OK, I did chose the butterfly from Sentimentals and the title from Easter 2010, but all the rest is from Cindy Loo. Then I put all the images together on my Gypsy.  I chose the My Mind's Eye Ooh La La paper pack and began cutting.  Once I had all the cuts and my layout sketch, I began embossing, inking, choosing embellishments, and adding dots with the Signo pen. Then it all came together like this. Whew!!!!

I enjoyed my journey out of my comfort zone.  I hope you do too.

More album pages

I just finished more pages for my daughter's Marathon Album.  I'm sharing this two page layout because I can use it for My Shei Crafts Blog weekly challenge, which is FRIENDS.   This is such a simple layout, I'm letting the paper do the work!
