Animal Antics at OMCF

Happy Weekend Crafty Friends, It's time for challenge #7 at Open-Minded Crafting Fun.  This challenge is all about ANIMAL ANTICS. We have four sponsors for this challenge so you have four chances to win some fabulous images.

It's Christmas

  Did I scare you?  Well, you know crafters, we're always at least a month ahead, right?  I made this card for today's Getting Cricky post and wanted to share it with you as well.   The digital image is one of SKdigis adorable Christmas images.  Sonia's stamps are so easy to color and so cute.  Her stamps would be easy to use when you have to make multiples.  I used sentiment stamps from two different K Andrew Designs sentiment sets.  Unfortunately, the two sets are sold out but there are still 21 different sets available.  Kristal is selling out her current inventory so all of the stamps are clearance priced (60% off the original price!).  Don't you think you need to treat yourself to a few gifts?  How about Skdigis and K Andrew Designs stamps?  

I used Spellbinders lacy ovals and a plain oval for the matting.  I cut the sentiment banner freehand.  The red stripes on the candy canes were colored with a Spica glitter pen.

Fabulous Flowers

  Good Morning, Crafty Friends Are you adjusting to the time change?  I love feeling like I have more time during the day but it sure gets dark early making it difficult to stay awake at night - oh well.   Today I'm posting at Getting Cricky.  Although Kristal is clearing out her present inventory at K Andrew Designs, she's not closing the store.  She's just slowing down so she can dedicate more time to her job and boys.  The Getting Cricky blog will also remain active with a design team member posting every weekday.  So, don't remove us from your blog list because we still have lots of ideas to share.   The cards I'm sharing today have some really special embellishments.  The two cards that I shared on the Link Up For Pink were each drawn for a prize - Woohoo!  One of my prizes came from Jani at Paper Compulsions.  I was able to select some super files and then she sent me a box full of her amazing handmade flowers.  They are stunning - many with pearls, gems, and beads and in all my favorite colors!!  Please visit her blog for some amazing projects and tutorials.

A Sad Farewell

  We are saying goodbye to K Andrew Designs and Getting Cricky.  Kristal is a full time teacher and raising two little boys so she's decided to close her K Andrew Designs Art Stamps business. Kristal's stamps have been an anchor for my creations and it's sad to see her business close. The design team members are each posting one more time.   Today is my post at Getting Cricky.

Bosom Buddies

  I'm so glad you're visiting today.  It's a special day because I'm sharing my first Getting Cricky design since being invited back to the design team.    I love using K Andrew Design Art Stamps.  I always find a perfect sentiment to go with whatever type of card I'm designing.  This week I wanted to make some cards to support Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Sonia, of SKdigis, has created a fabulous Breast Cancer Awareness Kit.  I couldn't resist these two images because Kristal's Fashionable Friends set has the perfect sentiments, So, what do you think?

Love My E2 and a Sneak Peek

I know some gals are complaining about their Cricut Expression 2, but I must say that I've fallen in love with mine.  I was asked to teach an E2 class at my local scrapbook store and in preparing for the class I really learned a lot about the E2's features.  Being able to use multiple cartridges and sizes on one screen/mat is amazing.  Being able to see where your cuts are going to be placed - woohoo! Anyway, I designed two projects for my gals to cut during class.  I tried to build in as many features of the E2 as possible when I created these.  I did not embellish, ink, doodle, or add anything (except ribbon) because the purpose was to do everything with the E2.  I'm sure when they took the projects home, they applied their own special touches.  

Our first project was this card where we used the fit to length feature and learned to move the images on the mat to that we could cut 4 different colors at the same time.

 

On this page layout, we used fit to length, the reverse/flip button, and cutting different sizes during the same cut.

 

I had two gals come into class saying they hated their machines.  They left with a much better appreciation of all that the E2 can do and I think they'll be a lot happier when using their machines at home.

Mission Accomplished!

Cute and Cuddly

  It's my design team day at Tuesday Throwdown.  The team is using digis from Robyn's Fetish for our Cute and Cuddly theme.  I chose "Overdawall Puppy".  

 

I used my new Spellbinders Card Creator "Fancy Ribbon Threader" for the patterned paper mat and sentiment mat, and cut the image out using Spellbinders Labels One.  The sentiment is from

K Andrew Designs "Positive Thoughts."  The ribbon is American Crafts and I used Copics to color the image.

Are You "Distressed?"

Well, I certainly hope not!   But how about your projects?  This week we're looking for projects featuring a distressed look, so join us at Delightful Challenges and show off your ideas.   I used two images from Digital Delights by Louby Loo's "Ahoy Matey Accessory Set,"and lots of tearing, inking, and sanding to get a distressed effect.  

 

The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs' Pirates Tales and Fish Scales set.  I hand cut and banner.  I also used Copic markers and Distressed Ink.

Final Copic Marker Scrapbooking Release

I wanted to share another SKdigis image with you today.  I also added a K Andrew Designs sentiment from the Owly Hoo set.

Fancy and Frilly

Oh this is so NOT my style but it's this week's challenge at Delightful Challenges and I know it's always good to try to design outside one's comfort zone LOL! So, here's my fancy and frilly offering -  

 

I used the PRE-COLORED Mrs Luvvy Owl from Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  I think it's great that you can use these adorable images even if you don't want to color.  All of  Wendy's digis can be purchased pre-colored or in black and white.

 

I added some frills using Crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot, a half doily that I spritzed with Tattered Angels and gathered a bit, an adhesive pearl and a stick pin from my stash.

 

I also added pearls around the card and on the sentiment

  The card base was cut with Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Squares.  I folded the base and positioned the die slightly off the folded cardstock.  Then I cut another scalloped square and adhered it to the front of the base.  The patterned paper was cut with Spellbinders Lacy Squares.  I've been trying to use my Spellbinders more after seeing the amazing cards created by Lisa of A Mermaid's Crafts. She's been so willing to share her techniques and answer all of my questions. Fantasy World

  The designers at Copic Marker Scrapbooking (including me!) are sharing projects created using Guy Gondron's Fantasy image set.  Like all of Guy's drawings, these images are always fun and yet offer a challenge when using Copic markers.  I've selected three of Guy's images to create cards to share with you today.  You can see the rest of the release at Making Our Mark.

  Good Advice, huh?     This sentiment is from the K Andrew Designs sentiment set, Spash-tastic Summer and the image is a freebie that can be found at SKdigis. This is another of my "just for fun" cards that I designed after digging through my scraps.  

I just received my new Artiste cartridge and I can't wait to play.
