Jaded Blossom May Release Blog Hop

Hi Crafty Friends,

If you're here from Cynthia's Blog, you're in the right place, if you're just passing through start at the beginning because you don't want to miss a thing.  I also have the complete line up at the bottom.

Here is what I made:

I love to experiment with different techniques and this card is the result.  I stamped and heat embossed the image using gold embossing powder.  I used Distress Ink Oxides to blend over and around the image the rubbed the ink off the embossed detail.  Finally, I added Spectrum Sparkle over the entire image which reacted with the Oxide Inks.  I used a heat gun to stop the reaction and preserve the remaining color.  I think it produced an interesting effect.

Mushroom Cluster (NEW)
Stitched Squares Dies
Hello Hello
Sentiment Strip Dies

Cut it Up Challenge #276 ~ What's in Your Garden?

Hi Crafty Friends,

Cut it Up Challenge #276 is What's in Your Garden?

We're finally getting some spring weather here in Northern California so we are beginning to see trees blooming and flowers growing.

Here's a project featuring my favorite flowers ~ daisies.  The die set is from Spellbinders.

I cut the entire die set using 100# white card stock and then ink blended the pieces using Distress Ink Oxides.  The background is a Jaded Blossom Stencil and so is the grass and sentiment.

Hope you'll play along with us for this challenge.

Cut it Up Challenge #274 ~ Add Embellishments

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's time for another Cut it Up Challenge. Our challenge is to ADD EMBELLISHMENTS.

I love using enamel dots, sequins, ribbon, Nuvo Drops or Stickles on my projects.
Recently I've been using some of the new Spellbinders flower die sets.  They have lots of little pieces but when put together they are really pretty.
For this card I used the Sealed Wildflowers set.

I created the background by blending 3 Distress Ink Oxides and adding a spritz of water.
Rather than using colored cardstock for the flowers and leaves, I cut them all out of Hammermill Cover Copy 80# white cardstock and then colored them using Copic Markers.  The flower centers are Diamond Dots.  I also added some clear acrylic dots and a bow.  I'm so happy with the way it turned out.

There will be a mystery prize package with this challenge!!!
Just leave a comment on the Cut It Up Blog.  You don't have to enter a project to be eligible but you do have to have USA mailing address.  If you are adding an entry, be sure you also comment.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll visit the CIU blog and also play along with us.

Grateful

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's my turn to share on the Jaded Blossom Blog.

I watched a Jennifer McGuire video showing how to make an easy pop-up frame card and have been trying out a few designs.  Today I'm sharing a pop-up frame shaker card using a stenciled background.

Jaded Blossom products used:
Sunflower Stencil (inked with Distress Oxides)
Thankful Acorn with Outline Dies

This is such a fun technique which provides some great dimension but easily folds flat for mailing.

Thanks for stopping in today.

Heard the Buzz

 Hi Crafty Friends,

It's my design team day here on the Jaded Blossom blog.

I was going through my birthday stamps file and decided to use this older stamp because I think this JB Bee is just adorable.

I stamped the image on Neenah Desert Storm and then colored using Copic markers.  I did use a Prisma pencil for the white.  I made a stencil out of the Honeycomb Card mat die and inked it up, again using Neenah Desert Storm and Distress Oxide inks.  I added a few cells from a previous die cut.  I added a second bee to a die cut flower just for fun!

Cut it Up Challenge #225 ~ Mother's Day sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays

Hi Crafty Friends,

We're celebrating mothers with this next challenge at Cut it Up Challenge Blog.

I used a background stamp and a stamp/die combo from our sponsor, CAS-ual Fridays, to create this card.  With the sentiments I chose, it can be used for more than Mother's Day.

I inked up a piece of white Neenah solar white paper with Distress Oxides and then stamped with the "Flowery: background stamp.  Then I used a Jaded Blossom's Scallop Rectangle die to cut it out.  The single flower, leaves, and combined sentiments are from the "Flowery Duo" stamp and die set.  I used JB's Mini Tag Dies 3 to mat the sentiments.

I hope you'll play along with us.  Just follow the link above.

