August Challenge at Pearly Sparkles ~ Starts with a B

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's a new month which means a new challenge at Pearly Sparkles.

Our challenge for this month is STARTS WITH A B.  Wow!  so many ways to interpret this challenge.

I've needed several birthday cards lately so naturally BIRTHDAY was the perfect  answer for this challenge! (along with BLUE and BROWN) I just love the stamps created by The Rabbit Hole Designs.  The image and sentiment is from one of their newest sets, Doggone.  It's such a fun set.  I also love the card mat dies from Whimsy stamps and have been wanting to use this one.  I love CAS and this card fits the bill.

I hope you'll join us for this month's challenge.  Just follow the link above.

Die Cuttin Divas challenge 431 ~ Anything Goes

Hi Crafty Friends,

I love when there are 5 Tuesdays in a month.  That means we get to have an
ANYTHING GOES theme at Die Cuttin Divas.

The hubby and I recently celebrated our 50th Anniversary.  We had a party for friends and family and I needed some thank you cards after our special event.  Our theme was Daisies and Ducks - our wedding flower and hubby's passion.  Here's what I made:

I used the same papers and stamps as I did for our invitations.  Daisy background and stamp is from La-La Land Crafts as is the Tag and pocket die.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom along with the scalloped rectangle die.  I colored in the daisy using Spectrum Noir Metallic pens.

Come on and join us.  Anything Goes means you can share your favorite creation!

My Time to Craft Challenge 402 ~ Christmas in July

Hi Crafty Friends,

We're celebrating Christmas is July for this week's My Time to Craft challenge.

I've learned NOT to put away my Christmas papers, stamps, dies, or embellishments.  That way, I can work ahead whenever there is a holiday challenge or I just get in the mood.  Still hoping to avoid the last minute crunch before Christmas.

I've had this digital image run off for quite awhile (maybe last Christmas LOL) so I decided to use it for this project.  It's colored with Copic markers.  The papers and sentiment were in my stash.

I hope you'll join us.  Just follow the link above.

Cut it Up Challenge #179 ~ Critters

Hi Crafty Friends,

We're sharing CRITTERS for this week's Cut it Up Challenge.

The design team received images from Kitten Scraps to complete our projects.  Nathalie has some adorable images so please visit her store.  She's also sponsoring a joint Blog Hop coming up on August 2 so you won't want to miss it!

Here's my card using an image from the Toad-ally Love Lemonade set.

I wanted to make another split card and felt this was a great image to use.  It's just a fun way to make the card a little more interesting and fun.  I colored using Copic markers and cut the image out using my Scan N Cut2 - I love not having to fussy cut!

So, hop on over to our blog and show us your critter.  You'll have a chance to win images from our sponsor, Kitten Scraps!

Die Cuttin Divas Challenge 430 ~ 3-D

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's time to share your 3-D ideas at Die Cuttin Divas.

When I think of 3-D I usually think a box or treat holder of some sort but this time I decided that I would just add extra dimension to my card.  Along with popping up the mat layers using foam tape and craft foam, I added the most dimension to my flowers by burnishing and then rolling them.  I also adhered them using Collall glue which adds dimension in and of itself.

Here's my project:

I used a Crafter's Companion stamp and die set for the flower and leaves.  I stamped on colored  card stock using Archival Inks and added Stickles to the petals before burnishing and rolling.  The sentiment mats are Spellbinders Nestabilities.  The papers and ribbon are also from Crafter's Companion.

I hope you'll follow the link and join us in our 3-D challenge.

Die Cuttin Divas challenge 429 ~ Embossing

Hi Crafty Friends,

Our challenge for Die Cuttin' Divas is EMBOSSING.

There are many different embossing techniques -dry using an embossing folder, using a metal stencil with a stylus, heat embossing and, my new favorite, dry embossing using a stencil.  For today's project I've used  the harlequin stencil from La-La Land Crafts Hearts and Harlequins set to create my embossed background.

To create this effect, I ran the stencil through my Gemini Jr. but added the embossing mat to the stack.  Most of the die cuts and poodle image are from the Club La-La Land April 2019 kit.  I've used papers from an older My Mind's Eye 6x6 stack.

If you have stencils on hand, you might want to try embossing with them.  It's one more way to extend the possibilities of your crafting supplies.

Come on over and join our challenge.  Just follow the link above.

My Time to Craft Challenge 401 ~ Check it out!!

Hi Crafty Friends,

We're up for a fun challenge at My Time to Craft.  You're asked to make something with checks.  You may use checked pattern papers, embossing folders, stamps, whatever you might have that will add checks to your creation.

La-La Land Crafts has a wonderful background stamp set called Just for You.  The rubber stamp has a large checked surface to stamp a checkered pattern to any design.  I used it for my background paper in this card.

I also used LLLC's Best of Cluck clear stamp set for the rooster and sentiment and the different dies (all colored with Copics after cutting them out) are also from LLLC.  I love that this dapper rooster is waving through a window to all the chickies in the barnyard!

Just follow the MTTC link above to join us - check it out!!!!

Cut it Up Challenge #178 ~ Christmas in July

Hi Crafty Friends,

For challenge 178 at Cut it Up Challenges we're creating Christmas in July projects.
I was doing really well making at least one Christmas card a week but that fell by the wayside a few months back so I'm glad to have this challenge!

My daughters and I just love the panel trucks that have been so popular.  Our challenge sponsor, Scrappy Dew, has a really fun cut file called "Finding the Perfect Tree" which has this adorable truck.  The file has all the elements for a fabulous page layout (or two) but I chose to make a card.

I uploaded the file to my Silhouette, sized it down a little, then cut all the pieces out.  It was so easy to assemble.

I hope you'll join us for our Christmas in July challenge.  Scrappy Dew is providing this week's prize.

Die Cuttin' Divas # 428~ Anything Summer

Hi Crafty Friends,
I hope you had a great 4th of July Celebration!  Our small town has a fun parade which we love because it's a time to see friends and just have a great time.  We end the day with a terrific fireworks show and, of course, great picnic food.  I love everything about summer except maybe the hot, hot days.  I'm a low 80s sort of gal.
So, on to this week's Die Cuttin' Divas challenge - Anything Summer.
I found this cute image I had colored - I think as a demo for my Copic class gals - and decided to use it for this challenge.
I cut the image using a Jaded Blossom Stitched Rectangle die and added the sun also from Jaded Blossom Spring Dies 2.
