Let it Snow!

It seemed to be "snowing" leaves here in Northern California with winds whipping through the neighborhoods emptying the trees of what was left of their leaves.  But at Delightful Challenges, we aren't snowing leaves, we're introducing a new set of wonderful winter digital images and sponsoring the weekly challenge, Let it Snow.  I had the pleasure of coloring Skating Donita. I thought this Winter Background scene would be perfect for her adventure.  both images are available at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.

Candles, Wreaths, and Pinecones

Today is challenge #62 at Cooking with Cricut.  The design team members are sharing projects that have candles, wreaths, or pinecones.  Please visit Cooking with Cricut to get some wonderful inspiration. I created my wreath using the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake cartridge, but added a ribbon bow over the die cut one from the cartridge.

The stamped image in the corner was heat embossed to bring out a deeper ink color and the double-sided cardstock is held up by a gem brad from my stash.

Please join the challenge and share your design with us by linking your project HERE.
Be sure to include a Cricut cut.

Great News!!!!
Beginning on December 1st, Cooking with Cricut will be presenting
25 Days of Christmas.  There will be calendar pages, Cricut projects, and digital images, along with free downloads everyday - Cooking with Cricut and Paper Crafting World's holiday gifts to you.

Brrrrrrr. . . .

Today I'm sharing my latest design for Getting Cricky.  I love this Memory Box stamp and it's so easy to cut out with the matching die cut - don't have to fussy cut here.  The large snowflakes were stamped with VersaMark and then heat embossed with white sparkly embossing powder. The K Andrew Designs stamp fit perfectly on the Memory Box tag die cut.

Here is the Winter Wishes stamp set from K Andrew Designs.  There are so many possible sentiment combinations with this set.  I've been using it for almost all of my holiday cards.  You can purchase K Andrew stamps HERE.

I'd like to invite you to visit my facebook page,  Handmade From My Heart.  Along with posting my designs, I'll share links to some of my favorite challenge blogs.  I'd love to have you suggest your favorites as well.

Holiday Cards at Fantabulous Cricut

It's time for our Holiday Card Challenge #88 at Fantabulous Cricut.  I hope you'll follow the link to see what other design team members have created to share with you.

Since we're going to Texas for Christmas and I'm trying to get so much crafting finished before we leave, I've decided that everything from now on will be simple, simple, simple!  It has to be or it won't get finished.  Have you had those craft moments when there's just no time for fancy?  Thank goodness for the Cricut, a little ribbon, and a little bling!!!

My tree is cut from Art Philosophy (page 31).  I used the inside of the layer cut and just added a few gems.  The base of the tree was stamped with VersaMark, sprinkled with Kaleidoscope embosing powder and then heat embossed.  A piece of ribbon, the Divine Swirls folder and that's it - easy peasy.

Be sure to add your holiday card to our challenge post.  We'd love to have you share your ideas with us.

Delightful Challenges Red and Green

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving!
I'm so glad you found the time to drop by.  Today is the Red and Green challenge at Delightful Challenges.  I chose this sweet image of Oralie the Sleepy the Sleepy Mouse for my card.  She is one of many holiday images that can be found at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.

You can join us in this week's challenge by linking your Red and Green project to the Delightful Challenges post.  You'll be entered to win a gift voucher from the Digital Delights by Louby Loo store.

I have so much to be thankful for on this wonderful day - a wonderful family, a good life, and the many friends who share in my passion for this creative world.  THANK YOU!

First Post for Copic Marker Scrapbooking

You may have noticed a badge on my sidebar for Copic Marker Scrapbooking.  I recently became a design team member for that site and this is my first post.  It is not a challenge blog, but rather a place for those who are interested in refining their skills with Copics and also an online store for markers and digital images.
A new digital set is being released today.  Here are two of the images that are now available.
This little scarecrow was so much fun to color.  The sentiment is from the Fall O Ween set by K.Andrew Designs.  I heat embossed it with clear powder to bring out the ink color.

Isn't she just a stylin gal?  The flowers were fussy cut from a coordinating piece of patterned paper and then popped up with foam dimensionals.