My Time to Craft #398 ~ Make it Krafty

Hi Crafty Friends,
Our challenge for My Time to Craft is to use Kraft paper.
I love using Kraft paper for my card projects.  All of my daughter's Save the Dates and Wedding Invitations were made using Kraft paper bases.  I'm now in the process of making 50th Anniversary invitations, also with Kraft paper bases.  Here's how they turned out.
My wedding flowers were daisies so when La-La Land Crafts released their spring kit which included a daisy background stamp I was thrilled.  The daisy line art stamp was also included in the background set.  I used my MISTI to add the line stamps so they would be uniform on all of the invitations. I used my Silhouette to cut the gold numbers and shadow using glitter paper from Michael's and AC black card stock.  Then I added gold Stickles to the daisy centers.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's Invitations Galore set.

I hope you'll join us in our Kraft challenge.  Just follow the link above.

My Time to Craft Challenge #395 ~ Spring Flowers

Hi Crafty Friends,

Here's my second post for this busy crafty Friday.
We're celebrating with spring flowers at My Time to Craft.

I fell in love with this floral frame die from Pretty Pink Posh.
There are so many ways it can be used but I decided to color the flowers using Copic markers.  I cut two frames then cut off the flowers from one so that I could add a frame to the flowers giving it more dimension.  I used Distress Ink Oxide on the separated frame.  The background was stamped with the same ink using the Hello Lovely background stamp from La-La Land Crafts.  The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's Spring Signs.

I'm excited to try even more designs using this fabulous die.  I hope you'll join in our challenge.
Just link your project to our blog (see above.)

Challenge Cards

Hi Crafty Friends,
I'm back sharing two more cards make specifically for card challenges.
It's fun designing cards to meet the requirements of challenges other than my own design teams.  I'm getting new ideas and meeting new crafty friends in the process.
This first card is for Jaded Blossom's March Challenge.
It's a color challenge along with using Jaded Blossom products.

I've used the Peacock stamp which is their spotlight stamp for this month.  I needed a sympathy card and this idea just sort of evolved.  I used Distress Oxides to create the background and then stamped and heat embossed the peacock using Gold Detail embossing powder.  I did add some Copic markers to the feathers.  The sentiment is from JB's Wishing You Comfort set.

My second card is for the Christmas Card Throwdown.  This week is a sketch challenge.

I used papers and die cuts from my stash although I know the die cuts are from La La Land Crafts.
The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's Holiday Pampering set.
I think I share every week how excited I am to see my holiday card stash grow!

Die Cuttin' Diva's Challenge #409 Sketch

Hi Crafty Friends,

Wow!  It's March already so time for our Die Cuttin' Divas SKETCH challenge.

No photo description available.

I really had fun with this sketch because I took a lot of creative license!!!

As I was going through my La La Land Crafts die binder I got inspired by the clouds border die and the shells border die.  So, I thought, "Why not?"  I decided on on the palm tree island die cut for the center but thought the trees needed a little more background so I added the cloud dies.  For the sentiment in the circle I chose one of Jaded Blossom's Friends Candies stamps - sentiment AND circle!  LOL.  I created the background using a blending tool and Distress Oxide Inks.

I hope you'll play along with our sketch challenge.
Share your entry at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Kitty Bee Designs ~ DT Spotlight

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's the 4th Tuesday so it's time to share my DT Spotlight project for Kitty Bee Designs.

Unicorns are such a rage right now and this Unicorn Panda is just too cute.
I cut it out using my Scan N Cut2 and then colored with Copics adding sparkly accents with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.  The background for the image was created using Distress Oxide inks over a stencil from Craftin Desert Divas.  The dotted papers are from Doodlebug Designs.

You can find the image by clicking on the link.

Thanks for stopping in today.

Always Fun Challenge # 53 ~ Anything Goes

Hi Crafty Friends,

I hope we'll see lots of entries in this week's challenge at Always Fun Challenges.
Our theme is ANYTHING GOES, so show us what you've got!

I do so much coloring using Copic markers and I really want to try other mediums. For this card I painted with Distress Ink Oxide and added some dimension using Prisma pencils.  I stamped the image on Kraft paper.  I really need to practice this technique!  The die cuts are from LaLa Land Crafts and the papers are from an Authentique 6x6 pack.
