Always Fun Challenge #56 ~ Flowers

Hi Crafty Friends,

Our Always Fun Challenge this week is FLOWERS.

This was the perfect time to get out my seldom used Zig Clean Color pens and play with water coloring.

I used Gold Detail embossing powder on the stamped images.  First, I applied clear water and then began adding color with a Zig Clean Color brush pen.  I used  Pale Rose on the first card and a combination of Pale Rose and Deep Red on the second.  There are so many ways you can apply the medium but I like the way the paint moved when applying water first.  If you want a brighter, even application, you can use the pens alone.  So much fun.

I hope you'll join our challenge by following the link above.  You may create any type of project but you must follow the FLOWER theme.

The Merry Christmas Challenge #17

Hi Crafty Friends,

Time of me to post on The Merry Christmas Challenge.  Remember that there is a new challenge every week even though I only post on the odd # challenges.
The OPTIONAL theme for this challenge is Banners.

Sometimes it's just fun to play with extra die cuts that are in my stash and let them "land" on the card mat LOL.  I've used dies from Jaded Blossom (stitched circles) and La La Land (all the rest.)

The only thing this card needs is a greeting or sentiment which can be added later.

Follow the link above to share your Christmas project.  It's fun to know that you're ahead for the upcoming Christmas season.

Kitty Bee Designs ~ DT Spotlight

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's my turn to share my monthly Design Team Spotlight project for Kitty Bee Designs.

I found this adorable Echo Park Sweet Baby patterned paper which is the perfect background for this sweet image.

Emilee the Elephant is now available as a clear stamp and can be found HERE.
The sentiment is from an older Jaded Blossom set called Babies and Weddings.

I cut Emilee out using my Scan N Cut2 and colored her using Copic Markers.

I'm so excited that you can now purchase Kitty Bee Designs stamps as clear stamps.
Although I love digital stamps, there's just something great about having the actual stamp oh hand.

Thanks for stopping in today.

Always Fun Challenges #55 ~ CAS (Clean and Simple)

Hi Crafty Friends,

For Always Fun Challenges this week, we're going Clean and Simple.

This is most often my style of choice.
I wanted to try a new technique for my project.

I used a metal stencil (can be used for embossing or stenciling) and Distress Inks.
After taping the stencil onto my watercolor paper, I used a fingertip sponge dauber to apply the ink and a chalking tool to add the small areas of shadow.  Finally, I used a water brush to lightly blend each area.  When I removed the stencil, this is how it turned out.  I love this technique!  Being a stamp colorist, it's hard for me to color/paint without lines but I love the free look of water coloring.
This was a great solution until I get comfortable with this medium.

Just some matting and score lines for interest and I called it done.

Please follow the Always Fun link above to join our CAS challenge.

Cut it Up Challenge #146 ~ Bugs or Critters

Hi Crafty Friends,

I hope you were able to hop along during our combined  blog hop with Die Cuttin' Divas.
The winners have been posted on the Cut it Up blog.

For our next challenge, sponsored by My Scrap Chick, the theme is bugs or critters.

I used the MSC-Butterfly Card for my project.

I used my Silhouette to cut the pieces, all from Doodlebug Designs card stock.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's Encouragement set.  Just a little inking was all that was needed to complete this card.  MSC files are truly easy to upload and work with on the Silhouette.

Follow the CIU link above to join in this challenge.

Don't forget that you must follow the theme and use a DIE cut!

The Merry Christmas Challenge #15 ~ TREES

Hi Crafty Friends,

Sorry I'm late with this post.  The good news is that I had my project ready for
The Merry Christmas Challenge post that went live this morning.

The optional theme for this week's challenge is TREES.

I love this pretty musical background paper.  I cut the trees from LaLa Land Crafts adhesive foil and the sentiment die was cut from Classic Linen white pearl.  Both dies are from La La Land Crafts.

Always Fun Challenge # 53 ~ Anything Goes

Hi Crafty Friends,

I hope we'll see lots of entries in this week's challenge at Always Fun Challenges.
Our theme is ANYTHING GOES, so show us what you've got!

I do so much coloring using Copic markers and I really want to try other mediums. For this card I painted with Distress Ink Oxide and added some dimension using Prisma pencils.  I stamped the image on Kraft paper.  I really need to practice this technique!  The die cuts are from LaLa Land Crafts and the papers are from an Authentique 6x6 pack.

Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge #115

Hi Crafty Friends,

My team is up for Kitty Bee Designs Aloha Friday Challenge.

For challenge #115 we're creating cards for Spring.
I'm using the Magical Woodland image from All Dressed Up, one of our challenge sponsors.

I colored using Copic Markers and added some gel pen (Signo White) dots and Spectrum Noir Sparkle, clear.  The frame is an older Spellbinders die.  The flower is from my stash.  Several years ago I was gifted two bags of amazing handmade flowers which I'm still using.

This is the Mid-Inspiration post so you still have a full week left to enter our challenge.
Just follow the link above.

Cut it Up Challenge #145 ~ You Are My Sunshine

Hi Crafty Friends,

Our Cut it Up Challenge this week is being sponsored by Dreaming Tree.
We were provided our choice of files to use for our "Sunshine" theme.

I found two of the FREE files that I thought were perfect for this challenge.
I used my Silhouette to cut both files.

Isn't this Sunflower Treat Basket just so cute?  The dropped the file onto my Silhouette virtual mat and cut it exactly as it came.  Other than remembering to turn on the cut lines,  I just had to cut and assemble.  I did use a little inking for distressing for dimension but cutting and assembly was super simple.  All the papers are Bo Bunny double dots (one of my faves!)

The second FREE file was even simpler to cut and assemble!
This file is the Sunny Tote.

Come on over to Cut it Up Challenge Blog and join in the fun!

Always Fun Challenges # 52 ~ Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,
Wow!  Can you believe it's April?  Sometimes I feel as though the weeks and months are moving in double time.
For this week's Always Fun Challenge, we're asking for BIRTHDAY projects.
My daughter asked me to create a special card for her neighbor's 3 year old triplets!!!  The birthday theme is Fun, Wild, and Three.  I decided they might enjoy a shaker card, so here it is.
I created the shaker window using Jaded Blossom Stitched Rectangle dies.  The letters are from the JB Alphabet Die set mounted on a JB Label die.  The leaves are a LLLC die.  The animal stickers came with the paper set that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.  I think they'll have fun shaking the sequins.