If you're a Copic fan or if you enjoy digital images, please visit the Copic Marker Scrapbooking store.  You'll also find some very valuable information about using the markers and also a refill service.  Over on the blog, you'll see some wonderful examples of projects created using Copics as well as upcoming online classes!!!!  You can visit the blog HERE.

I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow.  I will put up a new blog post because it's Delightful Challenges day and I have a cute image to share with you.

Hugs and Happy Crafting,

Thank you so much for hopping along with the Cooking with Cricut Thanksgiving blog hop.  I hope you got lots of ideas for decorating for the holiday.  To those of you who left a comment - THANK YOU.  And, for those of you who chose to become a new follower - SUPER THANK YOU.  I hope you'll be back to visit often.

Now to my blog hop winner . . . .  Woohoo and congratulations to commentor #15, Debbie, who said

"Wow your table is absolutely beautiful! Ilove each one but the leaves are my favorites."

Debbie, if you'll email me your address, I'll get your blog hop goodies in the mail.  You'll find my email under the Contact Me tab.

I have a card ready to share with you.  I used one of K.Andrew Designs stamp sets and a new release digi from Copic Marker Scrapbooking.  BUT, due to a computer glitch at CMS, the digi hasn't been released and we've been asked not to post until the release on CMS.  I'm hoping to post it late Wednesday or Friday.  We'll hope for good Karma over at CMS.

Hope you're having fun preparing for the holidays.  I'm making sweet potato casserole to take to our family dinner and a yummy Festive Salad.  I love Thanksgiving!!!

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge

Today is my first day to share a project for Getting Cricky's Simply Sunday "Give Thanks" Challenge.

This card is for a wonderful woman who brought comfort to my sister in her final days.
I used stamps from Kristal's Amazing You and Splashtastic Summer Sets. Woohoo, I received 8 more stamp sets in the mail right after I finished the card so I'll have lots more options for my card making sentiments now. You can find her amazing stamp sets HERE.

The flower and leaves are EK Success and Martha Stewart punches.  The bling on the ribbon is a strip of nailhead stickers.  I heat embossed the sentiment with clear powder to bring the ink color out.

Please stop by Getting Cricky and see what the other designers are sharing.   Then you can join our Simply Sunday Challenge by adding your project to the link.

Have a wonderful Sunday.  I hope you have many things for which to Give Thanks.  I know I do, and being able to share my papercrafting passion with you is one of them.

Hugs and Happy Crafting,

Quick and Easy Table Decor

If you're looking for some Thanksgiving ideas, you're in the right place!

Welcome to Handmade From My Heart and the Cooking With Cricut "Giving Thanks" blog hop.  If you've come from visiting Mindy at Scrappy and Piggy, you're in the right place and moving right along.  If you're one of my regular visitors and would like to hop along with us click HERE and start at the beginning.

Today's hop is all about Thanksgiving decorations for your home and table.  I wanted to make something quick and easy since there's less than a week until Thanksgiving.  If you haven't thought about your table, just adding this simple napkin ring decoration, placecard and glass mat will help it look a  little more festive and it's easy peasy!

The place card is from the Thanksgiving cartridge and the napkin ring leaves and glass mat were cut from MS Seasonal Cake Art.

To thank you for hopping along, I have a little blog candy.  All you have to do is leave a comment and a way for me to contact you.  A name will be selected by Random.org  and the winner will be announced on Wednesday's post.  Of course, if you're not a follower, I'd love to have you become one.

Now it's your turn.  Link up your Thanksgiving project at Cooking with Cricut.
Here are some guidelines to follow:
1.  Must follow the challenge topic and use one of the free files provided at CWC.
2.  Must be a NEW project for this challenge.  No back dated posts please.
3.  Must have a link back to the CWC post on your blog.
4.  Must link your project post through InLinkz and not just your blog.
5.  Must use your Cricut in some capacity.
6.  Must HAVE FUN!
7.  You may combine challenges . . . we love to pile it on too!

The Design Team will pick their three favorites and one lucky person will be chosen randomly to win of the prizes being offered at CWC.  There is also a prize just for leaving us a comment on the CWC blog.  One catch, those leaving comments MUST be a CWC follower.  Each prize winner will receive a $10 gift voucher-download from Paper Crafting World.  How cool is that?

