A New Technique

Good Morning and welcome to my post for Digi Desserts Fridaze at My Paper Crafting.

For today's project, I wanted to try something new.  I love using Glitter Ritz ultrafine glitter with Elizabeth's Craft Designs stickers.  Copic markers work really nicely on the glitter to give the appearance of stained glass.  Well, I wondered if it was possible to print a digital image onto the glitter and then use Copics.  Melin has this wonderful Butterfly n Mother Sentiments digital printable image so I decided to try it.

This is the final result!

I started by adding Elizabeth Craft Designs glitter to a double sided adhesive strip
that had been placed on cardstock and then burnished with my finger.  That paper was run through the printer printing two of the digis.  Because of burnishing, there was little glitter "fallout".

Then, I added one image to the card base and colored and cut out the other to add dimension to the card.  NOTE:  you can't overblend with the Copics as the alcohol in the ink can dissolve the adhesive.

As you can see, the printed image isn't as dark as on plain paper, but I think the effect is rather unique and given a wide-lined image, I would certainly try this again.

Hop on over to MPC to see more digi goodness from my design team partners and meet this week's guest designer, Suze Woods.  While you're there you can pick up this adorable FREE image.  Then you can link up for a chance to win your own FREE image of choice from Paper Crafting World and maybe even be selected as our next guest designer.

Larelyn, this is such a lovely card. Thanks for the extra info given. It looks like a handbag from here and would be great as a gift card holder too.
