Fall Days are Coming

and the Design Team members at Delightful Challenges are celebrating their approach.  Come on and join us for our Fall Days challenge.

I selected Pumpkin Dumpling and the Autumn Wishes Circular Sentiment for my card which celebrates the colors of fall.  Both the image and the sentiment can be found at

I used papers from a DCWV autumn stack.  The mats are Spellbinders Labels 11.
The buttons are Basic Grey tied with Scrapbooker's Floss.  I added a gem to each to catch your eye since the buttons sort of got lots on the patterned paper. The ribbon is from Michael's.  And, of course, I used Copics to color the image.  You can join in our challenge by linking your Fall Days project HERE.

Fancy and Frilly

Oh this is so NOT my style but it's this week's challenge at Delightful Challenges and I know it's always good to try to design outside one's comfort zone LOL!
So, here's my fancy and frilly offering -

I used the PRE-COLORED Mrs Luvvy Owl from Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  I think it's great that you can use these adorable images even if you don't want to color.  All of  Wendy's digis can be purchased pre-colored or in black and white.

I added some frills using Crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot, a half doily that I spritzed with Tattered Angels and gathered a bit, an adhesive pearl and a stick pin from my stash.

I also added pearls around the card and on the sentiment
(from K Andrew Designs Sew Much Fun set)

The card base was cut with Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Squares.  I folded the base and positioned the die slightly off the folded cardstock.  Then I cut another scalloped square and adhered it to the front of the base.  The patterned paper was cut with Spellbinders Lacy Squares.  I've been trying to use my Spellbinders more after seeing the amazing cards created by Lisa of A Mermaid's Crafts. She's been so willing to share her techniques and answer all of my questions.
Oh, I also added a Recollections flower and some leaves using the MS branch punch.

If fancy and frilly is your style or, like me, you want to stretch your creativity, come join in our challenge by linking your card to Delightful Challenges.

It's a "Thank You" Surprise Blog Hop

I am SO glad you stopped by today.  It's design team day for Cooking with Cricut, but we're doing something special!  Instead of our regular design team post and challenge, all of the design team members are having a special "Surprise" blog hop to say THANKS to our wonderful leader, Melinda Beltran.
Not only do we want to thank Melin for being a wonderful leader, designer, and amazing person, we also want to celebrate Cooking with Cricut's 100th challenge!!!!

Melin started the Cooking with Cricut challenges in October 2010 to encourage crafters to use their Cricut machine and cartridges.  She has given so many crafters a chance on her design teams.  The teams have turned into a crafting community of women who truly care about and support each other and share their hearts and talent with each another and with their followers.  I am so honored to be a part of this amazing group.

So, this is our surprise "Thank You" to our wonderful Melin!  If you came from Michelle's blog, Michelle's Crafty Creations, you're in the right spot.  If you just dropped to visit my blog, I encourage you to start at the beginning so you won't miss a thing.

I used the Elegant Edges cartridge to create the shape card (welded on the Gypsy) and mats for this card.  The sentiment is from MS Elegant Cakes and the flower and leaf is from Flower Shoppe.  The brown mat was embossed with the Swiss Dots folder along with yellow petals.  The leaf was embossed with Musical Swirls. Finally, the ribbon is American Crafts.

I can't wait to get this card in the mail to personally thank Melin for all she has done for the crafting community and for me.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hopping with us.  We all hope you'll join us and leave your own "Thank You" for Melin in the comment section at Cooking with Cricut.

Now it's time for you to visit the very talented Charlotte at A Little Bit of Detail.
She's your next stop on this surprise party train!

Hip to be Square

Good Morning Bloggie Friends,
It's time for my design team day at Tuesday Throwdown.  This week's challenge is
"Hip to be Square".  We want to see lots of squares on your project.

As you can see, I layered lots of squares including two Spellbinders dies, three cardstock squares and  the nine mini-squares.  The sentiment is from the Tiny Tags set by My Craft Spot.
The image is "I love you this much" from this week's sponsor

You can visit our challenge blog to join this week's challenge and also see more Hip to be Square designs using The Stamping Boutique images.

Fantasy World

The designers at Copic Marker Scrapbooking (including me!) are sharing projects created using Guy Gondron's Fantasy image set.  Like all of Guy's drawings, these images are always fun and yet offer a challenge when using Copic markers.  I've selected three of Guy's images to create cards to share with you today.  You can see the rest of the release at Making Our Mark.

I think this sentiment from K Andrew Designs Positive Thoughts set is perfect!

I hope you'll take the time to visit Making Our Mark to see the entire set - the images are pretty amazing - you've got to see the Frog Prince!

Just Keep Swimming

Good Advice, huh?

This sentiment is from the K Andrew Designs sentiment set, Spash-tastic Summer and the image is a freebie that can be found at SKdigis.
This is another of my "just for fun" cards that I designed after digging through my scraps.

I just received my new Artiste cartridge and I can't wait to play.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Oh, btw, did you notice my new signature?  Wendy at Digital Delights by Louby Loo designed it for me and I just love it!

May All Your Dreams Come True

The theme for this week's challenge at Delightful Challenges is die cuts and punches.
I decided to design a window card with a dimensional scene.