Now head on over to Jenny's blog (last stop) at Crazy About Cricut and see what she's cooked up for you.

Enjoy the hop and Happy Thanksgiving!

Holiday Wishes

Don't miss it!!!
Tonight is the 3rd-Friday Blog Hop at Getting Cricky with K. Andrew.  It begins at 9:00 p.m. EST and goes through Saturday until midnight.  I hope you'll visit the DT members who are sharing their Holiday Wishes creations, each featuring stamps from K Andrew Designs.  Begin your hop at Getting Cricky and follow the links to get some holiday inspiration and blog candy along the way.

I designed this holiday card just to help get you in the spirit!!
The elf is a cut from the Jolly Holidays Cartridge and I welded the letters cut from Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art.  The stamps are from two of the K Andrew Designs sets, Amazing You and Splashtastic Summer. I added some doodling, Baker's Twine and punched snowflakes to complete the design.

Tomorrow is the Cooking with Cricut Thanksgiving blog hop. Join us as we share home decor and table decorations for your holiday.  I'll be sharing a few quick and easy last minute table decorations.  Even if you haven't thought about your place settings, you'll have time to do these super-easy accents.  You can start at CWC or, if you stop by here, you'll find links to help you on your way.  I'll be offering blog candy for anyone taking the time to leave a comment.

Have a wonderful day.  I hope to see you tomorrow.

Designer Bingo

It's challenge day at Delightful Challenges and we're inviting you to play Bingo!  The challenge is to select three Bingo squares: across, down, or diagonal, and incorporate those into your design.
My choices included patterned paper, a die cut or punch, and flowers.  Instead of using a digital image from Digital Delights by Louby Loo, I chose to use a digital paper design from the Valentine Digital Papers Pack, also available at Digital Delights by Louby Loo. I added Prima flowers and a die cut from the Cricut American Alphabet cartridge.  I also used a corner flourish die from Sissix.

Come and join our Bingo challenge.  Chose your three Bingo squares and start creating.

Be sure to link your creation to the Delightful Challenges post for a chance to win a gift certificate to

Let's Talk Turkey at CWC and a winner!

Good Morning!
It's design team day at Cooking with Cricut.  The challenge for today is "Let's Talk Turkey."  I'm sure many of you are busy planning your Thanksgiving holiday.  I thought this card would make a cute invitation for Thanksgiving Day.
I used Doodlecharms for the turkey, and welded letters from Songbird and Kate's ABC's for the sentiments.  I just decided to have a little fun with the theme and this idea came to me.  I hope you'll join in the fun at Cooking with Cricut.  Just link up your project to today's post.  Winners will be announced Nov. 25.

And speaking of winners - I received 40 comments during the Fantabulous Cricut Harvest Blessings Crawl and Random.org. selected number 40!  Sometimes being last IS a good thing.
The winner is Michelle from Michelle's Crafty Creations.

Thanks to all of you who took the time to visit and leave a comment.  Don't forget there are two more blog hops coming up this week.  Just check my sidebar.

Today I'm sharing an anniversary card that I designed using the wonderful stamps from K.Andrew Designs.  I have ordered 6 new sets and am waiting anxiously for them to arrive.  I have quite a few Cricut Card Fairy requests just waiting for the perfect card sentiments.
For this card, I mixed and matched stamps from the Splashtastic Summer set (sentiment)  and the Amazing You set (heart).

The papers are DCWV Formal Affair Stack. The mats are from Elegant Edges and the Happy Anniversary is from Beyond Birthdays.

Harvest Blessings

Good Morning and welcome to the Fantabulous Cricut Harvest Blessings Crawl (our blog hop!)

We've decided to create projects to give thanks for our Harvest Blessings.  Each Design Team member will be featuring a project that includes Brown, Orange, and Red - and at least one Cricut cut.

If you've come from Kate's at Small Bits of Paper, you're in the right place.  If you were just stopping by my blog and would like to play along with the Fantabulous Cricut Crawl, start HERE.  Make sure to check out each DT member's blog for some terrific inspiration.  There will be blog candy here and there along the way and a GRAND PRIZE for one participant who submits a "Harvest Blessings" project at FCCB.

