Just for Fun

One of my Copic Class ladies is now distributing Flicks - do you remember Flicks?  I couldn't go to the movies without having a tube of Flicks-such yummy chocolate! Anyway, she brought everyone in class some Flicks and then challenged us to create something from the packaging.
Here's what I came up with and will share the stamps and papers with my gals for April's class so they can make one as well.
By the way -  the tube is empty cause somebody (?????) ATE all the Flicks!.  I guess I could fill it with jelly beans or M&M's, right?

That's it for today.  Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.

Happy Easter

It's time for another challenge from Delightful Challenges.  We have an Easter theme this week.  I've chosen to use each image from Wendy's Easter Accessory Set along with the Happy Easter Scrolled Sentiment.  A side-step card seemed to be best way to highlight each image.

I thought it would be fun to "bling up" this card a little so I added gems, flowers, and Stickles along with my Copic coloring.  The grass is from my new "The Cat's Pajamas" die cut.

We want you to join in our Easter challenge.  Just link up your Easter project to the Delightful Challenges blog for a chance to win a gift certificate from

And remember that all of the digital images I used can be found at

Make Us Laugh!

Everyone needs a good giggle - don't you agree?  This week the Cooking with Cricut gals are creating things that will bring a smile to your face, whether it's a pun, a joke, or just a funny card.  Here's my design team card:

I love the sentiment and the idea of the card.  I'm not sure if it turned out quite like I pictured it in my mind, but I think it will be ok for a masculine or kid's card.  The images were cut from the Old West cartridge.  I cut two of each so I could stagger them and then add foam dimensionals for a little more pop.  The sentiment (K Andrew Designs - All About Animals) is heat embossed.
A little inking, highlighting with a black pen, and a jute bow and the card is done.

You can join in the fun and bring a little laughter to your bloggie friends by linking up to this week's challenge at Cooking with Cricut.   The winner of the challenge receives a digital stamp or cutfile from Paper Crafting World as well as a fabulous Top Chef button for your blog!  Now you can't beat that can you?  Come on, join us.  We'd love to have you play along.  Don't forget to use a Cricut cut somewhere on your project.

Bear in a Flower Pot

I went to a crop last night and used my time to prepare for my next Copic class in April.  Melin, owner and designer of Paper Crafting World graciously allows me to use some of her images to teach my class.  My ladies have moved from just coloring to wanting to create actual projects so we're making a pedestal card for our next class.
Isn't this just the cutest image?  I know they're going to love coloring this adorable Bear in a Flower Pot.

I'd like to invite you to visit Melin at Paper Crafting World and see all the adorable digital images and cutfiles she has for you.  I know my ladies will be anxious to purchase their own digital images after coloring this cutie.

Easter Treats

We're sharing Easter Treats at Delightful Challenges.  Using images from Digital Delights by Louby Loo, we were asked to design treat holders.  Be sure to stop by Delightful Challenges to see the great ideas being shared by the design team.  My 5.5 x 5.5 inch folder holds a clear bag containing Ghirardelli chocolates.

For the front of the treat holder I used Easter Egg Briley and an Easter Sentiment.  Briley is colored with Copic Markers.

You can see how the holder is folded.  I used eyelets and Baker's Twine to keep it closed.

Here's a close-up of the sentiment and the metal cross charm I added to the twine bow.

Finally, I decided to add an image to the back as well.  This image is Easter Egg Boy.  The sentiment and images can be purchased and downloaded from Digital Delights by Louby Loo.

I'm going to enter this project in the Sentimental Sundays "metal" challenge #94 and My Sheri Crafts Easter/Pastel challenge.

You can join in our Easter Treats challenge by linking your project to the Delightful Challenges Blog.

This week's challenge is being sponsored by

Inspired by a Song

Today is my design team day for the Wednesday Challenge at Cooking with Cricut.  Our challenge this week is to create a spring project inspired by a song.  Sound fun?  Well, I can't get the song I selected out of my head.  I find myself singing it throughout the day.  It's definitely a feel-good song.  Do you recognize it?