The sentiment, Seahorse, and Under the Sea background are all digital stamps from

I used Spellbinders Labels 8 for the window and then printed 2 backgrounds so that I could color the ocean bottom on one and then color the seaweed from the other, cut out and pop-up. I added even more dimension by popping the seahorse and adding pearls and Skittles which I colored with Copics .  I  used Stickles on the seaweed and seahorse as well as a few Stickle dots throughout the background.

I hope you'll visit the Delightful Challenges blog to see more die cut and punch ideas created by the design team.  If you link up a project for this challenge you could win a gift certificate to

Just for Fun

Today is a quick post sharing a card I created after going through my scrap papers and extra die cuts.
All of the cuts are Spellbinders.

The image is from SKdigis and the sentiment is K Andrew Designs - Positive Thoughts.
I think this will be perfect to use for Card Fairies as we are often asked to send uplifting cards.  I hope this will bring a smile to the recipient.

Forgetful Fran

This week we're adding FABRIC, FIBER, and/or TRIM to our designs at Delightful Challenges.
I chose to use Forgetful Fran and embellished the 5 x 7 card with fabric brads and lace adhered to cloth ribbon.  Fran's shell is paper pieced using the patterned background paper.
The mat is a Spellbinders Blossom die which I inked and then added glitter dots.

Isn't she just the cutest digi?  Forgetful Fran and the sentiment come together as a set from
Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  You can find her and so many other wonderful images by clicking the link above.  Did you know that Wendy also takes design suggestions?  So if you have a special digital request you can let her know.  That's how so many of our sets are created - through your suggestions.

Be sure to stop by Delightful Challenges to see more designs including those of our new Design Team Members.  And while you're there, link up your own FABRIC, FIBER, and/or TRIM project.  You could be the lucky winner of a gift certificate from this week's sponsor

We're "On the Move" at Tuesday Throwdown

Today is my first challenge as a Design Team Member for
For this week's challenge, we're "On the Move."  Robyn's Fetish is our sponsor this week and each member selected one of her digital images to create a card to which we added a moving part.

I chose the "Horsing Around" digital image for my card.  Since this girl is definitely playing the princess part, I added the crown and diva cut from the Rock Princess Cricut cartridge.  The paper is from an older Making Memories stack and the ribbon is from my stash.  The digi stamp was colored with Copic Markers.

The digital image is the moving part of the card.  I made my own "wobble" so that the horse and rider rock back and forth.

I'd like to invite you to visit the Tuesday Throwdown blog to see the rest of the design team creations and to link your own "On the Move" project.  Don't forget to add a moving part.

Thanks for sharing in my newest designing adventure.  My journey continues.
Hugs and Happy Crafting,
Larelyn

A New Team

Good Morning Friends.

Have the Olympics been keeping you up late?  I watch until midnight and then hubby's dog wakes me around 4 a.m.  I'm feeling a little sleep deprived right now but cant's stay away from watching the Summer Games.

I have more exciting news to share.  I've been invited to be a part of the
design team.  This challenge blog has been around for awhile and offers an exciting challenge for you every Tuesday.  Kim has increased the size of her team so now you'll see projects from two different teams who will alternate weeks.  My design debut for TT will be tomorrow.  I hope you'll come back and have a look.

Hopping by to Say . . .

SKdigis will begin a new challenge blog on September 3.  As a member of the new design team, I just couldn't wait to use one of Sonia's adorable images so I made this card to say hello to my new design team members.

The daffodils are Jolee's stickers that I've had for ages.  The stitching is actually a K&Co rub-on that came in a set that I ordered from Crafty Steals, I think.  The frog image is colored with Copics and the sentiment is a Stampendous stamp.

Sonia is posting on the SKdigis blog so I hope you'll stop by, wish her well, and leave a little bloggie love. BtW, she has a great Silhouette Cameo tutorial up right now.  Then take a look at the cute images she already has in her store while she's busy designing  more - Yay!!

You'll find the blog HERE.
Visit the store HERE.

Happy Birthday at Delightful Challenges

Time for a brand new digital release at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.
Wendy has created the most adorable Birthday set including characters, sentiments, and digital papers.  You can find the entire release HERE.
I would like to introduce Pressie Josh.  He sure is happy with his huge birthday present!

Josh is colored with Copics.  The papers are Bo Bunny and I used Spellbinders to cut the mat, scalloped circle, and flags.  The sentiment is from the Birthday Sentiment Set, part of the new release.  I added some straight stitch doodling for finish the card.

You can join in our Birthday challenge by linking your design to the Delightful Challenges post HERE.

BFF Bingo in Celebration of Friends Week

So glad you stopped by because today is a special Cricut challenge at Cooking with Cricut.  We are celebrating our BFFs!  To play along with us, just choose 3 items on the Bingo card - horizontally, vertically, or diagonally - and include them on your project.

Here's the Bingo card.

and here's my project using the Art Philosophy cartridge for the die cuts, one of the stamps that came with bundle, and ink (Distress Ink in Dusty Concord).  Ok, I'll admit to flowers and Stickles as well.  The card design is based on the one in the front of the AP Handbook.  Sometimes the sample projects are just too cute not to try.  The papers are all from the DCWV Chateau Lavendar Stack.

Come on and join our Cricut Challenge.  Just choose your 3 Bingo embellishments and create something special for your BFF.  Then link your project to the CWC Cricut Challenge.

Hugs and Happy Crafting,
Larelyn