I created a single page layout for my project.  I am so blessed to belong to a wonderful family and to have a marvelous husband who supports me in all that I do and two wonderful daughters who make me proud each and everyday.

I have a little something to offer one person who will be selected randomly from those who leave a comment.  Be sure to include a way for me to contact you.  I will announce the winner on Wednesday's post.
Of course, I will be very excited if you also decide to become a follower.

Now it's your turn.  Let's see your Harvest Blessings project.  Make sure to include a Cricut cut and use the colors Brown, Orange, and Red as well.

Next stop . . . Lisa F. at A Mermaid's Crafts.  She's so talented, I'm sure you'll love visiting her blog.  And when you're done, make sure to link your own project to FCCB's Cricut Crawl post to be entered to win the GRAND PRIZE.

Hugs and Happy Crafting,
Larelyn

A Busy Week Ahead

Oh, it's going to be a busy, busy week and you'll have a chance for some blog candy on three different days - woohoo!  Who doesn't like the idea of winning a little sumpin, sumpin?

So, what's happening this week?  First,  Fantabulous Cricut will be sponsoring a Harvest Blessings Cricut Crawl (our version of a blog hop) tomorrow beginning at 8:00a.m EST (that's 5 a.m. for us westcoasters!)
Here's a sneak peek:

On Tuesday, I'll be sharing another card featuring stamps from K Andrew Designs (Getting Cricky with K Andrew.)  A neat thing about her sets is that some of the sentiments can be mixed and matched.
Here's one of the sets I used:
Wednesday and Thursday are design team days for Cooking With Cricut and Delightful Challenges, then on Friday I'll be participating in another bloghop.  It will be my first Let's Get Cricky blog hop.  The theme is Holiday Wishes and, of course, there'll be blog candy.

And on Saturday, Cooking with Cricut is sponsoring a Thanksgiving blog hop.  This hop will be unique because you won't find any cards!  The design team members have each created some sort of holiday decor to inspire you.

And, what will I be doing in the meantime?  Working on the Thanksgiving release for my newest design team!  Yep, I will be designing for Copic Marker Scrapbooking.  This is not a challenge blog, but rather a website and blog to support Copic Marker artists and those who want to learn more about the medium. You know how much I love them so designing for CMS gives me an opportunity to improve my craft.

I sure hope you'll join in a the fun this week.

Larelyn

On the 11th Day of Christmas . . .

It's time for Day 11 of the 12 Days of Christmas at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.

11 Pipers Piping . . .
I wanted to use the same background paper for each of the images I did for this set.  I also added Baker's Twine to each.  You can see other DT examples HERE and also any of the days you may have missed.  Remember that the entire set will be available at the Digital Delights store on November 12.
The images would make a clever set of ornaments or a wonderful banner for your mantel or drapery rod.

Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs and Happy Crafting,
Larelyn

Snowy Wishes

Here is my Delightful Challenges design team project for the "add snowflakes" challenge.  The image is Sledding Noah, one of the images available at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.  I must say, I'm really happy with the way this card turned out.  Once I found the background paper, the rest seemed to come together.  I love Noah with his bright Copic reds against all the blue.

I used Martha Stewart punches for the snowflakes and border.  The fur on Noah's coat and hat is Frosted Lace Stickles.  The sentiment is a digi from the Snow Sentiment Set.  I inked the punched circle and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I found the snowflake brads in my stash.

I hope you'll join our Snowflake challenge.  Just link your design to the Delightful Challenges post.  This week's sponsor is The Cutting Cafe.  The challenge winner will be able to select any three images.

Hugs and Happy Crafting,

My Craft Space

Since I spent the weekend reorganizing, I thought I'd share my crafting space with you.  It's still a bedroom (pity the poor soul who has to sleep here) and the furniture is all bits and pieces from here and there - it is truly the "poor woman's" craft space.  When we moved here, things we weren't sure where to put seemed to land here.  You'll see that 2 bookshelves and an entertainment center have been converted to craft keepers, along with every other available space LOL!
When you walk into the room and turn to the left, this is what you see - an old teacher's desk that I bought for $25.  I love the slide outs on each side because it gives me more space.