That's right, it's The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin Groovy) by Simon and Garfunkel.
I used Groovy Times for "groovy" and Phrases for "feelin."  The scalloped mat is from Elegant Edges.  I didn't add must more than some doodling dots because the paper is pretty busy.

Be sure to visit Cooking with Cricut to see the fabulous projects posted by our design team members.

I would love to have you link up a project for this challenge.  Just go to Cooking with Cricut and add your project to Mr. Linky.  The winners are announced the Friday after the challenge closes.  We'd love to get more entries, so if you're looking for a weekly challenge, come and join us.

Here are the guidelines to enter:

  • Must follow the challenge topic.

  • Must be a NEW project for this challenge, please no back dated posts.

  • Must have a link back to this post on your blog.

  • Must link your project through Inlinkz and not just your blog.

  • Must use your Cricut in some capacity.

  • Must have fun.

  • You may gladly combine challenges . . . we love to pile it on TOO!

  • I'm looking forward to seeing your Spring Song inspired creation.

    Forever with You

This is the centerpiece I made for each of the tables at the small reception we held after my mother-in-law's funeral.  I wanted to make something that her family could keep as a remembrance.  It is a pedestal card with a flower from Art Philosophy and a sentiment from Phrases.  On the back of the pedestal I adhered a butterfly and frame with this sentiment: "Sadness flies away on the wings of time."

It was a simple decoration but much appreciated by her brothers and sister.  Actually, when I showed it to our florist (to match colors), she asked me to make up one to display in her shoppe as she feels her customers might be interested in this type of remembrance.

Hope your week is off to a great start.
    Happy Spring!!

    I'm Back!

So much has happened since my last post.  I can't believe how long it's been since I've designed a card let alone written a blog post.  We are not in Texas!!!  The evening after my mother-in-law's funeral my husband was hospitalized with extremely high blood pressure.  He stayed for 4 days but is on his way to feeling much better.  The truck and trailer are still parked out front, but our trip is on permanent hold.  I finally brought in all my crafts that I had packed, but it's taken awhile to get the house back together, put my crafts back in order, and try to establish a routine that includes a healthier eating lifestyle for hubby and me.

I designed this card using a Savvy flower and leaf stamp and a sentiment from K Andrew Designs "Winged Things" set.  I'm going to make multiples to send to those who sent floral remembrances in honor of my mother-in-law.

I hope you visit K Andrew Designs.  Kristal has a fabulous new set on pre-order called "Of Mice and Lil Men" and is busy designing a number of new sets which will be released in the near future.  She also has a number of specials going on right now.

I'm so glad to be back.  I appreciate your patience and hope you'll continue to visit.

    Hugs and Happy Crafting,

    Wow! It's been awhile

    Hello my bloggie friends!
Sorry I haven't posted for awhile.  A lot has been going on and no time to craft.  We were taking another trip to Texas, but just before we left, my mother-in-law passed away.  So traveling was put on hold while planning the services and reception.  Daughters had to fly in with one day's notice, etc., etc.  The service was today and our truck and utility trailer are finally packed.  We're heading out tomorrow.  Wonderful hubby packed boxes and boxes of my crafts so once we arrive, I'll be back to posting.  My goal is a Cooking with Cricut post next Wednesday and a new Delightful Challenges post on Thursday.  And I have ALL of my K Andrew Design stamps with me so, of course, I'll have some Getting Cricky posts.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come back.

    Need An Extra Hand?

Copic Marker Scrapbooking has released a new Under the Sea series of digital stamps.  I shared my mermaid card last Sunday for Getting Cricky's Simply Sunday Challenge.  Here are two more from the release.

Both of these are large (for me) cards.  The first is 5.5 x 5.5 and the second is 5 x 7.  I needed the extra size to show off these gorgeous papers and also to do the images justice.
The sentiment for the second card is from K Andrew Designs Pirate Tales and Fish Scales set.  I heat embossed it to make it pop.

You can see all of designs from this release by visiting the CMS blog HERE or on the Copic Marker Scrapbooking Facebook page in the photo gallery.  All of the digital images are available in the
Copic Marker Scrapbooking online store HERE.

    Have a delightful weekend.