To the right of the desk are my cubes and a set of storage drawers.  I took the books off the bookcase and added crafting instead - hey, they were college books and cookbooks - who has time to cook!  The binders hold my clear stamps, bling, and Cricut Preview sheets.
Continuing around, past the bed - darn thing takes up so much space but I can lay stuff on it IF the dogs aren't asleep on top - more storage for embellishments, sew easy, and kits.  I bought the paper racks when our LSS went out of business. Oh, the big green tote holds my Chrismas paper - I move it out after the holidays.

And, the entertainment center which became craft storage.  The boxes on top hold my plain cardstock.  The 3-drawers have my inks and the photo boxes hold my sample cards.

Turning back towards the door, you'll see my punches in an over-the-door shoe bag.  The colored drawer set hold my scraps and the taller drawers hold small punches, tools, brads and bling, and buttons.  It actually sits between the two sliding closet doors.  I can  sit in my chair at the desk and turn to reach the scrap drawers or supply drawers and the chest you'll see in the last picture.

The right side of the closet is all shelving so of course it's full of supplies too.  My spools of ribbon are in plastic storage on the lower shelf  (can't see that one) along with a rolling basket of more paper.

You see the bed and chest as you walk in without turning (the desk is to the left).  I just bought these storage drawers at J's to put all of my wooden stamps in. And, you can see my cutters, project calendar, and ATG guns on the chest.  Everything is in easy reach of the desk.

If we have company, quite a bit of stuff can be moved, unless it's family, then they just have to sleep around it!!! LOL

Well, that's it - no IKEA here, but it's my space and has everything I need.

Thanks for visiting.
Hugs and Happy Crafting,
Larelyn

My First Getting Cricky Design

As a member of the Getting Cricky design team, I'll be posting one new card a week featuring the wonderful stamps created by Kristal Andrew of K Andrew Designs. The Getting Cricky blog also sponsors a Simply Sunday Challenge which I would like to invite you to participate in.  Since our design team has added so many new members, Kristal and her Senior Design Team have lots more things planned for other days so be sure to keep up with the blog.  The easiest way is to become a subscriber.

Now, at little about Kristal's stamp sets.  One of the reasons I wanted to be on her team is that she supports some wonderful charities.  $1 from every set sold is donated to a charity.  When you purchase your stamp sets, you'll know which charity your purchase is supporting.  How generous is that?  Also, the quality of her stamps is amazing.  Each image or sentiment stamps crisp and clean - I love that.

The first set I purchased was the Sympathetic Sayings set.  Her sentiments have beautiful fonts and very thoughtful sayings.

Here is the card I created.  I used the Sophie cartridge for the die cut and then added dimension using a Copic marker, metallic pen, some score lines using my MS Scoreboard,  pearls and ribbon.

I've decided that Tuesdays will work well in my crafting schedule to share my Getting Cricky designs.  Each Tuesday, I'll feature more of Kristal's stamps.  Be sure to visit  K Andrew Designs to see the many wonderful stamp sets she has to offer.

Hugs and Happy Crafting,

A Double Post

Good Morning.  I have two things to share with you today.

First, it's Challenge Me Monday at Fantabulous Cricut.  Challenge #85 is called Book Lover.  You can make a book, a project with a book, or a bookmark.  Don't forget that there must be a Cricut cut somewhere on your design.  I decided to make a mini Wish book.  The purse size allows you to take it with you when you go window shopping.  I used Cricut American Alphabet for the gift and Stamping for the sentiment.  The little sunflower is a Jolee sticker.  The papers are from my scrap drawer. This mini composition book measures 2.5 x 4.5.  Be sure to visit FCCB.  Today is the first day that some of our DT members will be posting their projects.

And, it's Day 7 of the 12 Days of Christmas at Digital Delights by Louby Loo.
On the 7th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me . . .

7 swans a-swimming.
Hop on over to the Digital Delights blog to see some more images and catch up on any days that you may have missed.  Remember that all of the images will be available November 12.

Well, that's it for today.  I spent the entire weekend cleaning and reorganizing my craft room.  It feels so good to know where everything is and that it's organized.  I may share pictures later this week.  Mine is the poor scrapper,s room - all with make-do furniture (because it is a bedroom), plastic storage, and baskets, but it's my space and I love spending time in it.

Hugs and Happy Crafting,
Larelyn

Getting Cricky!

Yup, I'm going to be Getting Cricky as a new member of the Getting Cricky design team.

Kristal, of K Andrew Designs had a UStream stamp release party last night and also announced her new Jr. Design Team.  Well, she announced the first group, then her Senior (returning) team and then added even more members.  It was a crazy night.  I already have some of her fabulous stamps and will be sharing a few designs with you during the week.  I have more sets coming in the next few weeks so I'll be having a stamping good time!  Needless to say, I've been on a craftroom cleaning kick, trying to get organized so I can do justice to my design teams.  I'm amazed at what was hiding in the nooks and crannies of my space.  I am getting more organized, however, and I always work better when things are organized and in square piles (maybe it's a teacher thing - hmmmmmm?) Well, now that things are looking better, maybe I'll get some crafting done so I can share some of Kristal's stamps with you.
Hope you're having a great weekend.

Hugs and Happy Crafting,
Larelyn

All That Glitters

I haven't been much of a glitter person (Stickles are the exception) until I found this fun technique using
Peel-off stickers by Elizabeth Craft Designs, micro fine glitter, Be Creative Tape, and Copic markers.  I saw some examples at my LSS so I came home, experimented a little then went online to Elizabeth Craft Designs.
This double sided tape is an amazing way to apply micro fine glitter.

After I put the tape on a piece of cardstock, I applied the Peel-off sticker then sprinkled the glitter and pressed it with my finger (to burnish it).  I used Copic markers to color the flower and leaves - so much easier than trying to apply glitter in all the tiny sections and a much greater color choice.

I dug in my scrap drawer to make a quick card.

I love the sparkle!  This was a really fun technique.  I just ordered 6 more sets of Elizabeth's Peel-off stickers. Oh, they come in gold, silver and black-$1.99 a sheet. I found the directions (after playing on my own) on the website under the Gallery tab.  That takes you to her Facebook page and if you go into the picture albums, you'll find the directions.
I'm sure I'll be doing more experimenting, especially with the tape.  I did remember why I love Stickles and have stayed away from glitter - there was glitter floating everywhere around my craft room and I'm sure my make-up will sparkle for days!!!

Hugs and Happy Crafting,
Larelyn

A Very Sparkly Christmas

That's the theme for this week's challenge at Delightful challenges.  The design team is also introducing the newest Christmas images from the Digital Delights by Louby Loo store.
I have the pleasure of introducing Fairy Poppet along with one of the sentiments from the Touch of Christmas Sentiment Set.
This sidestep card was created using DCWV shimmer paper, glitter paper, and Christmas paper.  The star is a Sissix die that I glittered and outlined with Stickles.  I also used Stickles on Poppet's wand and wings.  The fur on his cap and hem is Liquid Applique whick has been heat set then dusted with glitter.  Please visit the Delightful Challenges blog to see more of the Christmas release and also join in the Very Sparkly Christmas weekly challenge.
Also, don't forget the 12 Days of Christmas being featured Nov. 1-12 on the Digital Delights blog.

Hugs and Happy Crafting,
Larelyn

12 Days of Christmas

Here's a peek at Day 2 of Digital Delights' 12 Days of Christmas.  As I said in an earlier post, each of the characters are fun and whimsical.  The entire set will be available in the store on November 12.

"On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me . . ."

Have you ever seen such a cute turtle dove - teehee?  I think he's just adorable.
I've decided to use the same patterned paper and mats (DCWV Christmas Combo Stack) for each of my days.  I wanted them to co-ordinate so that they could be displayed as a set.  I'll be sharing two more,
Nov. 7 and 11.  For the other days, you can visit the Digital Delights' blog.

Stop back tomorrow for Digital Delights by Louby Loo's December release and Delightful Challenges' weekly challenge.

Hugs and Happy Crafting,
Larelyn
